"Then again, it's Alex we're talking about here, I mean where as Rumpelstiltskin can spin straw into gold, Alex can spin straw into f*cking 9mm bullets... Spock can destroy anything with logic and Alex can destroy anything with a shotgun..."

Alex, mowing down zombies with his AK: "Come on, we gotta go! There's too many!" Me, after dropping my SKS like Fredo: "OK, hang on, I found a quarter!"

About Me:
When I started thinking way too much about zombies: Age 17, myself and a couple friends wrote a "Pulp Fiction" style zombie novel with our 3 personal stories eventually coming into 1 mutual ending.
What started my zombie fixation: The ZSG
Favorite zombie book: It was the ZSG until I started posting here. I haven't read any other zombie novels.
Favorite zombie movie: The Crazies (Romero was the executive producer, so it technically is a zombie movie)
Favorite quote in any zombie movie: "I think he wants more than your license and registration!" When the RV is attacked by a zombified state trooper in Diary of the Dead
My Survival Plan:
MY SURVIVAL PLAN
My “handle” should you look for you on the radio waves or web: Higgs
My location: Washington State in the hills of North Seattle
Is my plan dependent on zombies in your home town, or anywhere? An early reaction is important to survival. If New Zealand announces a national state of emergency due to zombies, I will already be in my BOL starting to fortify. Being ahead of the game can also give the slim chance to be able to stock up a little extra by beating the panic by a week or two.
Will I be staying in my home or headed somewhere else? For my North Carolina BOL I will be going to a friend's place. In Kansas and West Virginia I will be most likely staying at home.
If I'm heading out, how do I plan to get there? By truck as far as I can get, then by foot through the woods.
Got anyone I want to take with me? My party is meeting at the location, but we are getting there individually.
How will I communicate with the outside world, or do I plan to go the hermit route? A CB radio in the truck and we have a bunch of multi-channel hand radios at the BOL.
How am I planning to get food and water? Food is already stockpiled and we have containers fit for storing 800+ galons of water. I will eventually invest in an atmospheric water producer as well as learning how to grow food. I'm a capable hunter and will also do some scavenging.
What’s my weapon of choice? Do you need to reload that thing? Gotta plan for that? On the move it will be an AK-47, FN Five-seveN, and Taurus model 605 .357 mag. My Mossberg Persuader 12GA is at my BOL along with a good sized arsenal of my parties weapons. We have ammunition stockpiled (over 1,000 rounds of each caliber, excluding .357 mag). I also carry a Ka-Bar kukri machete.
Got a survival philosophy? Stay off the grid, keep your mind occupied, and don't trust anyone.
Am I willing to hook up with other survivors? It will all depend on the situation. If I do decide to take on more people, it will be very cautiously.
Is my plan based on a book/movie/blog/scientist other survivors may have heard of? Common sense with a little military training.

It takes a man very secure in his sexuality to display his knives on a Cinderella bed spread.

where I asked about the 5.7 round.
Ultimately the 'expensiveness' of it turned me down.
But we did get into how there's an upper for an AR lower that fires 5.7 x 28

well, I have news good sir!
and i bet its old to you, but smith and wesson has an AR upper chambered in the 5.45 x 39 russian.
specific name is the M&P AR15R

just thought id throw it out there. Alot of talking with some prepper people online has taught me that 1) the 5.45 is reliable, accurate, and powerful,
2) that the AR15R is surprisingly effective,
and i taught myself the 3)
5.45 is cheap, but more likely to be rare than other calibers
