What started my zombie fixation: Dawn of the Dead :D

Favorite quote in any zombie movie: I guess I'm losing hope that you can hear me, but there's always that chance isn't there? That slim chance. It's all about slim chances now.



My location: Fiordland, Southland, New Zealand

Is my plan dependent on zombies in your home town, or anywhere?: Anywhere and everywhere.

Will I be staying in my home or headed somewhere else?: Staying near home and in the forests, i know this area and i want homecourt.

If I'm heading out, how do I plan to get there? : If i did have to leave, it would be most likely on bicycles, unless we had access to a car and a way to leave, ie the roads aren't blocked

Got anyone I want to take with me? : Best friend, we've planned stuff like this for a while, only person i can truly trust with my life besides my family, other than that, anyone who's willing to try help each other survive as a group.

How will I communicate with the outside world, or do I plan to go the hermit route? : Avoiding people for a start, if i encounter people then we'll see.

How am I planning to get food and water?: Lakes, rivers for water, hunting/scavenging. my family have got canned food stored in the garage, and my family runs a food bank, which means we have plenty of long life food, other than that, scavenging.

What’s my weapon of choice? Do you need to reload that thing? Gotta plan for that? : being realistic, at the time of writing im 16. i can get my gun licence, but im not going to rely on guns too much. my dad has a couple of shotguns and rifles, but if i did take one it'd be the BRNO .22, lots of ammo in my house, and i could find lots around town, and it's easy to use. melee wise, im taking a crowbar, which is two to three feet long, as it has multiple uses, and a hatchet, which is also very useful. i'd prefer to avoid fighting if possible though.

Got a survival philosophy? : Stay quiet, stay hidden, stay alive.

Am I willing to hook up with other survivors? : Definitely! other people will keep me sane, many hands make light work, and there is safety in numbers.

Is my plan based on a book/movie/blog/scientist other survivors may have heard of?: Not really, most movies are full of mall ninjas, try to avoid that. If it's based on anything, it's a combination of life experiences doing scouts, family camping trips etc, and really, this site. Without ZSDW and the people here who actually think i'd probably be a dead kid in a mall or something equally grim.

Any extra traits?: I am a traceur (practitioner of parkour), so my ideal fort would have entrances on the roof only, and you need to either climb up, or get a rope ladder tossed down.
