About Me: When I started thinking way too much about zombies: After I saw the original Dawn of the Dead back in teh early 80s. What started my zombie fixation: Seeing the original Dawn of the Dead. Favorite zombie book: Novel - Wetwork by Philip Nutman, "non-fiction" - World War Z by Max Brooks. Favorite zombie movie: Land of the Dead Favorite quote in any zombie movie: "Undead action was monitored by the American Re-Animated Corpse Association (ARCA). No zombie was harmed in the making of this film." - from the credits of Night of the Living Dead 3D (2006) My Survival Plan: My “handle” should you look for you on the radio waves or web: forvalakaMy location: Mississippi Pine Belt Is my plan dependent on zombies in your home town, or anywhere? No. Never make your plan depend on someone else's actions. Will I be staying in my home or headed somewhere else? Elsewhere, I don't trust my neighbors. If I'm heading out, how do I plan to get there? I have a couple of vehicles to choose from. Got anyone I want to take with me? Not really, but I'll probably have to anyway. How will I communicate with the outside world, or do I plan to go the hermit route? Face to face. I have a radio with a shortwave reciever but no transmitter. How am I planning to get food and water? There are any number of sources for both. What’s my weapon of choice? Do you need to reload that thing? Gotta plan for that? I have a war hammer and several firearms to choose from. The easiest to reload is a muzzel loading rifle, but it is the slowest rate of fire too. Got a survival philosophy? Living is better than dying. Am I willing to hook up with other survivors? Yes, but I'm picky. Is my plan based on a book/movie/blog/scientist other survivors may have heard of? There are a number of good general survival references, and there is The Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks. Also S.M.Sterling's "Emberverse" series (Dies the Fire ect.) are a useful read. There are a number of references for short and long term survival in general.
