My Z Day Survival Plan
Dependant on where I am and the severity of the outbreak I have many options available but most including securing a Zed capable vehicle or if no other choice is possible my own Saturn Ion... I have several vehicle's within walking distance that would be optimal during a zombie invasion...
From 100 feet to 1 mile of my house in order of closest to farthest... 1) Police cruiser with a shotgun locked in the console ((getting the shotgun unlocked would be an issue)) 2) 1950's Chevy ((in the event of a nuclear attack one of few vehicles that would still be running))... 3) 1990's Winnebago ((High windows making it difficult for zombies to enter even when parked)) 4) 2000's Hummer H1 always parked behind a clinic nearby ((Vehicle + all the medical supplies you can grab but, closer to the center of town)) 5) 2007 RV on the edge of town ((Least likely to have alot of zombies nearby)) Also has a fenced storage lot with boats already on trailers within 100 feet Yes I know how to hot-wire or simply break off the ignition and start a vehicle I actually did a demonstration for a final project in a class I took freshman year xD!
Once a choice vehicle is secured I'd Like to rendezvous with my boyfriend at our previously arranged location if that is not possible then he is to meet me at our secondary location... With me and my boyfriend together, ((If possibly)), Then my next stop would be to collect my Mother, little brother and two little sisters who live approximately 2 1/2 hours ((driving at normal highway speed)) from there farm in the middle of nowhere Amish country so collecting them shouldn't be too much of an issue... Currently they have 27 adult dogs so any few zombies in that area would have their hands full xD. They also have gas, horses, and three other vehicles on her property if need be...
The next course of action will be to decide what is the safest place ((deciding this before hand could prove fatal so That is why I plan to keep my alert using radio, CB, Cell phone, and any other means at my disposal to know make my choice... 1) Wright Pat Air-Force Base with miles of underground areas Which could be secured location by the military and workers or a deathtrap waiting to happen... 2) Stay mobile on the highways until a suitable area arises... 3)Heading north to Lake Erie and pirating a boat ((May not be the best idea with so many urban areas surrounding)) 4)Or my personal Favorite heading south until reaching the Ohio River, pirating a vessel and traveling down the river till we reach the golf of Mexico... From there we have any number or locations to choose from including the coast of Mexico, Cuba, Haiti, Jamaica or any number of much smaller islands :)
Collecting supplies should be done prior to a outbreak. The more time you waste gathering the more likely you are to become part of a rapidly growing zombie population. People without firearms at the time of outbreak shouldn't try to raid a gun shop or police station for guns, You'll just end up shot or overwhelmed by zombies...Farming while important shouldn't be a major concern for 99% of people in the first days following Z day unless you have a large area of land secured and are ready to welcome survivors... There is plenty of food to feed a greatly depleted human population for awhile weeks to months after Z Day...
