Howdy everybody! This is going to be a page dedicated to all the random survival tips you have, that aren't thread-Worthy.

1: Most of you probably know this, but fill EVERY container you have access to with water. sinks, bathtubs, bottles, that sort of stuff. But here's a few you might not have considered.

Rubbermaid style storage tubs- By this, I mean those big plastic containers that you may have for storing stuff in a closet. Those can store and enormous amount of water, so empty out everything in them, clean them of dust, and fill them up.

Trash Cans- This may sound stupid at first, but read the whole paragraph. You may be in a situation where you need water for a job such as flushing toilets, cement work maybe, where you would not want to waste drinkable water. They're pretty damn big, and would work decent outside as they can collect water.

2: I believe you can still charge cell phones, MP3 players, and possibly laptops from cars, provided you have the correct adaptor and the battery on the device and the vehicle is fine, Which is a cheaper, while not as long term, alternative to solar mats or electric generators. Also, car batteries may be found in abandoned cars if you're lucky

3: A good way to barricade, superior to simply boarding the windows with 2x4s, is to build a brace system with plywood covering the entire window. Simply nail a plywood sheet above the whole window, then nail 2x4s as a brace.
In addition to some additional protection, it helps keep movement in your house/compound less noticeable, and keeps snakes and small animals out.

4: Another thing on barricading: If you have one of those giant windows that takes up a **** ton of space, consider this technique. Have your helper hold chain link, or any other metal style fencing up against the wall,.
