Welcome ~~~~~~~~~ It appears you have stumbled across my dark little corner of the ZSDW, welcome to my profile! My name is Braydon, I'm 18 years of age and I live in Queensland Australia. I enjoy making things, so if you are interested in seeing some of my creations scroll down to the bottom of the page! I post photos quite regularly of some of the things I have built. I've always been interested in Zombie fiction, it's been a year or so now that I've actually been using Zombie Fiction as a fun means of prepping for real disasters. Anyways, I hope you enjoy reading and viewing my profile. "Come on! Anybody hungry! Mr CrocodileCommando himself helped me design this knife for him for his next deployment in the jungles of Brunei. I'll be looking forward to hearing how it fares against some of the harshest environment on Earth. This knife is made from 1095 hi-carbon steel and is the first knife I'll be passing on. The knife has numerous features to help CrocCommando survive the jungles of Brunei. These include a skull cracker / glass breaker pommel for all his bone crunching needs, a saw back to help him saw through wood and bone, an unsharpened swedge which allows for additional penetration power (Trust me, my thumb learned this the hard way.), a 5 inch blade and a 4 inch handle to accommodate large hands and a large belly on the knife, which will allow him to slice, skin and cut whatever he needs to cut. The knife is made from 5/32'' steel, which should be tough enough to withstand most of what Brunei can throw at it. The handle is made from Red&Grey micarta which has been sealed with an additional layer of fiberglass resin to protect it from water. The handle is also completely removable, should he need to clean mud, dirt and dust from underneath the scales. FK Piranha Another smaller sized neck knife made from 1095 hi-carbon steel. This knife features a modified wharnecliff shape that accommodates a 3 finger grip. The handle scales on the knife are made from homemade blue&black micarta. The finish on the blade is a vinegar patina with a light 600 grit sand down afterwards, this gives the knife a real post apocalyptic look when inspected closely. The knife has a unique duel grind with one side being a high convex and the other being a subtle flat grind. The knife also has a nice grey Kydex sheath that can be worn around the neck or in other options. FK Black Rhino This friction folder is made from 1095 hi-carbon steel and features a classic drop point style blade with belly from the start of the blade all the way to the tip. I hadn't made a regular shaped knife so I thought I'd make a drop point friction folder. There are two holes drilled, one in the tang of the knife and one in the handle. When the knife is opened the wholes line up perfectly, thus allowing a stick, piece of cord or something else to be placed into the gap. This turns the knife into a virtual fixed blade allowing you to do work without worrying about the knife closing on your hand. FK Hawkeblade Made from 1095 hi-carbon steel, I made it to be a versatile survival tool. The original idea was to have a knife that could be lashed to a branch to be used as an improvised tomahawk head, however I decided to make the knife even more versatile. I designed it to be used as a tomahawk, spade, knife, flat head screw driver, saw, bottle opener, arrow straightener and an adz. After rigorous testing of this knife I have decided that a Mk.II will be made with updated features! I'll upload some more pictures of it in use soon. FK Toothpick Made from hardened and tempered 1095 carbon steel, I made this knife to be a convenient little utility knife that you can throw in your BOB and forget about, at only 0.8 of an ounce you won't even know it's there. The handle area is wrapped with 550 cord and features two shallow finger choils which allow the knife to fit snugly in a 3 finger grip. I made this knife a camouflage kydex sheath that can be worn around the neck. FK Fireshroud Friction Folder This was my first attempt at a folding knife. It seemed fitting to start out with something simple, so I decided to go with a Friction Folder design. The knife is heat treated 1095 carbon steel. Blade length is right on 2 inches, handle length is 2.5 inches which allows the knife to sit snugly in a 3 finger grip. The blade shape is a Wharncliffe with a unique combination grind, one side is a hollow grind and the other is a saber grind, this allows for a very sharp cutting edge. The folder can be used for self defense when the folder is closed also, as the tang can be used for striking. The handle scales are made from homemade red and dark grey micarta. I mucked around a little with the finish on the knife, first I put a satin finish on it and then acid washed a flame pattern onto the blade. Other Gear Braydon's Survival Hatchet. I found an old beat up hatchet underneath my house and decided to modify it a little. I modified this hatchet to be suited for survival, the handle is wrapped with Paracord and I drilled a hole just big enough to fit a magnesium striker in the butt of the hatchet. Underneath the Paracord wrap I have 30ft of fishing line, 4 fishing hooks, 5 matches, 1 match striking pad, 1 razor blade and 4 paper clips. (Never know when paperclips may come in handy.)
