About Me: When I started thinking way too much about zombies: In the last couple of years, although I've been interested in them since I was a kid. What started my zombie fixation: Resident Evil (Games), George Romero Movies Favorite zombie book: World War Z- by Max Brooks Favorite zombie movie: Changes all the time. Favorite quote in any zombie movie: My Survival Plan: My location: Orange County, CA- 2nd story condominium. Is my plan dependent on zombies in your home town, or anywhere? Anywhere (can change at any time based upon location and rate of spread.) Will I be staying in my home or headed somewhere else? Initially, I will stay in my home. I have seen the freeways leading out of the county on Friday nights, and that is horrible. In a widespread panic, there's no chance I'm trying that. After a while, I may try to get out of the suburban/ city area. But the closest place that I can think of (that is realistic- because I'm not gonna go live in the forest) is my mom's in Arizona. And that's a long drive, especially if gas isn't available any longer. If I'm heading out, how do I plan to get there? Walking/ biking/ driving. Whatever works. Got anyone I want to take with me? Wife and daughter. Along with anyone else who I can trust and will not be a burden to my family to travel with. How will I communicate with the outside world, or do I plan to go the hermit route? Don't know if I want to communicate or not. Humans are scary people- especially when they are scared or panicked. Why would I want to broadcast where I am to people who want to kill/ rape/ steal from me and my family? I alread have to worry about the zombies trying to kill us. How am I planning to get food and water? I have a fair amount of food and water stored at my condo- enough to last at least a couple of weeks. After that, I don't know. What’s my weapon of choice? Do you need to reload that thing? Gotta plan for that? Depends on what the situation calls for. I have a couple 12 gauge shotguns that are good for close defense of the home. I have a couple of higher powered rifles with high quality scopes for longer shots (that I would not likely use.) A couple of handguns round out the firearms, but those would be a personal defense weapon against non-zombie combatants or secondary to another weapon running out of ammo. I usually keep anywhere from 2,000-4,000 various rounds of ammo for all the firearms at any given time. I also have a nice sturdy axe that can be used to decapitate or turned backwards to smash a zombie head in, as well as various hand tools, 2x4's, etc. Got a survival philosophy? Keep quiet and keep alive. Am I willing to hook up with other survivors? Depends on severity of the situation as well as how much I believe in my gut I can trust them. Is my plan based on a book/movie/blog/scientist other survivors may have heard of? Collection of various resources. Zombie Survival Guide, websites such as this, etc. But, honestly, most comes from regular survival books, sites, etc based on what would happen in a severe economic meltdown or natural disaster (because those a much more likely to happen than the dead rising.)
