Living in small town Utah, I grew up learning to hunt, shoot and survive off the land. My dad was a Jack of All trades. So I have a skilled background in many things ranging from construction, heavy equipment operation, farming, livestock, and many other trades that would be valuable to have in an Apocolyptic World. I will (when I get time) update this page with pictures and content. For now, I will describe two rough draft plans for survival. I currently live in SLC. If I am able to travel when the Zeds infest the world, I will travel to Circleville where I grew up and where my family still lives. It is a small town with plenty of resources to feed and upkeep the small community it is. On top of that, everyone there for the most part are hunters and avid outdoors people. There will be a few people that won't be able to contribute in those ways, but it will be that way whereever you go. Being a small and mormon community (they believe largely in food storage) most people there will have a nice stock pile of food that can help the community survive for several months while order is created or restored if needed. My family themselves have a very large food storage already and it is continually growing. We also have a very large arsenal of weapons and stockpiles of ammo for each. Several thousand rounds for common calibers, such as, .223, 7.62X39, 9mm, .45, .40, etc. We have many high powered hunting rifles and again lots of ammo for them. There is no way I could list the weapons we have at home with out doing a thorough current inventory. As far as what I personally own and have at my house, here is my list. Savage 30.06 with a 3X9 Bushnell scope. Accurate to 700+ yds. Bushmaster AR15 Peep sights firing .223 with several 30 round clips Yugoslavian SKS firing 7.62X39 with bayonet Marlin .17HMR with 3X9 Scope shooting a nickel group at 100 yds. Marlin .22LR Iron Sights Mossberg Coast to Coast 12 Guage pump Harrington 20 Guage single shot break action. Glock 17 9mm I generally have at least 500 rounds of each on hand except for the 30.06. I have a lot of tactical gear as well. Full sets of camo in Woodland, Desert Tri, ChocoChip, ACU, Multicam. Tactical vests and packs as well. Thats a rough draft plan if I can make it out of the city. If I am stuck here with no way out, I will be contacting my friends that I do Airsoft training with the US Army. We each have emergency contact info and addresses and several known deployment areas that we can meet at and organize. We each have a decent arsenal to bring to the table. Most of our team is comprised of current or retired armed forces men. We are sponsored by the US Army as well and may have access to vehicles and more if we are able to contact the SGT's and Capt's that are part of our team. If not, we will still be a very effective fighting force. We have been training and running milsim scenarios every two weeks year round for the past 2.5 years. We know each other well, know how to use radio communication effectively, and are effective with our weapons. For short time holing up, we would likely take over a small shopping area that would have have supplies we could use. There is a very large shopping area on the south west side of SLC that would have all the supplies we would need for months. That would be a long term goal to barricade that area off. As well, there is an outdoor, two level mall downtown with a road/corridor down the center. Tactically it would be a great place to hold as there are few ways to the second level. There are a few places that have supplies there as well such as a very large sporting goods store with a large selection of weapons and ammo. Food resources would be more limited there for a long term safe area, although in short surrounding area we would be able to hit up other stores for food. Theres the rough draft. I'll see about getting photos and more content someday. ;) When I started thinking way too much about Zombies: After my first zombie movie years and years ago What started my zombie fixation: Seemed to always have one.
