About Me: When I started thinking way too much about zombies: Late 2010.What started my zombie fixation:Mid 2011. Favorite zombie book: Haven't read many zombie books. Favorite zombie movie: Hmmm, there are quite a few good ones, but lets say Resident Evil Series for now. Favorite quote in any zombie movie:Can't think of any great ones at this moment. My Survival Plan: My location:Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, West Midlands, England, UK. Is my plan dependent on zombies in your home town, or anywhere?Probably home-town, but then again if they start popping up elsewhere gives me more time to prepare and find a good location. Will I be staying in my home or headed somewhere else?Probably head to somewhere more secure, haven't really got anywhere planned yet but on the lookout for good places to 'move into' and secure, possibly a large, strong warehouse with lots of rooms and outside fencing that's easilydefend-able. Maybe even my oldhigh-school, it's got multiple entrances/exits with sturdy gates which I couldbarricadewith the many tables and chairs in the various rooms to prevent Z's from wandering in, it's got a good sized canteen which will be (hopefully) packed with food to last a while (depending on the size of the group obviously), it has many sports utility e.g.javelins,cricketbats, baseball bats, etc. It has also got a good sized field that could be used for farming so we can grow our own food, it's got fairly tall fences and hedges that run along the wholeperimeterof the school, alibraryso we could read and/or (if possible) go on the internet (could also use the books to burn for warmth if needs be), a couple of workshops so that if anyone has the know-how they could possibly build something that could be of use, only downside would be that it is close to towns and lots of homes, so it might already be occupied by the time I get there, either by Z's or other survivors. I would ideally go to an old military base (that's packed with leftover guns andammunitionand shooting ranges[not going to happen but we can all dream a little] )etc.but don't know of any, would also 'prepare' for zombie apocalypse by building my own stronghold but land prices are a joke let alone the whole building project to make a prefect zombie and raider-free home. If I'm heading out, how do I plan to get there? The family car is an X-trail, so a sturdy enough car, hopefully with others in cars, otherwise using my own two feet. Got anyone I want to take with me?Family and friends, if possible. How will I communicate with the outside world, or do I plan to go the hermit route? Will be on the lookout for other survivors that look like they don't want/ course any trouble. How am I planning to get food and water? Will have to 'raid' nearby deserted houses, ideally getting to the nearest supermarket A.S.A.P to get as much supplies before they are all gone (food, drink, medicines, crop seeds if possible, blankets,weaponryetc.). What’s my weapon of choice? Do you need to reload that thing? Gotta plan for that?As I am becoming more and more of a zombie apocalypsedoomsdayer (erm.. lets go with that), I have a couple of knives in my bedroom, a baseball bat, a golf club, drills, and such scattered around the house, meele weapons aren't ideal I would much rather put as much distance between myself and a zombie as I possibly could but we would all have to make do with what we've got, I might have a mobile gaspressurisednail gun in the shed which could be deadly and quiet but limited to how long the gas lasts and the amount of nails I have lying around. I would like to try to get some more weaponry but the law is pretty strict oneverythingin the UK, I mean even the police don't have guns, so a lot of good they'll be in theup-riseof the dead. Got a survival philosophy?(From the film Zombieland) Enjoy the little things. Am I willing to hook up with other survivors?Yes, I would love to be able to help as many people as I could, only I'd have to worry about the amount of resources that would be taken up by X amount of people, whether people would be willing to 'deal' with the reanimated dead, and whether there will be trouble in our 'community' should our members have a distaste for the newcomers and vise-versa. Is my plan based on a book/movie/blog/scientist other survivors may have heard of?As I don't exactly have a good plan as of yet, probably not, but should the zombie apocalypse strike tomorrow I would probably go with plan B which is probably the same thing a lot of people would be thinking of.
