Name: Frank
home - Zombie Survival & Defense Wiki

DOB: August 19th.

Age: 37

Height: 5'11"

Weight: 190lbs.

Blood type: O+

Ethnicity: English, Irish, German, Polish & Cherokee

Occupation: Telecommunications Technician (14yrs) & Landlord

When I started thinking way too much about zombies: I wore out a VHS copy of Night of the Living Dead when I was a teenager.

What started my zombie fixation: Watching Night of the Living Dead and being frustrated by the stupidity of the people.

Favorite zombie books:
  1. World War Z - by Max Brooks - Could'nt put it down till' the end.
  2. The Zombie Survival Guide - by Max Brooks - I don't agree with everything in it...but it gives some good ground rules.
  3. The World Without Us - by Alan Weisman - Not a zombie book but...gives a good idea of how our environment and structures will change when nobody is around to maintain them.
  4. Camping & Wilderness Survival second edition - by Paul Tawrell - Self explanitory.
  5. The Home Depot: Home Improvement 1-2-3 - Useful Info.
  6. Zombies: A Record of the Year of Infection - A fun read.

  8. The Walking Dead Weekly - by Kirkman & Moore
Favorite zombie movies:
  1. Dawn of the Dead (2004) - The most realistic zombie movie in my opinion...I believe a zombie apocalypse could only occur if zombies could run...closing the distance to they're victims and overwhelming them before they can react.
  2. Dawn of the Dead (1978) - Added a new dimension to zombie survival....gotta love the mall music. ;)
  3. Night of the Living Dead (1968) - With respect to Mr.Romero...the movie that started it all.
  4. Night of the Living Dead (1990) - The more realistic remake of the original Romero classic.
  5. 28 Days Later (2003) - Though not zombies in the classic sense...probably the most likely scenario that could possibly actually happen.
  6. Shaun of the Dead (2004) - Hilarious...An instant classic.
  7. Zombieland (2009) - We have this movie to thank for the Rules of Zombieland.

Favorite quote in any zombie movie: "When there's no more room in hell, the dead will walk the earth"

Hey, sweetheart, let me tell you something. You have my permission, I ever turn into one of those things... do me a favor, blow my ******' head off.

My Survival Plan:

My “handle” should you look for me on the radio waves or web: Osiris74

My location: Southeastern Connecticut

Is my plan dependent on zombies in your home town, or anywhere? My plan is to remain flexible and ready for wherever they might be encountered.

Will I be staying in my home or headed somewhere else? Home at first...till things die down a bit...no pun intended...then I implament my plan.

Plan 1:
Make the short trip to the local high school...It's a virtual fortress...stone and steel construction...steel doors...shatterproof glass 2 sets of doors and a vestibule...a fully stocked kichen...a nurse station...and a huge solar array on the roof...and school buses...If you've ever seen a school bus demo derby you'll know they can take a beating...plus they have a front side door...a rear door and many have an escape hatch in the roof and some in the floor...remember...schools and school buses are designed to protect our most important investments.

Plan 2:
Go to the end of my road and steal a boat and head out to one of the islands just off the coast. Water provides a natural barrier and dead washing up on shore should be limited and manageable.

If I'm heading out, how do I plan to get there? Will just take my car...the key here is driving fast enough to outpace the dead while not driving so fast you'll wreck...avoid the dead when possible...and if not possible...your driving slow enough to bump them away without causing substantial damage to the vehicle.

Got anyone I want to take with me? No one in particular...Anyone I can save without jeopardizing myself.

How will I communicate with the outside world, or do I plan to go the hermit route? I work in the communications industry...I'll think of something ;)

How am I planning to get food and water? Have enough on hand to sustain me for some time.

What’s my weapon of choice? Do you need to reload that thing? Gotta plan for that?
This is the Dead On Demo Tool...heavy duty...could easily collapse or puncture a skull and just as easily breach a door in case a quick getaway is needed.

Dead On Demo Tool

The standard Kukri of course.

Razer Sharp Kukri 12" blade.

...and my new toy...Glock 23 Gen 4... .40S&W 13+1

Am also researching guns I'm considering purchasing in the future...my thoughts so far are...
Shotguns: Mossberg 500 or 590A1 (12ga.)
Mossberg 500
Mossberg 590A1

Rifles : Springfield Armory M-21 Tactical

Got a survival philosophy? Keep your back to a wall...be quiet...keep moving...never underestimate the undead...always think if time provides...be flexible...only take calculated risks and always have several backup plans...Conserve food, water, energy and ammo...keep the fuel tank full...keep the guns fully loaded...stay in shape...never get too comfortable anywhere...never let your guard down...never reach blindly...never enter without looking...never enter a place with poor visibility...don't do stupid things.

Am I willing to hook up with other survivors? Yes...would move to take a leading role in planning...but would never deviate from my own survival plan.

Is my plan based on a book/movie/blog/scientist other survivors may have heard of? My plan is based on a considerable amount of thought on the subject...pulled from all of the above sources relating to zombie and other post apocalyptic scenarios...survival skills picked up over the years and working knowledge on how to do many things.
