Weapons, Gear, Plans, Etc.
General Plan: As soon as I heard about mysterious activity or a straight up zombie uprising, I'd get into contact with friends, family, and anyone else of use (servicemen, people with keys to things, doctors or nurses, etc...) and direct them to a nearby highschool. Like most schools nowadays, it has steel doors, small windows, and thick walls, so as we hole up inside the school, we would send out probes to "raid" the town, take non perishable foods, firearms (from the airbase near the city), building materials, and obviously survivors.
Ideally we'd get ahold of a tanker truck or two, bring some gasoline into our little camp, to keep vehicles and electronic communications up as long as possible.
Eventually we'd raid a garden supply store and plant some basic fruits and vegetables, and possibly even raise livestock on the football field, depending on the duration of the siege.
Quite a lot of daydream material (I can't wait for finals this semester)
Weapons: Since the only three sources of firearms in the city and surrounding area come in the form of an air force base, pawn shops, and residences, our little fortress would most likely end up with a variety of M16s, M24s, hunting rifles, shotguns, and assorted handguns. A good line-up I suppose.
Armor: Considering my nonexistent links to the military, most of us would just be wearing canvas, or preferably, leather. As for head protection, probably cheap motorcycle helmets, we want full protection from fluids, but we certainly don't want them to be bullet-proof (if you know what I mean). Snakebite gaiters and homemade leather armbands for the occaisonal melee.
Vehicles: Pshh, whatever I can get my hands on.
Preferably though, some sort of bus or trailer; a few mods here, and voila, instant barricade!
