Warning: I will hardly be active for a unknown time, have to take care of some personal issues. About Me: When I started thinking way too much about zombies:Friendly warning: I'm not the most useful person, and I'm far from ready. But I'm going to be ready when I have to. The moment I started playing Left 4 Dead, I've become addicted to zombie fiction. This was roughly one year ago. I've only started reading, and thinking of my plan a few months ago. What started my zombie fixation: Games, daily thinking of the unknown, imagination. Favorite zombie book: The Zombie Survival Guide Favorite zombie movie: Land of the Dead (Trying to find alot more, contact me!) Favorite quote in any zombie movie: -

(If that is what you mean by 'handle') My location: Netherlands, although I won't be staying here if Z-day hits. Is my plan dependent on zombies in your home town, or anywhere? No, it can happen anywhere, I'll be ready. Will I be staying in my home or headed somewhere else? I'll be heading for a harsh, remote place up north in Canada (Not the 'cold' woods, prefer the freezing places.) still a work in progress. If I'm heading out, how do I plan to get there? I live in Holland, I'll find a boat with ease, I plan on looking up about how to sail, as that will be the best way of traveling (Non-fuel). Got anyone I want to take with me? I would preffer to take some survivors, I want to be able to trust them, I'll try to find some people I know if they are able to. (Not hurt, infected... dead.) How will I communicate with the outside world, or do I plan to go the hermit route? I shall hope that the internet will be staying up as long as it can, and give as much information as I can to the outside world, tips, hints, hidden stash locations. That is, after I've contacted my friends and family to meet up to start building up a permenant outpost. How am I planning to get food and water? I will be using whatever resources I can find, ice will provide me with enough water, plant life can be a good source of water and food. fishing and hunting, and farming will be my food. What’s my weapon of choice? Do you need to reload that thing? Gotta plan for that? Seeing as fire arms are illegal in my country, all I can do is read up. I do preffer Assault Rifles, for their long range, yet large mag size. Bolt action, or semi auto rifle, will be okay too. I will carry a long knife (Machete, Katana), 2 side arms (pistols, not revolver), and a rifle. or anything I can find. My first weeks as survivor I will have to survive through melee combat, and maybe some low-quality ranged. Got a survival philosophy? Live and let live, but make sure the dead are dead. Am I willing to hook up with other survivors? Yes, I am not capable of just leaving someone, I simply can't. It will be a huge disadvantage, but I don't care. What's the point of surviving if I already became a zombie? I will help humanity, survivors I find, as much as I possibly can. (I won't fall for cons and such, though.) Is my plan based on a book/movie/blog/scientist other survivors may have heard of? Yes, the Zombie Survival Guide, but tweaked... Anything else? Yes, I strongly believe that moral is the key, keep your hopes up, pray to whatever god you have in your heart, and you will get through. Metal is great music for an apocalypse for me, music entertains me, and keeps the moral high. Also, note that I am only 17 years old, and the best survival camping trip I can manage is camping between spikey plants, rabid squirrels and a stray cat, this is also the hardest kind of camping trip I will find here. Firearms are out of the question, the highest form I can find is archery, and I'm already practicing that in my backyard with my bow (Not self made, I made a few bows when I was younger, but I wanted a proper one.) I honestly need to persue my interests, I do like surviving, camping and such, I'm just trying to make enough money for other, personal important things. Who knows, maybe when I have the money, I'll have better camp trips, farther away from my home country. Basically, the best preperation I can do right at this moment is reading. Hope to see you after the zombie apocalypse! My Bug Out Bag:
Need many more things, I would love some feedback. My skills and experiances. Simply put? Not much. I have experiance in minor survival (Building a raft, setting up tent, cooking) from years ago, which was a trip for kids. Skills: I can learn quite swiftly if I have to, or want to. I know how to fix software problems (Useful in an apocalypse, right...) I'm a good thinker, I think quick, and logical. I'm a perfectionist, in a way, I will work on something for years untill its perfect, but in small bits. Other than this, I have alot to learn, I'm hoping that I will find things I simply HAVE to know if I want to make it on my own, after learning that I will start on making myself more useful in a team. My plan: Note that this is a work in progress, and that I don't know exactly how I am to find a decent fire arm in my country. 1 - Seeing it coming. 1.1 - The start, first 5 days 1.2 - Travel, day 5 to 8. 1.3 - Preparing for survival, day 9 to 20 1.4 - Survival, day 21 to ??, might be years, decades. 1.5 - Rebuilding, if this is ever possible. 2 - Surprised by the dead. 2.1 - The start, first 30 days. 2.2 - Preparing for travel, day 30 to 35. 2.3 - Travel, day 35 to ~50. 2.4 - Preparing for survival, day 51 to 70. 2.5 - Surviving, day 71 to ??. (See 1.4.) 2.6 - Rebuilding, if that is ever possible. (See 1.5.) 1.1: The Start: The day of the dead has come, and I have seen the signs. I will grab my BOB, and pack up more (I have more time now, so I want to prepare even more.) I will see if my parents don't find me crazy enough to follow me. I will try and see if the local supermarkets, and hunting shop is still reachable, and not too crowded. (This hunting shop sells air-pressure guns, and other less-lethal weapons, but I am not of the right age to buy items here.) and see if I can gather more items of need. In my remaining time, I will search ways of communication, and think of as many manuals, books I could download for additional knowledge. I will also try and find contact with friends and family, warning them of what is to come, and telling them they should try and reach me in my BOL. I will start my travel to the high north of Canada. 1.2: The travel (This place being unknown right now, I am too young to make these travels on own costs, so I can not make up my mind by just cruising through google earth.) I will have no trouble getting a boat somehow here, either renting, buying or stealing one. Using the boat and proper navigation, I will travel to Canada, here I will travel away from the main cities, searching for additional supplies, survivors and fuel. If I find more survivals, we will either find a larger vehicle, or multiple ones (A bus would be perfect, I think it will be lighter on fuel.) At this point I might have to find alternative travel forms, for different terrain. When I am nearing my planned BOL (Where I might or might not have set up some basic supplies like seeds, wood, metal and fuel (this depends on me being able to afford that.)) I will search for long-term survival items, fertilizer, wood, proper working tools, solar panels, light bulbs, lights, fuel, generators, seeds and so on. 1.3: Preparing for survival. I will plant the vegies, maybe find some animals to use as food source (Not for meat, but hopefully for other produce.), and start looking around for any specific plantlife or animals that I could use for resources on daily basis. Then I shall start on building, or modifying the place we will be staying in. The basic idea is to build a sleeping place first, having a place for shelter. Then to build a living room ish place next to that, and a storage room close to the crops. I will draw a basic 'blueprint' on my full idea, will update A.S.A.P. Basic blueprint: 1: The sleeping quarters, this will be built first of basic materials, and improved over time. 2: Living quarters: Chairs and tables for food and other things. Will be built 2nd. 3: Farm grounds, I will make a ditch to channel water to it, and plant whatever can grow good. 4: Stockpiling room, will be made to store the crops and supplies we brought. 5: More advance kitchen, pots, other ingredients will be placed here, stone oven and other. 'Chores': (2): Fence, will be made while Living Quarters are under construction. (3): Bridge to other side, will be made when half of the farm is done. (4): Other side of the fence, Will be made while stockpile room is under construction. I made 2 projects at a time so I can switch between them, or divide the people between them. This way I won't get easily bored, or frustrated. The fencing in the water is so zombies can't get through, but fish can (Maybe half a zombie can get through though..) Fencing can be moved incase we need more space, more buildings will be built if we need it. Highly need of criticism about this one, I am in no way trained in security, building or planning a build. This is only if there is a river near my BOL, if there is not, I'll close off the fence in one time. I worked around the river so I can fish safely. After putting up proper defenses, and having set up a good way to create energy, I will start making proper beds, and seating. At day I will fish, and search for anything usable I can use. At night I will work more on small, indoor chores, and then rest. (I will continiue day to day, feedback and tips will be more than welcome, but keep it nice.)
