About Me: When I started thinking way too much about zombies: Not necessarily zombies, but in the event of widespread instability in the world. I thought i should make connections with people who are of like mind. Just in case. What started my zombie fixation: Zombies are cool. Who wouldn't want martial law and the opportunity to test your physical and mental prowess in the face of great adversity i.e. zombie hordes. Favorite zombie book: Favorite zombie movie: Well my favorite zombie game is nazi zombies on cod 5 Favorite quote in any zombie movie: My Survival Plan: My “handle” should you look for you on the radio waves or web: LS-117, L337 SP4R74N My location: Spokane, WA Is my plan dependent on zombies in your home town, or anywhere? If zombies/apocalyptic events started/began anywhere other than here, i would take the extra time to move as many supplies as i could to a piece of property that my family owns. if the epicenter is here, move out as fast as possible. Will I be staying in my home or headed somewhere else? headed out to 160 acres with basalt plateaus averaging about 100-150 feet in elevation. pine forest and seasonal spring. overlooks wide area to north. buildings on property, but would have to be refitted. If I'm heading out, how do I plan to get there? Big four wheel drive vehicles i.e. suburbans, blazers, trucks. Cars can make it out there and be parked safely (extra storage room) and camouflaged as to not attract attention, but during 2 months in spring and snowy months of winter (here now we have like 20 inches and that's in town), other than that they are useless on the property itself. Got anyone I want to take with me? my friends (if convinced) weapons with them include mossberg 500a tactical and an H&R Security Shotgun, close family, after we have setup a reasonable defense plan and taken care of initial needs i.e. food, water, ammunition, etc. then we can start search and rescue recons in order to find new supply opportunities and survivors How will I communicate with the outside world, or do I plan to go the hermit route? in a zombie situation, many military and government communications will still be active. i plan to eventually make our way to fairchild afb and get evacuated from there. in the event of massive government destabilization, we can only hope to maintain a living of subsistance farming, and keeping a low presence in the region as to not attract too much attention either from zombies, raiders, rival groups, or government forces of any flag. How am I planning to get food and water? well and county water system on the property. electricity connected to spokane grid(although i dont know how long that would last) land can be farmed easily, and livestock is plentiful(many surrounding farms equals rogue animals if people leave). lots of farmland also equals a lot of access to animal feed, tractor equipment, farm vehicles, and even the animals themselves. Wild animals include deer, moose, duck, goose, coyote, pheasant, quail, snakes, porcupines, skunks, and a variety of small birds. What’s my weapon of choice? Do you need to reload that thing? Gotta plan for that? Well, personally, i own a WASR-10 AK-47 in 7.62x39, with a 6-position collapsing stock(think m-4), a Galil style foregrip, a SAW grip, brand new trigger group, bolt carrier and bolt(i baby it); a M1943 Mosin Nagant in 7.62x54r (oldie but goodie) in brand new synthetic stock, and scope on its way for christmas). I am also planning on purchasing a Glock 19 in 9x19. Note: in the Glock i would prefer to have hollowpoint rounds(or another similarly fragmenting ammo) to have maximum effect on any softbody targets that i may be forced (I want to save ammunition) to engage. I have plenty of 7.62x39 for approximately 2 months if i used ammo in excess. Ammo for the mosin nagant is my greatest concern to me as i only have about 140 rounds, so i would save it for hunting and only for defense if absolutely necessary. my friends (if present) currently own a Mossberg 500A Tactical Shotgun, pistol grip, pump grip or pump grip w/handgrip, with red dot scope, collapsible/removable stock, 5+1 capacity. The other is an H&R Security shotgun with a fixed stock, pump grip, also with 5+1 capacity. We are always looking for opportunities for the acquirement of new weapons. Got a survival philosophy? Evasion equals survival. In extremely hostile/dangerous environments. DONT ATTRACT UNNECESSARY ATTENTION. It will only create more opportunities for the shit to hit the fan. Live simple. Only after a long period of time after the initial outbreak of zombie or martial law, when you are more aware of your new environment, should you start even considering using your supplies and energy for entertainment (TV, games, movies). Now i love my video games, undoubtedly, but this must be paramount to law (at least to me) in order to ensure the maximum survivability rates among me and my fellow survivors, resistors, rebels or whatever. I want as many people to live as possible. I know some people will eventually get infected, and i may have to face some tough choices, but to minimize the chance of that happening and the subsequent emotional stress on myself and my companions, it will be to everyones best interest to reduce laziness. Am I willing to hook up with other survivors? If i am sure that i can handle the responsibilites of taking care of survivors. However, people that can offer a useful trade, not gonna list any, but you know what i mean, then they would be immediately considered for a position that would require them to maintain any equipment they are familiar with, and teach others to learn their collective skills. The more secure we are as a small economy and secure in terms of fortification, the more able we would be to support a growing number of survivors Is my plan based on a book/movie/blog/scientist other survivors may have heard of? No. At least none that ive heard. My score and score summary on the non-lame zombie survival test:
