my zombie theory is that the most likely way that the zombocalypse will occur is something around "28 days later" zombies, not really undead corpses but people who have been driven into insane rage because of a virus or something of the sort

in the latter case they will be somewhat fast, and a slight bit intelligent (they cant open doors but they can handle stairs or probably handle waist deep water)
they will likely starve within a week or two, within normal limits of a human,possibly more if they have the instinct to rummage around for water and non-human food , like an animal would

and personally? i prefer this scenario, atleast they have a lifespan, most of them would likely die out a bit after the average person's supplies run out (remember, 2 days without water,1-2 weeks without food keep plenty of liquids on hand)
