About Me: When I started thinking way too much about zombies: Quite a few years ago. Growing up in a survivalist type household does that too you. Though I doubt zombies were what my parents had in mind when teaching me about dire times. What started my zombie fixation: Extreme zombie fixation: The Zombie Survival Guide Favorite zombie book: WWZ and The Stand by Stephen King (not really zombie but viral related) Favorite zombie movie: Shaun of the Dead: because it makes light of a serious situation. Survival through humor, either cry or laugh. The latter being the most productive and morally uplifting. Favorite quote in any zombie movie: "Where are you, you spongy, yellow, delicious, bastards?!": Zombieland- Tallahassee (only because that would be something I'de say lol) My Survival Plan: My “handle” should you look for me on the radio waves or web: Morayna, Jade, Rogue57 My location: South of Akron, Ohio Is my plan dependent on zombies in your home town, or anywhere? Both. Multiple plans for many variables. Will I be staying in my home or headed somewhere else? Depends on outbreak location and size. But my home is not easily defendable. If I'm heading out, how do I plan to get there? Dependant on outbreak. Preferred method would be hiking or atv, using a vehicle only if necessary or time/location permits. I hate making a big target of myself especially in panic situations. Got anyone I want to take with me? My boyfriend. However, our situation, bug-out-plan, etc are all subject to change at a moments notice (have written up contingency plans of course) for two very important reasons. 1) He works 3rd shift -midnight to 8am- 30 miles from our home, and 2) He is Type 1 diabetic, dependant on insulin. If need be, we will forego our 1st BOL, in the long run, for his needs to keep close to medical sources that may still be available or scrounged for. I have 3 cats, but am not taking them with me. They are really useless (albeit cute) and are scared of the outdoors. I also don't leave immediately near my mom, dad, or sister. Would attempt to contact but not join up with until a later date. How will I communicate with the outside world, or do I plan to go the hermit route? Semi-hermit. Will keep tabs on outside world but no participation unless necessary. How am I planning to get food and water? Am experienced in hunting, fishing and finding water in the wild. Will use that if necessary. Have backstocked some of each though and 1st BOL is well stocked, MRE's, jugs of water, and natural well water/fresh game are plentiful on the property. What’s my weapon of choice? Do you need to reload that thing? Gotta plan for that? Right now, since my dad (also extremely survival minded) is working on getting a small handgun and shotgun I'm comfortable with (not a lot of upper body strength and only 5'2" lol) I stick with any of the knives that I've got. These are not collectibles and include (my faves) a large hunting/gutting knife, FGX boot blade, and a 3' long, thick bamboo pole that doubles as a steel sword inside. Once at my 1st BOL though, there will be plenty of firearms, and those that I can manage, since it will be a stable defensive strategy, not running and defending. Got a survival philosophy? Sacrifices will sometimes have to be made even if they are between the lesser of two evils, show no mercy if the situation is dire and lives depend on it because you will be shown none in return, and never ever give up. Am I willing to hook up with other survivors? It depends on the situation (if I needed assistance etc) and then their ability to be semi-self-sufficient. If after hooking up with others on a trial basis, and they have nothing to offer, are prone to doing little but whine about their current situation, and won't think things through I'll ditch them immediately. Am not completely against a small party (no more then 10) if the members are all of similar mindset. Is my plan based on a book/movie/blog/scientist other survivors may have heard of? Not really. Gathered bits and pieces from here and there and have gotten some "words of wisdom" from my dad on the matter. Being as how I'm extremely new to this profile (not the website, been shadowing for awhile), I will include at a later date --mostly cause I'm tired of typing atm-- the contents of my BOB, bf's BOB, our GAG (as i call it: the grab-and-go. Larger and contains more then just the bob's and will be taken as long as we don't have under 1 min to evac. Also dependant on situation), details of our Plan, etc.
