Weapons of Choice:. Close Quarters w/human or infected: Katana & Pistol. In my pack (worn when scouting): 1 50 ft coil of rope 1 lighter 2 flashlights 1 small bottle of bleach (The only thing known to kill viruses) 2 50 round boxes of ammo for my pistols 1 extra key for my vehicle (What if you're 10 miles from base and a Zed wrenches the keys from your hand? Really gonna walk all the way back in infected territory?) 1 Basic medkit (Bandaids, antibiotic cream, sterilizing wipes, wound sealant) 1 roll of Duct Tape 1 Contact lens case and bottle of solution 1 small prybar 1 pair small binoculars I believe scouting should always be done in pairs. We've been taught since day 1 of kindergarten the buddy system, right? Use it, always stay within eye contact of eachother, but at the same time remain hidden in your respective spots, one of you get's in trouble with a zed, *boom* your partner takes care of it. You get captured, your partner heads back to base ASAP to get help. Zombie killing playlist: This Suffering ~ Billy Talent Toxicity ~ System of a Down Savior ~ by Rise Against Through the Fire and Flames ~ by DragonForce (The lyrics fit a zombie apocalypse perfectly) Heasdstrong ~ by Trapt ("Back off, I'll take you on!" Love the sound of that) Monster ~ by Skillet Mad World ~ by Michael Andrews When I started thinking way too much about zombies: When I first watched the unholy trilogy. AKA The George A. Romero films Night, Dawn, and Day of the Dead Type of zombies I believe in: 28 days later "Rage" zombies. They're undeniably the most likely to occur. However, if we prepare for the type of Zombies in Brian Keene's "The Rising" We're prepared for anything. PREPARE FOR THE POSSIBILITY OF ZOMBIE ANIMALS!!!! Birds, cats, dogs, horses, fish!!! Everything! Have you ever seen a swarm of 5000+ birds and thought, "Holy F*** if those were zombies I'd shoot myself now..." Favorite zombie book: The Rising, City of the Dead, Dead Sea, all by Brian Keene (Quite graphic, but good reads). Favorite zombie movie: 28 days later. Favorite quote in any zombie movie: "Good? Bad?.... I'm the guy with the gun." ~Ash, Army of Darkness~ Details, Details, details: My “handle” should you look for me on the radio waves: "Grimmjow" or "Badwolf". My location: Lincoln, CA. Will I be staying in my home or headed somewhere else? I'm DEFINITELY leaving home. I'm not staying in this wood & drywall deathtrap!!! I will post on my Facebook and on my home's front door where I am heading when I decide to leave. Only a select few people are coming with me while the others are being told where to meet. Too much of a burden traveling in a big pack. At least this way you stay small until you're at your protected location, and people will show up little by little or not at all. It may seem a little harsh, but if it ensures the survival of you and your MOST loved ones, then so be it. If I'm heading out, how do I plan to get there? I have a Dodge Ram 2500, a Ford Focus, and a 2009 Yamaha FZ1 motorcycle for scouting and getting through tight areas, as well as outrunning raider vehicles with relative ease. My father will ride with mother in the Truck, while I lead the convoy on the motorcycle. Either that or we'll be taking a plane from the local airport. Vehicles will have armed passengers, and depending on how late in the invasion we leave, may be armored with sheet metal, fencing, etc. And I may opt to have the motorcycle towed or be wearing bulletproof armor while riding. Got anyone I want to take with me? About 25 people, consisting of my family, close friends, and their immediate families, (all my friends are zombie savvy thanks to me.) This amount ensures the whole "safety in numbers" thing while simultaneously being manageable. While it is a large group, it is also that many more hands, thus allowing things to get done much faster and allowing us to kill many more Zed's at one time. A little note that will help you with population control in starting out, since you can't take EVERYONE. Tell only your immediate friends and their immediate families to come with your main convoy, then tell your "others" where you're going, so you won't be overcrowded and once you're at your fortified location, people you know will eventually make it there in groups or on their own. That way you won't be traveling in a huge noticeable pack. How will I communicate with the outside world? I plan on bringing multiple sets of long-range walkie talkies, a few CB radios, and everyone's cell phones (They'll work for a little while). All will be charged with solar chargers. We could possibly find a radio tower and set up a broadcasting station. Or we could set up a dish or a broadcasting tower within base. How am I planning to get food and water? Water: A well within our base's walls, rain catches, snow melt, freshwater springs, rivers, or from our stock of water bottles. All (Excluding safe sources such as sealed bottles) will be charcoal/sand filtered and boiled. Food: can be cooked from our supplies, gathered by searching for it in homes/businesses/wilderness, hunting, fishing, raising and breeding deer, rabbits, cows, sheep, and chickens as livestock, planting crops, and wild edibles. What will you do for power? I plan on setting up multiple types of reusable energy resources. A windmill-car alternator combo, a simple hydroelectric turbine, solar panels scavenged from the surrounding areas, and maybe even steam. What’s my weapon of choice? Do you need to reload that thing? Gotta plan for that? Until I find something better, I'll be using a magazine fed semiautomatic .22 rifle. Also, One semi automatic pistol. The rifle needs reloading every 30 shots with my main clip, and every ten after that with my two secondary clips. The semi-auto pistol needs reloading every 12+1 shots/clip (I have 3). I have 1500 rounds of ammo at the moment, but that probably won't last 6 months (I say six months because once I'm inside base I don't expect to have to use much ammo except during supply runs) So I have come up with a solution, we are going to have a blacksmith, he will make bullets, melee weapons, tools, nails/screws, horse shoes, etc. So we won't run out of bullets until we run out of metal. (We'll set up shell catchers for the guns) Or should that not work, we'll build recurve bows and crossbows and have daily practice and a huge stock of arrows/bolts for use. Am I willing to hook up with other survivors? Yes, but only if they are mentally healthy and willing to allow one of my groups Medical officers (of the same sex) to check them EVERYWHERE for bites or signs of infection. Then they will be quarantined for 3 days to make sure they remain uninfected. (Quarantine length dependent upon what we know about infection.) My proficient weapons:
Pets: (We might have enough room... I don't know if I could not take them + they're useful for hunting, riding, etc.) 2 Horses: (Link: A Saddlebred Arabian & Sunny: A Belgian Half-linger) put in the horse trailer. 3 Golden retrievers & a miniature schnauzer: Skip, Jenna, Bodie & Casper. 1 Cat: Dusty, a himilayan-persian mix 2 Blue & Gold Macaws, Choco (chalk-o) & Bobo (The only thing is sometimes they yell REALLY LOUD for long periods of time. That's not good for keeping our position secret. We may just set them free) My Ferret: Loki, I don't have him yet, but I'm going to train him and he will be a very skilled and clever little prick. I'll train him to stay in my hood or on my shoulder, and he'll sleeps in a little custom backpack I made for him. Hell also trained to bring me things I point laser pointer at, which is very useful. I can see the whole, "send the pet to get the keys to the jail cell" scenario, now. Not to mention he'll be very funny, and very mischievious. He'd keep up moral just by being his usual idiot self. Vehicles: 2005 Dodge Ram 2500: The truck is the closest thing we have to an armored vehicle. My mother will drive this, which will contain all our supplies, some of our gear, all our animals in the camper shell on the back, and our horses in the trailer. It will be equipped with a CB radio, and armored with metal sheeting/bars welded over the windows, etc. if we have enough time. 2004 Ford Focus: Second mode of transportation to be driven by my dad. It's small, but if the speedometer is telling the truth I can outspeed any type of zombie....unless they're intelligent enough to drive....... 2009 Yamaha FZ1: My yamaha is an amazingly fast, amazingly powerful machine, not to mention F***ing bad-ass looking. This is the vehicle I will be using, leading the convoy. I can use it to quickly get out of areas through the smallest of openings, and even outspeed raiders in their vehicles. Many roads and highways will have abandoned cars on them and it's impossible to get through that with another car, that's why you always need to have dirtbikes and motorcycles on hand. Motorcycles also give the advantage of stealth depending on the noise put out of your brand. I kinda imagine fighting raiders off of it like a knight on a horse. If they were using melee weapons that is. On the zombie survival quiz on Newgrounds I got an: A on Physical A on Mental Z on Experience F on emotional (Actually good, means I don't hesitate to kill a friend who's been infected) Overall I got a Z+ (The best score U can get on it) According to this site I have a 97% chance of surviving the zombie apocalypse http://www.oneplusyou.com/bb/zombie The BEST zombie comic ever: http://www.thezombiehunters.com/index.php?strip_id=1
