Hey, guys and gals. My name is Danny. I'm kind of a survivalist, you can normally tell by the way I talk. There's a lot to know about me but I'll keep everything related to zombies and stuff for your convenience. 1. I'm really into firearms, my father and I started collecting them when I was very young so I've grown up shooting and around guns. I've worked with them very often and I have a functioning knowledge of most types of firearms and I know how to maintain and operate quite a few. I tend to be an excellent shot with most guns but I tend to prefer rifles. I'm also handy if you want to know if you're getting a good deal at a pawn shop or gun shop =). I've been around a lot of gun shops and pawn shops and my knowledge of prices and features can come in handy. 2. I'm a big time knife and edged weapons collector, to date I have over 350 knives in my collection. I have a fair amount of knowledge on different steels used in knives and I know how to get them very sharp with a whet stone. I don't have as much knowledge on knife makers as I do firearms makers but I have a good knowledge as to what makes a good knife and what to look for in them. 3. I'm an outdoorsy type of guy and I know quite a few tricks that could come in handy in a pinch. 4. I enjoy long romantic walks by the beach and candle lit dinners. About Me: When I started thinking way too much about zombies: Probably at the age of 15. What started my zombie fixation: Resident Evil. Favorite zombie book: World War Z and The Zombie Survival Guide. Favorite zombie movie: Dawn of the dead, both of them, the original day of the dead, Shaun of the Dead was funny, Zombie Land was funny too, but in a less practical way. I'm not sure if they Evil Dead trilogy counts as a zombie movie. Favorite quote in any zombie movie:" Good? Bad? I'm the guy with the gun", Army of Darkness. My Survival Plan: My “handle” should you look for you on the radio waves or web: I'll either go by Ol' Danny Boy, or Bad-Karma. My location: A place way out in the boonies I'm not mentioning, it's a solid place though quite a ways away from the populated area. I know it quite well. Is my plan dependent on zombies in your home town, or anywhere? It's for any disaster really that entails dangers from humans or zombies. Will I be staying in my home or headed somewhere else? Headed some where else that's not to far away from my home. If I'm heading out, how do I plan to get there? By road mainly, I'm headed there. I'd gather my material and leave at the first sign of any disaster. Got anyone I want to take with me? My household, and girlfriend =). How will I communicate with the outside world, or do I plan to go the hermit route? We'll probably go the hermit route, I don't want to give my position away unless I have to. I might want to get a communication oriented radio at some point or another however. How am I planning to get food and water? I'll have some supplies already but the area has a clean source of water as well as the local wildlife and plants. What’s my weapon of choice? Do you need to reload that thing? Gotta plan for that?My main fighting weapon is a Mak 90 AK clone that's been modified. My sidearm is a Glock 19. My primary melee weapon is a steel tomahawk. I stockpile ammo. I also have a bunch of .22s, hunting rifles, shotguns, and other guns that have ammo stored away too. Got a survival philosophy? Remember the rules of threes, they're critical in any situation not just with Zombies. It only takes 3 seconds to panic and make a choice that can get you killed. It takes less than 3 minutes to die of air loss. It can take less than 3 hours to die from exposure in extreme climates. 3 days without water will kill the average man. You can normally last of to 3 weeks without food. (It won't be pleasant though). Pick practical gear, don't pick things because they look cool or are featured in some video game, pick them because they've been tested and have proved to work. Conserve your ammo, it's better to take your time and make a precise deadly shot than to panic and spray without affect. Am I willing to hook up with other survivors? It depends, on large as to who they are and if I can help them. Is my plan based on a book/movie/blog/scientist other survivors may have heard of? Not so much, I got some of it from common sense and some of it from survival manuals that don't really have anything to do with zombies. My personal fighting rifle.
