About Me: When I started thinking way too much about zombies: Shaun of the Dead.... What started my zombie fixation: Shaun of the Dead Favorite zombie book: World War Z Favorite zombie movie: I, Zombie '99 Favorite quote in any zombie movie: My Survival Plan: My “handle” should you look for me on the radio waves or web: JollyGreen, or JGMy location: Orlando, Fl Is my plan dependent on zombies in your home town, or anywhere? three part plan, based on anywhere in the world, anywhere in US, and then in town. Will I be staying in my home or headed somewhere else? headin' out If I'm heading out, how do I plan to get there? motorcycle(s) Got anyone I want to take with me? my Zombie Survival Team, my family, the weird Vietnam Vet down the block with his antique arsenal... How will I communicate with the outside world, or do I plan to go the hermit route? hand-crank transmitting radio. How am I planning to get food and water? my Bug Out Bag, then a couple small supermarkets I know of outside of town. What’s my weapon of choice? Do you need to reload that thing? Gotta plan for that? Browning T-bolt Rifle for long range, possibly soon a Glock for medium range, and two custom made longswords and homemade, specially tailored chainmail for melee. (and yes, I'm strong enough to carry all of this and not be slowed down) Got a survival philosophy? Blades don't need reloading. Travel in small groups to maximize efficiency. Am I willing to hook up with other survivors? The more, the merrier. As long as they are willing to stick with my team's lead. Is my plan based on a book/movie/blog/scientist other survivors may have heard of? I sat down and thought it all out myself.... THEN I found Max Brooks books and made 1 or 2 minor changes, but not by much. I have several maps currently under construction with everything laid out. One map is every military base and Police HQ in the state. One map is every hospital, clinic, and pharmacy in Florida. One map is every airport, port, and marina in the state. One map has every grocery store, superstore, and known food warehouse in the state. One map is every easily defended, easily barricaded, protected building within 100 miles. (mostly government buildings, Fire Houses, water plants, etc. Places with small windows, high windows, heavy, easily barricaded doors, wrought iron and/or stone walls, etc...) Also has several long term options, rather than temporary safehouses. Most long term options are over 100 miles, but include stone forts, etc. One map has all the home improvement and tool store in the state. And my last map has the home and work locations of all my friends and family, so that I might be able to alter my courses a little bit to maximize the number of friendlies I can pick up on a particular journey.
