About Me: When I started thinking way too much about zombies: I think after watching "Resident Evil." It grew from there. What started my zombie fixation: After "28 Days Later." Best zombie movie ever. Favorite zombie book: I've only ever read Brooks' Survival Guide Favorite zombie movie: "28 Days Later." Favorite quote in any zombie movie: Don't have one. Once I finish my zombie novel, I'll let you all add your favorite quote from that, kk? :) My Survival Plan: My “handle” should you look for you on the radio waves or web: ISammael (pronounced Eye Sam-ee-ul)My location: Mid-Hudson Valley, NY Is my plan dependent on zombies in your home town, or anywhere? Home town, I guess. Zombies are interesting, but I like any post-apocalyptic and survivalist genre. That last started with Gary Paulson's "Hatchet," which I am old enough to have read the first printing. Will I be staying in my home or headed somewhere else? Staying in my home. Its where my supplies are. Buuuut I am in a suburb, so there's likely to be lots of zeds running around. I may have to ditch, so my BOB will be ready to go. If I'm heading out, how do I plan to get there? Manpower locomoter. Renewable energy, baby. Got anyone I want to take with me? Oh, yah. How will I communicate with the outside world, or do I plan to go the hermit route? Hermit, hopefully. I'm more afeared of the response of civilization's remnant than the zombies. How am I planning to get food and water? Survival techniques. I grow my own. What’s my weapon of choice? Do you need to reload that thing? Gotta plan for that? I am hoping to buy a Mosin-Nagant carbine and a Sig p229 for my firearms. The M-N because I read about it here, the p229 because I like the way it feels in my hand, and I've used it since my Airsoft days. They both need to be reloaded. I also plan on stockpiling ammo, but will have a couple of multi-purpose melee tools should I run out (which is likely in any type of prolonged situation) Got a survival philosophy? Caution first, even if it means I move slower than a sniper. Am I willing to hook up with other survivors? Almost only if I've known them before, or see someone from here. WAY too many psychological issues of picking up strangers. Not to mention I'm likely to be more prepared and supplied than them, unless I had to bug out. Is my plan based on a book/movie/blog/scientist other survivors may have heard of? Not necessarily. I suppose if they've visited this site. However, I really think a lot of conversation here is immaturely geared towards ideal situations or even unlikely situations (how many people here say they're going to get a half track or an armored car, and all other plans are contingent on this? Likely these will be quite difficult to obtain). Ergo, this is how I hope to contribute to this site. I won't get personal, so please don't take my suggestions or critiques personally. I just want to help you to survive so we can rebuild after it's over.
