That'w what I thought but I wanted to know if someone had contrary information. Personnally I had a plan to Survive on the Seattle Lockes and If I wanted water I would have to filter that Water like 1000 times because of all the boat fuel and crap.

On water De-Com/Filter. Water mains and sewer main often run next to each other and threw the same under ground " vaults" . So if something big happens and they both break, you could very well still have water at your house but it is contaminated. Turn off the power to your water heater and close the water inlet valve. By opening the pressure release valve on the top, after it cools down, you can drain out the 40 or so gallons of pure water from the tank using the faccet on the bottom. If you are careful, using the 1 gal. of per day per person idea, that by its self is 40 days of water. When you resupply food you can drain other peoples water tanks as well.
