About Me: When I started thinking way too much about zombies: 15th birthday What started my zombie fixation: Puberty Favorite zombie book: Zombie Survival Guide / WWZ Favorite zombie movie: 28 days/weeks, Resident Evil(s) Favorite quote in any zombie movie: "Don't bury me. I'm not dead yet." My Survival Plan: My “handle” should you look for you on the radio waves or web: My location: Severna Park, MD Is my plan dependent on zombies in your home town, or anywhere? My zombie survival plan is dependent on zombies being far enough away for me to get a good head start on preparations, but close enough for them to cause a mass exodus from my area. Will I be staying in my home or headed somewhere else? Headed out to unfinished construction site by the high school. It was slated to finish construction last year it think, but it never was completed. Most of the materials are moved out, but it is like 4 to 5 acres of cleared, unpaved land with a steel and concrete warehousing complex in the middle. If I'm heading out, how do I plan to get there? By car at first, then dispose of them in favor of bikes. Got anyone I want to take with me? A group of 5-10 people including family. How will I communicate with the outside world, or do I plan to go the hermit route? Communication is key. Old radio in attic is still functional and works on a large array of frequencies. How am I planning to get food and water? Water is from a well and from rain collection systems that are easy to construct (we have one supplying our pets with water if we forget about them or go on long trips). Food will be trickier, but I found several cheap food packages that have 280 servings of a large variety of food and have a shelf life of 20-23 years. Just one should be able to sustain my max group of about 10 for weeks on end and I will stockpile them. BEFORE those are used up, farming is a necessity. My mother and Brianna are experienced farmers and my mother has a huge collection of gardening and farming books and encyclopedias. We keep a food garden in the back yard. We never buy vegetables at the store except for during winter/early spring. What’s my weapon of choice? Do you need to reload that thing? Gotta plan for that? Neighbor two houses down regularly does shooting with his AR-15 and several of the people near me have licensed (and unlicensed) firearms. They will either come with me or I will find the means to take them - possibly by force. In supplement, melee weapons will be used (any household has dozens if they look hard enough). Ammunition will be in short supply, so engagements will be avoided and limited in their scope if they become unavoidable. Got a survival philosophy? Stay hidden, stay sane, stay alive. Am I willing to hook up with other survivors? Yes, if they provide key skills that would help the group. If not, I would bypass them or attack if they have vital supplies. I would kill any two survivors than allow them to kill a single of my own. Is my plan based on a book/movie/blog/scientist other survivors may have heard of? Not really, just common sense. My score and score summary on the non-lame zombie survival test: Not yet tested.
