My Position On Running For Moderator:

Our community has some of the finest staff I've ever seen and it's made all the more impressive by the fact that they are both volunteer and community picked.
That said however I notice that after every election many of the new staff seem to drop off the public boards and they seem to enjoy the site somewhat less.
I have three theories.
1: Because the staff put so much more work into the site by the time they are done they have gotten their ZSDW fix for the day without ever showing up.
2: Those who are promoted "enjoy" increased Real Life activity that draws them elsewhere.
3: The mod position was cursed by O-Doul's grandma.
Whatever the reason I see this site as something of a way to let off steam and quite frankly I can only do that because I am not staff.
The staff is the face of the ZSDW and they cannot have someone like me (who is known for disturbing the peace) in a peacekeeper role.
Yes I'm a senior member and yes I have an ungodly number of posts but honestly the task doesn't suit me. It requires a very even temperament and that is not me by a long stretch.
And more than that trying to corral the rambunctious user base sounds like trying to catch a rampaging Landshark with a butterfly net.
