Great content additions!1

So I've started posting quite a bit, and I read a lot of other folks' stuff and I gotta admit, mixed with the good stuff, there is some not so accurate stuff on here. I've taken to hopping over to people's profiles to find out if they know what they are talking about. Lot of times can't tell from there, so hoping to start a trend I'm gonna give a quick list of what I'm qualified to talk about. Of course, its a self generated list, so I'm sure people will start to lie on these but here goes.

I was in the Army, MI Poagie all the way, lots of training but didn't have a single patch from the tower of power.

I was a cop in a rural area, no csi style hi tech investigation but got to wrestle some drunks

I was an EMT-B, thats right B, never got to play with drugs, also still certified to teach first aid and cpr but I haven't taught a class in 3 or 4 years.

I own a rental house that needs constance maintenance I'm too broke to contract out, so plumbing, electrical, carpentry I do it all myself

I've got a master's degree in philosophy, so if you want the logic in your argument checked, or maybe to debate some metaphysics or ethics, pm me.

I teach high school science in a rural part of the midwest.

SO that's what I know, if I post on stuff outside those realms, I'm either expressing opinion or I'm full of ****. Call me on it.
About Me:
When I started thinking way too much about zombies: Hasn't hit too much yet, its only paranoia if they're not out to get you.
What started my zombie fixation: Researching general disaster preparedness, saw a lot of zombie stuff and became intrigued.
Favorite zombie book: I can't recall reading anything but World War Z, anyone with recommendations I would appreciate it.
Favorite zombie movie: Dawn of the Dead, the remake had better special effects, the original a better story
Favorite quote in any zombie movie:

My Survival Plan:
Depending on distance from house when it happens I round up all my gear, or just grab bug out bag from my vehicle if I'm not nearby. I head out to pick up any members of my immediate family that aren't with me. If at home, I do this on my bike, if out and about start in car and hoof it if traffic is deadlocked. Pack up the kiddoes and head north from the city to the family farm. A few hours by vehicle, a few days on foot, with water sources, terrain features, and population density already mapped out and considered. Hit the farm and hole up, monitor the radio waves for a few weeks to decide the extent of the outbreak. Ideally, just live on the farm, decent field of fire, low population density mean forting up not really necessary, just put a guy on the roof with a rifle. But if worse comes to worse the extended family packs up and heads for someplace even more remote. Think mountains inaccesible by road, got a place picked out but prefer not to discuss it.

My “handle” should you look for you on the radio waves or web: my screenname
My location: Midwest United States
Is my plan dependent on zombies in your home town, or anywhere? not necessarily the hometown, but within a few states.
Will I be staying in my home or headed somewhere else? a little bit of both.
If I'm heading out, how do I plan to get there? motorcycle while practicable, but mostly shank's mare.
Got anyone I want to take with me? Anyone who wants to come, safety in numbers
How will I communicate with the outside world, or do I plan to go the hermit route? Long distance, think citizen band radio or worst case hollering across the street.
How am I planning to get food and water? Limited stockpile, scavenge as available, and subsistence farming.
What’s my weapon of choice? Do you need to reload that thing? Gotta plan for that? Got a few firearms, and ammunition to last for a good while. While not as much fun, I've got materials and technical knowledge to manufacture good old fashioned cross-bow, bolts, and a pole-arm, as well as some commercially purchased archery gear.
Got a survival philosophy? Those who laugh last think fastest.
Am I willing to hook up with other survivors? As long as they don't seem the blue falcon type.
Is my plan based on a book/movie/blog/scientist other survivors may have heard of? Not so much, but I recommend Kurt Saxon or James Wesley Rawles for folks looking for inspiration.
