About Me: This world is about to fall flat on its face. The world pumps up the captured CO2 from eons gone by just to burn it and dump all that crap back in our atmosphere. Most of the farms in the United States grow 'food' you can't even eat without heavy processing. The world economy is built upon fossil fuels which by their very nature are finite. Therefore our culture, our world itself is finite as well. Everyone seems to know that we're destroying the world, destroying ourselves and setting civilization as we know it up for a collapse of monumental proportions. Yet no one can do anything about it. There are enough people that just don't care that they'll see the system of self-destruction continues to exist until the bitter end. So soon, maybe in our own lifetimes, the world will end. Knowing this it's almost romantic to believe civilization's end will come about due to a plague of diseased corpses. In a way, we're consuming ourselves already. Like Sarah Connor glimpsing the future, I plan ahead so I and my offspring can survive the upheaval that's yet to come. What started my zombie fixation: I've always been aware of zombies, since a child. They were either silly cartoon characters going after brains or terrifying movies that made me cover my eyes. As I grew older, fear turned to interest, interest turned to fascination. They make a predictable yet terrifying enemy, something that we've never encountered before. Nowdays I play just about every zombie-related game I can find, Left 4 Dead being the most fun. Favorite zombie book: It has to be the Max Brooks - Zombie Survival Guide. Its deadpan depiction of the zombie apocalypse and how to survive it is as entertaining as any fictional story. It lets your own mind conjure the scenarios. The sequel World War Z offers a fictional account of the great zombie war and depicts humanity's response rather well. Favorite zombie movie: The Dawn of the Dead remake was great. I liked 28 Weeks Later. (I can't look at Dr. Rush on Stargate Universe without imagining him tearing someone's throat out with his teeth now. xD) Zombieland was comical and not very realistic, but fun nonetheless. Favorite quotes in any zombie GAME: Francis: "I'm not gonna let these vampires beat me...." Louis: "They're not vampires man, they're zombies!" Bill: "I'm going to see peace on earth if I have to kill every last one of these bastards with my bare god damn hands!" Zoey: "What a dick..." (I heard that! Ding dong! Dinner's served!) Coach: "I could go for a whole pizza, roll it up and eat it sub style!" Nick: "Shh, I hear my ex-wife." Rochelle: "Great Lincoln's mullet!" Ellis: "D'you know what suck the heads means?" Survival Setup Synopsis: If possible, I'll bug in for a period of time and subsist on the Second Harvest foodstuffs my elderly parents receive. Nonperishable items are stocked in back closet. If utilities fail, will pack up what food can't be carried and stash the rest. Bug out will put my amateurish bush-crafting knowledge to the test. Multiple ways of making fire will be packed and water purification tablets with canteen will keep me hydrated for at least a time. Jerky and powerbars will sustain my food requirements as I travel. I hope to either stay off the radar if full-on riots are happening and hopefully find a group to travel with. Otherwise I'll bring my 10/22 into the woods and shoot squirrels and other small animals to eat. Final result desired if total breakdown happens: Find a defensible farm or small township area community to join and grow sustainable food until some sort of order can be restored. 'Hermit' mode should be temporary at best. Current Kit:
