About Me: When I started thinking way too much about zombies: When Resident Evil came out What started my zombie fixation:Resident Evil Favorite zombie book:The Zombie Survival Guide (yes I can pick out what is logical and what is not) Favorite zombie movie: Zombieland Favorite quote in any zombie movie:"I mean one more clean shot to the head and this woman could have avoided becoming a human happy meal. Woulda. Coulda. Shoulda." - Columbus, "Zombieland" My Survival Plan: My “handle” should you look for you on the radio waves or web:Aelanu or Ailiwen (Ae-lah-new or All-ih-when)My location:Currently VA but would make my way to WV where I am more familiar with the landscape and its inhabitants Is my plan dependent on zombies in your home town, or anywhere? Why would I be depending on zombies? Aren't they trying to eat me? Considering where I'm living- its best to "hunker down" for awhile before making my move (to WV). There will be panic and zombies everywhere for at least a few weeks. Will I be staying in my home or headed somewhere else? Both. I consider WV my home but I have to travel to get there. I live in Richmond, VA. Totally NOT safe for a ZA. If I'm heading out, how do I plan to get there?Car, hopefully. I guess I'd bike it if I had to- it would take a long time...I'd have to stop for rest, supplies, ect. but I would do it. West Virginia is safer by a long shot- there are so many desolate places that its likely in the right spot I could go years without seeing a zombie. I suppose I could also take a gas scooter- but A SUV of some sort would be nice...I'd go for a hummer. I hate the things, but in this situation they are a good idea. However, the bike or scooter would be easier to travel on b/c of their size. It depends on the road conditions, as always. Got anyone I want to take with me?My fiancee and his son. Children are awful when it comes to these panic survival situations, but I have no choice. I wouldn't leave my own behind, I couldn't expect it from him. How will I communicate with the outside world, or do I plan to go the hermit route?CB radio, walkie talkie, or tracfone. How am I planning to get food and water?I can hunt, fish, and grow things very easily. Water can be easily found if you look hard enough (bottled water, wells, lakes, rivers, streams, ponds, ect.) and as long as I've got a fire, a tin can, and my bobble water bottle (extra filtration and piece of mind, ok?) I'll be fine. What’s my weapon of choice? Do you need to reload that thing? Gotta plan for that?Bow or crossbow. Fast, quiet, and deadly. As long as I can retrieve my arrows I should be fine- but they're sold in bulk at many hunting/fishing stores. If all else, before ZA I'll learn to make my own. Got a survival philosophy?Stay low, stay quiet. Travel only during the day, and board yourself in at night. Black out windows and block them- entrances, too. Keep everyone together- in one to two rooms. Distribute responsibilities evenly- as well as what you carry. There is always at least one person on guard- preferably two. You get bitten- I'll kill you. I'd probably let you live as long as you were useful- but I couldn't let you turn. Am I willing to hook up with other survivors?Survival in numbers- but only if everyone is level headed and willing to do their share. I have enough **** to deal with- I don't need crazy humans on top of zombies. Is my plan based on a book/movie/blog/scientist other survivors may have heard of? My plan is based on my own knowledge, other user strategies, movies and various things pulled from the Zombie Guide. I'm smart enough to know what would work and what wouldn't.
