i apologise if i burst your bubble, but while i realise that a mutant-pathogen zombie scenario is the most likely scenario (no returning from the dead - physiologically that would be pushing the bounds, spiritually, i can't comment), i doubt it very much - although i am not in the intelligence world or part of the military-industrial complex, so i cant say for sure. first question: is it water-borne or airborne, or is it injected? first infection does not just happen! if water-borne, will you have enough warning beforehand to stop using tap water, or are you already purifying - good for you. if airborne, chances are you will join the masses of zombies anyway. if injected, when you find the guy who started it all, the firing squad will be large, and at least one bullet for each and every loved one who has been lost i do however believe that the zombies are already amongst us, some of the living brain-dead include: 1) people who watch too much reality TV (Jerry springer for example) or too many soap operas, if they aren't brain-dead, then i must be, and since i know that i am not... 2) politicians, lawyers and other bottom-feeders, the ones who can steal your tax money and tell you with a straight face that it is all for a good purpose. 3) substance abusers - in particular drugs, these are also the people who even now will steal you blind to get the next fix, instead of food 4) the masses of the great unwashed, sorry the masses of the great unprepared. they will want what you have, because they didn't prep beforehand unfortunately it is very difficult to identify them, at least group 4. group 1 already have the vacant stare, group 2 have the arrogant, hey I'm important (i am also very insecure in myself) marketing, and group 3 only move if and when they have to. furthermore i believe that when the event occurs, wall street is about to crash, the PIGS (Portugal, Italy / Ireland, Greece and Spain) will see to that, apart from a few brokers and bankers who forget their chutes when they try to BASE-jump, most of the initial deaths in the first few hours, days and weeks, will be due to panic - "even although the shops are empty, i had better go loot while there is a chance that there may still be something there"-mentality. i can't pretend to know it all, i can't advise you on your choices of vehicle, weapons, or BOB, but only remind you that BRAIN-DEAD is dead, and they won't necessarily be eating the brains either.THINK, and think for yourself, society is made up of individuals, which includes you, therefore the next time someone goes postal at a mini-mart near you, write to the newspapers disclaiming any responsibility for the idiot when he blames it on society About Me: When I started thinking way too much about zombies: only recently, although i have been a prepper freak / liberty-loving individual for forever What started my zombie fixation: recently read pastor tom horn (biblical references to end times) - the original zombies Favorite zombie book: n/a Favorite zombie movie: resident evil series Favorite quote in any zombie movie: n/a My Survival Plan: My “handle” should you look for you on the radio waves or web: vito1264My location: Johannesburg, Gauteng (anagram: get a gun) South Africa Is my plan dependent on zombies in your home town, or anywhere? not brain-eating zombies as such, but see above for my ideas on zombies Will I be staying in my home or headed somewhere else? whatever the day shall bring, i am far too realistic to say that this is my plan, and it is cast in stone, never to change. we are all going to be somewhere on the day, home in a fully-prepped retreat would be utterly fantastic, but chances are i like many others will be far from home and loved ones If I'm heading out, how do I plan to get there? i have my eyes on a two-wheel-drive bakkie (southafricanism for pickup truck), i believe that when i run out of road, chances are that unless you are in an Abrams or a D9, you might also be running out of road. the secret is of course, also to know both the limitations of your vehicle (chosen or otherwise) and most importantly your own limitations as a driver. i have seen people take a sub-compact fiat, where a Pajero 4x4 driver feared for his metallic paint job! Got anyone I want to take with me? yes, my loved ones, if we are all fortunate enough to be where we can find each other How will I communicate with the outside world, or do I plan to go the hermit route? again, depends on circumstances, read some of the posts that i have sent. my personal opsec means that even i don't know what the plan is, hahaha. i believe that while mobile phones have solar generators (on the cell tower), they may work, chances are that if someone throws the wrong switch at the exchange, we are in the proverbial. what if the computer decides that if on contract , it ran out, or what about pay-as-you-go. cb not very popular in my part of the world (suburban johannesburg) and ham is a costly option (ten times on the dollar, and then double that for excise and tarrifs, and then because the government has so many empty pockets to feed (the fact that many of them earn as much in a month as normal working people earn in a year, and the average previously-disadvantaged non-whites who are now even poorer, because they aren't party members can hope to see in a lifetime - is a moot point) and so we add on a few taxes, and if there isn't already one, they will add a sin-tax, because it is something that the poverty-stricken voters can't afford and then just in case there isn't enough regulation, they will add a few more laws, making it illegal to communicate by any means not already controlled by them - sorry politics, lets move on shall we How am I planning to get food and water? if i were to bug out, i would head towards one of our rich agricultural regions. i can't say more, give away my plans i will have to take myself out at dawn tomorrow for a firing party! hahaha What’s my weapon of choice?
