What started my zombie fixation: Zombie movies and games...especially Resident Evil (the games).

Is my plan dependent on zombies in your home town, or anywhere? Mostly here, i'm sure I could improvise should the situation warrant.
Will I be staying in my home or headed somewhere else? Proabably my girlfriend's...they're better armed than my household.
If I'm heading out, how do I plan to get there? by car, via back-county roads...i'm sure I could walk though.
Got anyone I want to take with me? My brother...maybe.
How will I communicate with the outside world, or do I plan to go the hermit route? Most likely hermit...I plan on laying low after I figure if the people closest to me survive the inital outbreak.
How am I planning to get food and water? Scavenge...maybe start up a little garden. I plan on stockpiling drinking water, I'm screwed if the city water is tainted (I live in a rainshadow desert...so not much rain.)
What’s my weapon of choice? Do you need to reload that thing? Gotta plan for that? I don't have much at the moment, mostly improvised weaponry. I need to get a "BOB" together as well.

As for weaponry, I plan on purchasing the following:
MAIN: a .22LR rifle, probably a Marlin "795" OR a Kel-Tec SU16-CA in .223
BACKUP: an HK USP (.40) or a 9mm Beretta.
Melee (should the need arise): my rifle butt, or a survival knife.

Got a survival philosophy? Survival of the fittest?
Am I willing to hook up with other survivors? Yes, but I plan to keep my group as small as possible. My plan already involves 5+ individuals...depending on the situtation.
Is my plan based on a book/movie/blog/scientist other survivors may have heard of? Actually a lot of my ideas came from here...heh.
