in my case, i would choose a shotgun, because i enjoy the look and feel of a shotgun, and i would like to beat a zombie with the hardwood stock, everyone allways says that a rifle is so much better, but is a rifle REALLY better? shotguns can be just as acurate with a proper barel, and if your not a complete ass you can hit a zombie if its closeup, and its big enough of a boom to alert your friends for a while around, even if it alerts zombies, the only problems i could see is heavy huge ammo and the clip size, 6 is enough, but why have 6-10 when you can use 30? well, i guess the AA-12 solved that, but if you rock and roll with a 12 gauge, your going to be hurting or out of ammo in a jiff, and even with the (25 round barrel drum?) why do that when you can have a 75 shot barrel cip for an ak?

I am quite impressed. Makes me sad that I live on the East Coast and probably won't ever meet you, but also hopeful because we are taking a mass exodus outta there. Also, I like your views on many a thing xD

Hey! I know you've heard all about the swine flu lately. i just watched about it for a little while. Now, how many of you live in or around Carver County. I live just a while away (about 20-30 minutes away). My dad just told me that the schools are closed in Waconia. No reported cases but just a couple kids with respiratory problems. I guess the schools superintendets got scared. If I heard about this while a couple of kids in my school nad respiratory problems , I would probably close it too. Now I am willing to join or accept join-ees for my squad. It is very small right now. My and a friend or two and their mom, dad, and siblings (only 16, about 4-6 battle ready) at school. We have a plan to head for the Rockies and then we will stop in South Dakota and try to raid a place for fireworks including firecrackers, M-80's, and bottle rockets. We will then carve out a spot on a low hill or side of the mountain with a big trench all around. We will then make noise luring zombies. they will try to get to us, but then fall into the trench. We then throw down a Molotov cocktails and light them up or just let them rot. We will have a drawbridge to let in or out other survivors looking for temporary shelter. We have a few firearms and I and my dad have firearm experience, but no one else really does. Just thought you might want to know.

"Christ it is cold up here. No fire, no heat signature, blanketed down, covered in sage and shit, owl living on top of me, and to beat all, fucking goddamn cold binoculars that need to be used anytime something seen.."
"Damn wind blowing a good 45mph this evenin' according to gauge in back of cave." "Hell I might be able to use one of those self warming coffee cups and cans of soup before Bobbert gets here.." Snuffling up tight under wool blankets was Slim, one of our little Zhunds. I had picked him from Sam and Heidi's latest litter. He was the "runt". Still at a year, small in stature and cute as a new penny, his nose and big bat ears were my primary guard against Unkle Zed. With wind whipping as typical here on Salusi Butte, we watched old Interstate 82 for action, movement, or indications of potential problems. Damn this was boooOOOoooRing duty to pull straw for. Necessary? That is what I'm told, and trading off with our youngsters lets them know even we "old farts" are willing to pull our slots and rotations. Slims nose shoots up hard into wind, his comical little dog growl, like a windup toy sound, starts in bursts. "Wrrrrrrrrr! GwRrrRRRRRRR!" Little stumpy front leg comes up in point, tail high, he's looking North, uproad. Clicking my handheld twice, alert youngin's on Bridge duty to wake up and pay attention. Slim is ready to go kick some ass. His lead keeps him in, and placing finger on thorat stills his shrill barking. 'Scopes uncapped and looking around, panning across desert cleaned of everything, big rocks, bushes, desert plants, anything on entry to Bridges, there *IS* a cloud of dust coming our way. Radio clicked five times, waiting for response, hear a GPMG open up. It isn't ours, and no tracers yet. Our boys and girls are maing ready on East Bridge.

Quislings tried again this past evening. Truckload of end of season pumpkins and melons coming in from Yakima Valley, three trusted 10-wheeled trucks bumped up to barrier, guards and Zhunds were checking cargo, undersides, cab interiors.
Checking manifests, ensuring humanity of those in trucks, first was allowed through. Second sled contained mixed with assorted scrap metals in bins, back half live cargo of chickens we needed for our people. Took an hour with pokes, prods, checking underneath well, this truck allowed through. Third truck, driver seemed nervous, strained, more agitated than someone who had driven in center of armored convoy mere hour and change on clear roads. George, the "Old Guy" on Gate Duty that evening was suspicious during Hunds nosing around inside cab and in engine compartment. We'll never be sure what happened then, what is known is Fat George double tapped driver, called for HELP, Hunds went crazy. Driver had released his cab, flatnose with its hydraulics sent things upward, four Zed somewhat comfortable with heat and noise were loosened. Little ZHunds went postal, as Zed fell out of their hiding places, hitting engine and then out to roadside, two of our little Gin-Gins went after the first down taking its right leg out, going hard for anything that continued to move. One, "Fris" was bitten hard while removing Zed's hand.. Bleeding out he continued his attack until this Undead was shot in forehead. George finished off Zed and Fris as his pistol went dry. Reloading quickly, looking for his fellow Guards, Zed escaped, headed down ramp into FEO. George quickly took up one of the kids AR, charged, took aim, Zed on ground took a last bite, connected with Georges ankle. Shaking Zed off, he was able to down the quick Shamblers with carefully placed shots. Driver, rolled over with his last gasp, pushed his button. Truck, Geroge, kids and..

S.M Sterling's "DIES THE FIRE" and follow on books. What happens when the lights and chedmistry that supports modern Man suddenly goes out.
John Ringo's "Ghost" and follow up books. Damn good action adventure, sex and gunfire. C.J. Box, his books are based in modern Wyoming. His hero is a common man, finding himself in the oddest of mysteries, murder and mayhem. Joe Pickett simply is Game warden doing his best to keep alive and above water, often literally. Anything Louis L'amour. "Education of a Wandering Man", his "biography", where the source of his stories came from. People, places, those "guts" of a damn good read. Elmer Keith's works. Colonel Jeff Cooper. Skeeter Skelton. P.O. Ackley. These are just a few of the "American" authors I've enjoyed, old and new. There ae hundreds, nawwww, thousands of damn good, informational books, things of our past that always have something to teach. I'll use this spot on ZW to pass on those neat tidbits in print form that will help and educate as well as entertain. SnC

Will be filling this thread with advise and observations from Free Easty OrYgunn's Zhund breeeding and training.
I will advise my Readers that E*V*E*R*T*H*I*N*G written here will be either right at, or during The Panics and slightly after Day Zed. Like the movies or a good novel you've immersed in, I would that one "suspend their disbelief" and go along for the ride. Your opinion(s) and Reasonably Knowledgeable Individual words appreciated. The Big However in **my** threads is that I will not permit "leetseek" and the assorted bullshit that clogs up good discussion. Humor and jokes, yes and maybe. Bullshit? Color it gone. Hounds, Zombies, Training, and Interaction, Use and love of good Dogs in the gray days after DayZed. SnC |
