I definitely like the roaming aspect. Keeping on the move is a plus because you can find new resources along your way. The only problem is the reliability of the convoy itself. (scenario) Your "light recon vehicles" go off and because they are so open they suffer from a zombie horde. The recon does not return and you presumably have no way of knowing. Now the Legacy. First of all, it's light and fast which means that when it crashes you will be screwed. Trust me. (scenario) Your Lead vehicle stops to inspect a road block. Mr Zack comes out and bites an occupant and you get in the car and go. The driver who is hopped up on adrenalin over-corrects a turn and wipes out. Bye Bye Legacy. (Sorry to bash your car, no hurt feelings?) Those are the only real snaffoos. The Hyundai is very understandable as long as it's armored to some extent and you aren't in it. This is where the scavengers under Z-Day jobs would come in. Another idea for those are early 2000ish Honda Civics for the turning and "dartiness" but suffers from soft panels. One last thing, I saw a post on here saying that garbage and recycle trucks can be used for mobile command centers, not a bad place for the Leader to be.

Thanks. One thing though, the Legacy is NOT light. By no means whatsoever. It's like 3700 pounds, there are trucks that don't weigh that much. And as for skidding out, the Subaru AWD system is pretty kick ass, though the summer tires on my Spec B. are not snow rated at all, so that could be a problem, though they already need to be replaced. I do like the Civics though, I actually just drove a new Civic Si Sedan, and driving stick in that car after driving the Legacy with it's dual clutch and insane weight is so easy. And I love how high that car revs.

wouldnt fuel be a major problem?
you might have some tankers to carry fuel but what about the tankers fuel?
the bigger the car the more it guzzles gas and im sure during z-day gas will be pretty more useful then just burning zombies(which i wouldnt try because fighting a burning zombie is worse).good vehicles to use though.the dodge ram 3500 would be a great zombie plower, maybe if you could get a long razor you could slice zombies up.you plow and slice and whoever else comes up same road will take care of rest.

Ugh, do you have any idea how much fuel we have in the U.S.? The number of gallons is astronomical, and if you take our billion cars off the road that's a lot of gas just sitting around, so fuel really isn't a problem. And tankers run off diesel, which is actually good for fuel economy. And a razor?

well i forgot what they were called but its like a metal plow(sort of a bulldozers kind) with a horizontal blade on it which would just slice through those zombies.
also there is lots of fuel but what about the amount of gas stations? you might say a city has alot but a city also might have alot of undead population and out in the country finding a gas station isnt easy and if you do find it how would you reach it?
there would be millions of cars left abandoned on the highway by people that attempted to evacuate.plus if a gas station has no diesel that means no gas for trucks(also a gas station can run out of fuel if those giant oil tanker trucks dont fill it)

a. I still don't understand that one.
b. Rural areas have plenty of gas stations, and they tend to have larger fuel tanks.
c. You use the tanker's pump to drain the tanks into your truck.
d. That saying that people actually try to evacuate. If it's a virus, there won't be anywhere to evacuate to, and most people will just stay at home in front of their TV's.
e. All gas stations have diesel pumps now a days, so diesel ain't a problem. Plus, most trucking areas have their own pumps.
f. Thanks, I always wondered how they refilled themselves. (sarcasm)

Garbage trucks? yummy
Not a bad idea though. Dump trucks would require less cleaning out.

A good quality tarp stretched over the top would be about all you need for protection in the bed. And for ramming and such, you could fill the bed of one to give it more force.

so i guess this is a good plan,so just asking
you got everything ready but where are you going to go?
roaming around would just be a waste knowing that most of the world is zombified(though moving around is a smart idea).so you would only go where you had enough room for supplies and survivors.
if you had the chance to load up on a barge that could only carry all the survivors you have,a truck with about 3 months supplies and a few guns and one vehicle of choice would you sail off to another island with a small population, kill zombies and just relax and restart humanity(lets say the barge had some seeds and farming stuff and this island would be a small one on hawai)?
other than that i like the plan but you havent addressed anything about looters and maybe the chance of suicidals in your group.zombies arent the only problem.

I'd just keep moving, finding supplies and what not. I don't know anything about boats so I wouldn't be using one.

And if a looter shows up I have a .40 caliber greeting for him. And if the group members off themselves then it sucks for them.
