Well friends,
Today marks my two year anniversary at the ZSDW, well... two years since I created my first account here, Littlejon126, which I've unfortunately had to lock since that e-mail account was hijacked... According to a little bit of research, i was the 1476th member to join the ZSDW, not counting those that were banned before I joined. Anyways, the ZSDW is definitely not the same place that it was when I first joined. It's matured considerably and in my opinion, it's better than ever before. We've got good members, a great staff, tons of great articles and lots of mall ninja to poke fun at... Anyways, I am setting a resolution to complete before this time next year. I promise to spend the time and money to build my Mosin-Nagant sniper rifle, as outlined in the corresponding article. I promise to host more ZSDW Marksmanship Challenges. I promise to write more in depth articles, and I promise to at least try to get a video uploaded onto the ZSDW Youtube account page. Here's the the next 52 weeks at the ZSDW! ~Jon

Friends, let me wax poetic for a moment. I hope this post isn't too shocking... but SOMEONE needs to say it.
Some folks think that gearing up, dressed like Robocop, wearing pads and makeshift duct tape armor is going to be the answer, in the logic that they will be protected from bites from reanimated corpses. This sort of nonsensical drivel is for the birds. Zombies aren't real, unless I missed a very important memo. They're simply a metaphor catch-all sort of thing for real disasters like hurricanes, super earthquakes, major blizzards, long-term loss of power, economical or societal collapse, civil unrest or rebellion, or even home invasion or self defense situations. Sure, its fun to think about zombies eating our neighbors, but let's face it, zombies aren't real now, and odds are that they never will be. That being said, by preparing for zombies (metaphorically-speaking) you will be able to prepare for ANY eventuality, be it good, bad, or worst-case scenario. I love zombie movies; from the goriest to cheesiest, I enjoy watching zombies on the big and small screens. Nothing excites me more than to see massive hordes chasing the protagonists around an urban environment, seconds from gnawing human flesh. But that's not why I'm here - I'm here to learn about survival skills, and to share my love for zombie movies with fellow zombie movie buffs. Maybe one day, zombies might actually be real, but until then, they're like Terminator, Predator, Godzilla and King Kong, and only real on the big screen.
