About Me:

I'm not that much of a serious prepper, since at the moment I have more important things to deal with, and not enough time do deal with prepping. However I'm aware that a shtf scenario or even a complete apocalypse could happen, so I figure its better to at least have made an effort to try and prepare. I'm 15 at the moment. Those from the irc probably know me better as Rafiki or Snusmumriken. :D
BIO
I live in the UK, south London (suburbs), I practice eskrima (a filipino martial art), I'm in pretty good physical condition, I was born in 1997, I'm a guy. I'm quite clever for my age (in like the top 5% of the population I think (supposedly)). I go cycling and running a fair amount, and every school-day I walk about 5-6 miles carrying a heavy school bag. My sprinting isn't great (100m - 12.9 seconds) but I can keep a steady pace over a long time. I can walk for ages, in poor conditions with little or no food (walked 10 miles through wet English countryside, had no water, ate only a chocolate bar, only had 4 hours of sleep) so hopefully if it comes to a long drawn out trek I'll manage quite well. I can read maps easily, I'm fairly good at navigation. If I didn't have a map or compass, I could navigate roughly by the stars and the sun (I take GCSE Astronomy), and I know how to make a compass.
EQUIPMENT
Weapons I Have:A Pair of rattan sticks, garden tools. Due to my current situation (UK, a minor, very over-protective parents) I'm unable to get any serious forms of weaponry. NEW WEAPON: Cold Steel Bushman Knife, see BOB for pictures.
B.O.B-Unfinished
OS Maps
Wrench
Bottle Opener
Tissues
Hankerchief
Duct Tape
First-Aid Kit: Plasters, Tissues, Bite/Sting Relief, Allergy tablets, Cotton buds, tweezers
Lens Wipes (for my glasses)
Underwear
Matches
Flint + Steel
Candles
Swiss Army Knife
Paracord 50ft
SAS Survival Guide
Dynamo Torch
Maglite
Gerber Multi-tool
Compass
Water Purification Tablets x50 (One tablet - one litre)
Energy bars and two 750ml bottles of water (energy bars rotated monthly, water weekly)
Paper + pencil
Plastic knife, fork, spoon and bowl.
Binoculars
Toothbrush + Toothpaste
Cold Steel Bushman with sheath

Things on the list to obtain:
- A lighter
- A better weapon
- More food + water
- A better first aid kit
Things in my house
About 10 sleeping bags
A 8-man tent, but could be stretched for 12 to sleep in.
Lots more torches.
Matches, candles, and a lighter
Batteries
Much better first-aid supplies.
A lot more canned food (we were running out last winter due to heavy snow, since then my mum has started to store more canned food :D )
We have many trees in our garden, so that gives us lots of firewood and possible building supplies in the long run.

THE PLAN
Improvise. Until I'm older and have complete control over my life, I don't see much point making long plans. Since I'm still young, my parents will probably still maintain control over me during an apocalypse. Even if they didn't, I would probably still rather stay with them (because they're bloody family, screw all the other 10-15 year olds who are like 'my family are losers i'll abandon them'). The most I could hope to do is convince my parents not to do something silly (like go to the supermarket, or any of the other big bad ideas).
The Defense
My house is very impractical to defend.
- Two windows at the front that if smashed could let in 2 or 3 people at a time each.
- At the back of the house, two sets of big glass double-doors, with glass windows either side of them. If smashed could let in crowds.
- The back door has a window that if smashed, allows access to the bolts and the lock.
My only respite is that the front door is fairly sturdy, and even if they smashed the small window in it, they wouldn't be able to reach through and unbolt it. Also in regards to the windows at the front of the house, they both lead into rooms that can be locked.
So for defending the house, my best bet would be to border up the front windows with the little supply of wood we have in the garage and shed. Rather than using more to try and border up the back windows (a foolish task to attempt) I would try and rig some kind of barricade on the stairs. We already have one of those baby-gate things on it, I figure if I nail it in securely it should at least slow an intruder down.
As previously stated, I have little to use as weaponry for home defense, so it would be down to the family using kitchen and garden utensils. However there are 7 of us plus a large dog to defend with (assuming everyone lives). The only person I feel I would doubt in a fight is my youngest brother who is 6. The other two, although both younger than me, if armed would be able to help.

Family
Odds are, at my age, I'll be following my parents. Not really much choice in the matter. They're probably not the best suited to survival, but thats just bad luck for me. Even if they tell me I can do whatever I want, I love them, so I'll be staying with them. Hopefully they'll be willing to listen to any advice I give in some situations.

Long-term Survival
I own no land or property whatsoever, so I have no where to build an actual long term BOL. If I could, I can think of a few places nearby that could work, but I don't own them so I'm not planning on being able to have them. I have no skill in farming, crafting or any of the other skills needed to live off the land. For my part if i survived long enough to be thinking about rebuilding, I would be best finding a larger group I can tag along with to learn from.

Bug-out Vehicle
My feet and my bike. Not the greatest choice in options, but I can rely on both. I know the basics of driving cars, and I think if it came to it I could drive one fairly easily (my dad lets me drive occasionally if we're in an empty road or carpark). I'm also a decent horse-rider, so if I find one, then good for me.
