About Me: I'm 6'3 and 230lbs. I am Married, and have been with my wife since 1989, We have two dogs and a cat. I have Type II diabetes and was raised Roman Catholic, I am a Endowment (Life) Member of the NRA and a member of the NRA Legion of Honor. My wife is a MSU grad of history with a 4.0 gpa, we both carry guns. Assets & Resources I own my own store, and own two properties in town...I live in the smaller property in town as I can't afford to build my dream home on my 3.5 acre lot in a semi-gated community. Compound (Basic Home) My home is small but very defensible it has 2 steel doors (without windows on the doors) that are both accessed by raised decks (that can be collapsed in a Zombie infestation) The windows are high up, and would be very hard to break and then climb into as they start at about head level (6 feet up). I have a well and a septic system. The house is one story, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms. It has a large garage (22x30) with basic blackmithing, Gunsmiting, and assorted workshops. The Garage has NO windows and two steel garage doors (leading front and back) with a steel door about facing the house. The yard is fenced with chainlink and the rear fence has barbed wire on it (to keep kids...I mean Zombies from jumping it and leaving my gate open letting my dogs run away). Weapons & Armour Over 40 firearms, dozens of combat quality swords (Including a hand made fFabio del Tin), axes, spears, maces and medieval arms and armour. Dozens of military helmets and assorted gear. Vehicles 2004 F150 pickup truck (4 door) 1993 Dodge Shadow (2 door) What started my zombie fixation:See above Favorite zombie book:Zombie Survival Guide Favorite zombie movie:Night of the living Dead Favorite quote in any zombie movie:"Brrrrrrraaaaaaiiiinnnsss" ( just kidding ) My Survival Plan: My “handle” should you look for you on the radio waves or web: First don't look for me, I'm a conservative survivalist type, my only interest is protecting my Wife first and Myself second. I will be friendly only if it will aid our survival and will see you most likely as a resource. My location: Montana Is my plan dependent on zombies in your home town, or anywhere?Anywhere, but I have a ton of needed equipment in my home town. Personally I can arm about 75 people (about 40+ with firearms) the rest with bows, crossbows, spears and swords. (I used to be involved in Medieval reenactment) Will I be staying in my home or headed somewhere else?I'll be loading up my truck and heading to the abandoned prison. I might also single women and married couples with children to come with us but NO single unpredictable males. Most likely I'll just take my Wife and my dogs. If I'm heading out, how do I plan to get there?Ford F-150 Got anyone I want to take with me?My Wife. How will I communicate with the outside world, or do I plan to go the hermit route? Via radio powered by rechargeable batteries. I have a Solar powered charger to re-power batteries. How am I planning to get food and water?Hunting, looting and I'm sorry to say...perhaps even stealing. What’s my weapon of choice? Do you need to reload that thing? Gotta plan for that? I have a few thousand rounds for both my AK-47, and my 223. weapons (2 AR-15's and an XCR with folding stock) all have bayonet lugs and bayonets (I added the lug to the XCR) Long Range (either my Garand (30-06) or K98 Mauser (8mm) or my CETME (308.) vs Humans (Update now changing to a DPMS AR-10 (308.) Medium Range (Long) AR-15 or XCR (The XCR can perform in colder weather than the AR-15) Medium Range (Short) either my AK-47 or XCR Short Range AK47 (it's never jammed on me, ever and has great stopping power) House Clearing M1 carbine (extreme reliability and its folding stock makes itmaneuverable) Routine Patrol my Bushmaster M-4 style AR-15 (very lightweight, and good multi use range) Sidearms, Varies, most likely a Glock 17 with a 33 rnd mag, but while in a small house I'll most likely carry a 45. M1911. Got a survival philosophy? Yes, to survive at all costs. I'll do ANYTHING to protect my wife, I've been with her since 1989. Any lone male (or group of males) is a target, simply put as they Might have ammo, weapons, food or medicine. They may want to harm my wife, so better be safe than sorry....I'm a hunter and in a second that becomes sniper. Perhaps I'll protect a lone woman, or a group perhaps....for a time. That said the more people the harder it will be to feed them and provide safe water. They will use up sanitary napkins for my wife and toilet paper. They will add both body odor and noise, they will want more light at night....all these increase thelikelihood of detection. Hmmm...perhaps I'll take no one in, females will be in demand so if someone grabs one that I have saved, she may lead them back to our compound and to my wife. I most likely will not take anyone back to my base. I'll help women and children, perhaps even giving them a spare gun but thats all most of the time. I have dogs. They can detect and warn me of Zombies better than any alarm. They will know if a house is clear before entering it. Other humans will see them as food, truth is those other humans would be better as food for my dogs. Everyone shouldconsidera dog, they will help you feel safe knowing they can alarm you of danger and will fight against stress. When they die, they sadly become meat. I don't trust the goodness of people, or thecompetence of most when the poo hits the fan. Some people are good, but it's not worth the risk when it takes only one mistake to destroy everything. I own chemical suits and gasmasks because I choose to be prepared. Obviously it's not against zombies but who knows. Why should I take onburdens of the unprepared, so be prepared. I enjoy collecting military memorabilia (I have working gasmasks and helmets from WWII to the modern age) bayonets, web gear and firearms. I'm a collector, also of medieval coins, esotericbooks, medieval arms and armor, and assorted sundry items. Some will be useful and some will not. I'll take that to Z-day, I'll keep collecting what might be useful and interesting as it's my nature. Am I willing to hook up with other survivors? No, (read above) Is my plan based on a book/movie/blog/scientist other survivors may have heard of? No, it's based on my experience as a survival expert and weapons practitioner. I have role-played many scenarios and have thought the issue out fully. I hunt and fish and have gone through CQB training. I have engaged in SCA fighting for over 20yrs. I know how to make everything I might need. I'm a Nice guy who gives to charity, goes to Church a couple of times a year and helps my neighbors. I'm a devoted husband and I love my pets. My wife and I do everything together, we work together and have been almost locked to eachothers hips since 1989. When I'm not at my store, I'm home with my wife writing, illustrating, gunsmithing or playing with blacksmithing or carpentry. We Role-play very often (GURPS, Call of Cthulhu) and have run Zombie simulations doing that. We also play Airsoft and ingage in tactical training and shoot at the range. While not often we hunt, practice primitive camping and attend medieval reenactments. Of course when Z-day comes about, we all have other sides...
