About Me: If you are reading this, chances are I've pissed you off in some way. Just for the record, I don't tend to sugar-coat my words, I tell it the way I see it. I don't have many illusions when it comes to survival - I will probably end up as Zed chow, but at least I can better my chances by preparing now. On the island, but phase 1 begins as soon as news reaches me. Will I be staying in my home or headed somewhere else? Staying in my house to start with, barricading most of the entrances, but wreck up the room facing the road, smash the window, kick the furniture over, spread a little (fake) blood about... All so it looks like the house is empty and of no interest to raiders etc... Once 'The Panic', and the main feast are over, retreat to BOL, and stay there til I come up with a better plan. If I'm heading out, how do I plan to get there? Mountain bike, Horse, or on foot Got anyone I want to take with me? Family if they want to come, though most likely chow. Friends live too far away to get to me in time, but after 'The Panic', if they are still alive and kicking, they are welcome to join forces with us, after the obligatory strip-check. How will I communicate with the outside world, or do I plan to go the hermit route? No communicating unless someone else starts it. Keep very hush-hush about our numbers, supplies, weapons etc... in case of raiders. How am I planning to get food and water? Big bottles of mineral water, and after they run out: Rain, Boreholes, and wells, filtered and purified of course. What’s my weapon of choice? Do you need to reload that thing? Gotta plan for that? I currently have only basic melee weapons, such as claw hammers, but plan to get a crossbow later in the year. As this is the UK, guns are very hard to come by, but I plan to join a target shooting club where they use .22s and .17HMR rifles. UPDATE: As soon as I scrounge up enough cash, looking for a sword, possibly a Cold Steel Hand & 1/2, or a Grosse Messier. Other than that, maybe a warhammer. Perhaps I can improvise one from parts. Hmmm.... Got a survival philosophy? If they can't see/hear you, they can't eat you. Am I willing to hook up with other survivors? Depends on their personality, supplies, wounded, etc... Is my plan based on a book/movie/blog/scientist other survivors may have heard of? Not that I am aware of.
