Is my plan dependent on zombies in your home town, or anywhere?

My plan is designed for any outbreak that occurs in the New England area.

Will I be staying in my home or headed somewhere else?

Heading to a small deserted island located at +41° 20' 2.92", -70° 18' 14.61"

If I'm heading out, how do I plan to get there?

I have access to a decent sized sailboat in a nearby harbor. I've been sailing in the area all my life so getting there will not be a problem.

Got anyone I want to take with me?

My transport cannot carry enough supplies to build a compound large enough to support more then one or two people. If you want in you will need to be able secure more/larger craft.

How will I communicate with the outside world, or do I plan to go the hermit route?

I don't intend to intend to communicate with the outside world, partially because I don't want to attract raiders, but mostly because I'm just antisocial. Also, I don't see radios and such surviving very long in the salt air. If for some reason I do want to communicate with anyone I will probably use a mirror.

How am I planning to get food and water?

Water can be gotten by rain collection and solar distilleries. Food can be come from farming the land, supplemented by fishing the coastline, raiding seabird nests for eggs, and digging for shellfish.
