My idea for armor revolves around finding 1/4 inch PVC pipe, with an internal diameter of 5+ inches. Cut said pipe into forarm and bicep length. the forarm and bicep section then cut down the middle on both sides, so you have 2 sections roughly the length of you forarms and biceps. you then put these together by grabbing some very think cloth, denim, kevlar would be great, and with some sowing skills, stitch the material into a longsleeve shirt-esq shape, using a long sleeve as a base, just stitching the tough material to a nice soft shirt. after you have your rough and ready longsleeve, take you pipe sections, drill out holes, probably 6-7 per end of pipe, take those and stitch the PVC sections to the rough and ready shirt. repeat for chest and stomach, back, and small of the back areas. PVC wont stop a bullet, its not designed to, but bites and slashes, PVC is king, its light, and readily available. you can also make Pants, and line you boots and gloves. head gear, take a full head painball helmet, line with PVC, or take a SWAT helmet, and make a chin guard, your limit is how much you have, and your imagination. Now, below, i know it may seem silly, but this is a pretty good template, just make it thicker, and your good to go.
