What Started Zombie Fascination: Honestly as a kid zombies where the only monster that scared me. Thriller scared the crap out of me (hey I was 4) and the original Night of the Living Dead (saw it at 5) gave me nightmares for years. since the point of a horror movie was to scare you I loved it. I still love it.

Bug Out Bag-This is ALL important! You must have a good bag to begin with.
Spam- this stuff lasts damn near forever and meat may be hard to come by unless you are a skilled hunter.
Ka-Bar-Fantastic do it all knife. The smaller version would also work well in your Bug Out Bag.
Zombaton: A nifty quick attack club I whipped up. Wont work for smashing the mass hoards of Zs but it may be enough of a backup weapon to get you from point A to B like your front door to your car or something like that
Wather p22: This is a Nifty little handgun. Got one few months ago and I just love it.
