What started my zombie fixation: One of my good friends showed me a book that has ever since sparked my interest in zombies

Favorite quote in any zombie movie: Give me your hand, I can help you. (poor man who said this got bit by the little girl and tunred into a zombie himself, LOL)

My “handle” should you look for you on the radio waves or web: If you have acsess to both, by all means take advantage of what you have but in the event of a zombie apocolypse, I am sure the internet won't be as available as other survival using there own radio broadcasts to help unite survivors
My location: Indiana/Illinois Border, though I am a resident of Indiana
Is my plan dependent on zombies in your home town, or anywhere? Depending on the scale of the outbreak will decide on how I will decide to act. Seeing I live withing an hour of Chicago, if a widespread outbreak erupted there, by all means I am heading south to the countryside where the population is less dense. But if the outbreak was in my hometown I would bring all of my survival supplies to my attic where I can also cut a hole in my ceiling giving me acsess to the roof and a pull up staircase ensuring me zombies won't be able to get up to me. If the situation went worldwide, I would ultimately plan on making a 600+ my journey to South Dakota where the population is far lower then where I am now and I have alot of family there that May have Survived.
Will I be staying in my home or headed somewhere else? Explained above.
If I'm heading out, how do I plan to get there? I will plan to get there by land travel, which more then deffinately will include walking, biking and driving. I will try to travel on quiet roads where abandoned cars won't clog the roads and since the probability of a government collapse would be expected, taking supplies from grocery stores and gas and other objects I will be in need of won't cost much because money is useless where the currency has no value.
Got anyone I want to take with me? My family and people who have the knowledge and ability to help me survive such a disaster.
How will I communicate with the outside world, or do I plan to go the hermit route? I don't plan to avoid humanity, but I do plan on avoiding large cities unless being forced to go there to salvage supplies needed for my survival.
How am I planning to get food and water? I will start off with the stockpile I will have gathered by the time a zombie armageddon could arrive, and once that runs out I will search cities for resources
What’s my weapon of choice? Do you need to reload that thing? Gotta plan for that? My weapon of choice are most semi automatic weapons, preferably the M1 Garand, like food I will have a stockpile and then search cities. I also plan on having a long melee weapon and a short one. The long one being for distance on the short one for when zombies get too close.

Am I willing to hook up with other survivors? If they are smart enough to do the right thing in a bad situation(Killing close team members that have been infected by zombies and not trying to save someone in an impossible situation..the goal is to survive not be a hero) despite what their heart says and have the ability to survive then yes.
