No, headed elsewhere, when I bug out initially, the rig will be stockpiled already, girlfriend, kids and dogs into the vehicle...first stop is the local gun store right down the street from my house...stop with the yammering right there and the nay saying and listen up...this is a small gun store, old building and while the windows and doors are state of the art the roof is a standard wood shingle roof and inside the store, the ceiling is suspended, all you need is an electric sawsall with a full battery...night time insurgence would be ideal, but I will storm this place in the middle of the day if it goes down like that, day time through the front door shooting if I have too, or nighttime through the roof, going through the roof is ideal as well because the building is already fortified, I will gather as much ammunition as I can, (.410, 12 ga, 9mm, .45 Long Colt, .45ACP, .44 Mag, .233 Rem, .308 Win, .300 Win, .338 Lapua Magnum) Now ideally I will have already purchased all of my weapons of choice but those that have not been bought, will be supplemented with whatever is available at the gun store as well as, gun cleaning supplies, a range finder, spotting scope, a monocular and binoculars...most importantly a re-loader, spare brass, primers, powder, loads, shot shells, primers, slugs, shot, wadding...and anything else that isn't nailed down...I know what your thinking...everyone's gonna have the same idea, what about the owner, what about all those other people... on Z day they're no longer people, they become obstacles, they become a direct threat to my ability to survive and keep those close to me alive, direct threats are put down. Once we are under way, depending on travel conditions there are 2 options for places to retreat to; 1st is the abandoned/decommissioned S-20 Nike Missile Base, there are 2 locations at S-20, the Integrated Fire Control Area (IFC) which has a bunker or the actual magazine where the missiles were located, personally I would prefer the magazine, 1 personnel hatch and one magazine maintenance hatch, the mechanism that once opened the missile door and the elevator that raised them has long ago been removed, if my memory serves there are 4 such magazines at S-20, the hatches are under about 4 feet of dirt and will probably need to be forced (arc welder/plasma cutter) and then refitted with locks, the magazines themselves lie about 30' underground and are roughly 50' in length and 60' wide The S-03 Site in Bothell is closer to my home but in a much more densely populated area, the same goes for the S 13/14 site in Redmond, one thing to note about the Bothell/Redmond site's though is that there are above ground structures still standing and bunkers at the IFC site as well as the launch site's, these would make for good staging areas, vehicle storage and repair, leaving the bunkers for munitions storage, dry goods and fall back and lock down, the 3 I've mentioned here are the closest ones to me...but there are 17 other locations just in the state of Washington...most of these sites were built in the 50's and decommissioned between 1964 and 1974, check your own area here is a map of the "ring of steel" If I'm heading out, how do I plan to get there? Armored Vehicles, Specs below, I will write more later on how I plan to purchase and or build one of these riot trucks. The Unimog and Trailer w/bike are more easily obtained or purchased, unarmored and spendy, the one I've shown below is actually owned by a Z-day believer, given funds and enough time, I would like to follow his lead, if the proverbial Sh!t hit's the fan before I have time to procure an armored vehicle the the 08' Charger R/T will do the trick initially, I would then say after laying claim to my initial bug out location that getting my hands on an armored vehicle for supply gathering is an absolute top priority. Got anyone I want to take with me? Girlfriend, my 2 daughters and my dogs (2 150 lb Cane Corso's Achilles and Bakari) A few relatives and close friends if time is available to get word to them and have them rendezvous at the missile base How will I communicate with the outside world, or do I plan to go the hermit route? 2 way l.o.s. radios long term, cell phones and possibly s.a.t. phones short term as they won't last, neither will the net How am I planning to get food and water? Have purchased 12 cases of MRE 312's (144 meals, that's 36 meals for the 4 main people in my group...my 2 daughters, my girlfriend and myself...others if they show will have to supply there own food) these are meals for short term survival 12 to 36 days and so I have started stockpiling Ark and Super Ark survival kits for the long haul (details about the Ark kits located in my B.O.B. section) re-supply is big on my agenda so depending on the initial spread of the outbreak we will go out as often as possible to obtain additional supplies, vehicles, fuel...etc...etc... What’s my weapon of choice? Do you need to reload that thing? Gotta plan for that? Mossberg 590A1 SPX Special Purpose 12 ga 9 round pump shotgun and my Sig Sauer P226 Navy 9mm both will drop Z's and raiders alike with zero hitches...and they also happen to be chambered in 2 of the most widely used caliber's out there, I will stock pile as many rounds and shells as possibly for my current weapons and future weapons as they are purchased, I would like to get my hands on a re-loader and shaker as well as spare brass, shells, primers, slugs, shot, wad and powder a.s.a.p. and start to load my own...also good to have post z-day Got a survival philosophy? ...where Stale Skins are concerned, stay on the move, if it's a 100 yards away do not engage, stay unseen, keep quiet, keep them scattered, kill the strays... where Raiders are concerned...this is a kill or be killed Z-poch world, if you and yours want what me and mine have...you had better be prepared to die for it, if your intentions are not clear, then superior firepower is the answer, I will drop you like a bad habit..I will not hesitate to shoot first and wonder later...I will do whatever it takes to protect those who are with me...trust me, your life will never be more important than my own, my loved ones, not even my dogs, they show more loyalty than most humans. Am I willing to hook up with other survivors? Possibly ________________________________________________ Melee-Weapons: These are my personal weapons of choice for last ditch efforts to save my life against Zed head's or raiders; Now while the Combat Knife and Machete are useful tool's whether in camp or killing Flesh Feaster's, I have chosen them as killing weapons, I can tell you that after I stick one of these into the living dead or cleave one's head with the Machete, I won't be cooking or eating with them. The Gun-Stock War Club's use is obvious and should need no explanation, my ancestors used these quite proficiently, the one I have chosen is nearly indestructible as it is made from polypropylene and has lot's of smooth edges, nothing to hang up on zombie skulls. All 3 of these items are easily obtainable, if you are at all like me and are buying items long before you have to try to loot them from somewhere, be prepared ahead of time, save your money, buy what you need now. I will not go into great detail about the "why's" and "what not's" as to how come I have chosen these firearm's, I am an avid shooter and have handled all of these weapons specifically and cannot be swayed one way or the other about there performance, if you have not handled them and fired them yourself do not pretend to know what you're talking about, I have chosen them for knock down power, the ease of acquiring or reloading ammunition, ease of field strip, cleaning and repair, no glock's here, IMO they are crap, they cannot be safetied while cocked and locked and if your walking around without one in the chamber....well your a dumbass...also anyone of these firearm's will do nicely when it comes time to eat a bullet yourself unless of course you don't have the sack and you become one of them...in that case, I promise to make it quick and painless...to a degree...
