Hello ZStalker. I was with 3/5 Weapons Co. from 87' till 93. Was 0351 anti-armor/demolitions (aka Assaultman). Went to area 62 for one year before becoming a Navy trained FMF/ SF-IDC in the Coast Guard back in 94'. Mostly Camp P. But I've been around. Been to the Stumps, Oki, Japan, Gitmo, UAE, Saudi, Iraq, Panama, Africa... you get the picture. Infantry moves a lot eh? I'm still active. Been stationed in Cali, Florida, Hawaii... Makes me wish I had flipped over to the Guard sooner. :p Welcome aboard brother. Always glad to have another guy that smalls like cordite in here. ~Ironback |

Ironback, I just sent you a message asking the same thing then I saw this here. I enlisted when I was 17, did about a year of training in Pensacola, Lemoore Cali, and was stationed in Beaufort with VMFA 115 (f-18 engine mech). Deployed to OIF in 2008 with them, all over Al Anbar, got back went to Quantico for MSG school and doing that whole thing now. Spent 19 months in Venezuela and now I am in Berlin. Finish here and follow up with one more post, hopefully Afghanistan and then I say hello to the civilian world.

Hello USMCBoyer,And I had just sent you a reply right before I saw your post here. I was a grunt (aka: ground pounder, self propelled sandbag, bullet sponge... ) in the Corp. Now I'm an Independant Duty Corpsman. At work they call me "Doc" or "Chief" these days. I miss the Corp at times, but wouldn't trade what I am for anything. |
