Welcome to our site!1

Hey y'all! Buttons McD here. Texas mom of 3 and admitted Zombie obsessor. Love Zombie movies and OFTEN dream about Z-day. It's weird and I wonder if anyone else does that....on a regular basis (at least twice a month). I love to watch Zombie movies, new ones and old ones. My eldest has a taste for Z's (pa-rump-pump!) as well.

Unlike the military or paramilitary types here, my survival plan will be more for the layman. I love those "Tackleberry" and "Alpha Dog" outlooks, but it really won't work for my situation. I'm fortunate to be married to Mr. McD, a first responder and he gladly goes along with my Zombie thoughts. Family drives can often be used for noting good Z-day hiding places and routes.

NEW YEAR

Got the kiddies riled up about making their bug-out-bags. They've been talking up the things they're gonna pack. After a few suggestions, they've realized they're not gonna drag along their Barbies and G.I. Joe collections! "pickles" and Elvis" McD are both 7 years old, so it's become a sort of game for them to come up with smart, utilitarian choices. Of course, Mom & Dad will make the final B.O.B. approvals.

*******About Me*******
When I started thinking way too much about zombies: Hard to say, probably a culmination of hurricane survivals (live in Gulf Coast), being married to a first responder (firefighter) and watching 28 Days Later.

What started my zombie fixation: it's a lifelong fixation. I've always loved horror movies and, even as a kid, would think the protagonists could have done more to survive. I think Return ofLD really sealed the deal.
Favorite zombie book: World War Z. Cell by S.King also good...but sorta predictable King story
Favorite zombie movie: Tough, but may have to go with Dawn of the Dead 2004. Runners Up: NotLD, 28 Days Later, Return otLD and King of the Zombies. Worst: Zombie Diaries
Favorite quote in any zombie movie: you can be the boss down there, I'M the boss up here!

*******My Survival Plan:*******
My “handle” should you look for you on the radio waves or web:
My location: Houston/Galveston
Is my plan dependent on zombies in your home town, or anywhere? Anywhere really. Steps are dependant of Zombie outbreak location and level
Will I be staying in my home or headed somewhere else? somewhere else, major metro area here.
If I'm heading out, how do I plan to get there? Chevy Truck w/camper top
Got anyone I want to take with me? hubby, kids (I know they slow ya down but, hey man, they're my kids).
How will I communicate with the outside world, or do I plan to go the hermit route? internet. maybe CB
How am I planning to get food and water? we are currently stocked up on water and nonperishables
What’s my weapon of choice? Do you need to reload that thing? Gotta plan for that? Gun. load ALL guns. shoot as needed. kids reload while I'm shooting. (see, theyre' good for something!). melee: Gerber Gator Axe and Gerber Gator Axe II
Got a survival philosophy? don't get dead
Am I willing to hook up with other survivors? yes with the likes of Michael from DoD 2004 (leader, patient, not a jerk) or Ben from NotLD for same reasons.
Is my plan based on a book/movie/blog/scientist other survivors may have heard of? just movies for now since that's what got me started on thinking about Z-day.
