The name is Will. There's lots of nicknames that I go by, so almost anything goes. However, I prefer being called Jack. I'm a 21 yr. thinker. I strategize, plan, theorize, etc. All the time. But while I may think quite a bit, I don't mind getting out in the field and seeing my plans through. When I started thinking way too much about Zombies: I've had a slight fascination for zombies for a while now, but I only really gained a significant interest around early '08. What started my zombie fixation: I have no clue. I think I was watching Land of the Dead one day and decided to go online to find out the name of one of the zombie actors. Next thing I know I'm looking through zombie plans and reading the Max Brooks ZSG. Favorite Zombie book: The Zombie Survival Guide by Max Brooks Favorite Zombie movie: Dawn of the Dead (2004) Favorite quote in any zombie movie: Dawn of the Dead (2004) "Is everyone there dead?" "Dead-ish." "Is everyone there dead?" "Yeah. In the sense that they all sort of fell down, and then got up and started eating each other." My score and score summary on the non-lame zombie survival test: My score on The Non-lame Zombie Survival Test: ************************************** Zombie Master. (You scored 76% survivability and 57% kickass-ability!) "You were born for z-day. Not only will you be killing zombies left and right, but you will be leading the other survivors. You will be the one making decisions and the person who is looked to for advice. Congratulations." ************************************** My Zombie Soundtrack/Playlist: Okay, so zombies have swarmed the planet. You can't just sit back and listen to the constant moaning and groaning of the hordes of the undead. You need something to keep your ears [and mind] entertained. Soundtrack 1. Nine Inch Nails - The Day the World Went Away 2. Justice Vs. Simian - We Are Your Friends 3. Static-X - Cannibal 4. Oasis - Stop Crying Your Heart Out 5. Andy Hunter - Go 6. Deftones - Headup 7. Korn - No Place To Hide 8. Marilyn Manson - Long Hard Road Out of Hell 9. Tool - Forty-Six & 2 10. Moby - Bring Sally Up 11. A Perfect Circle - Imagine 12. Mudvayne - F***ing Determined 13. Nine Inch Nails - The Great Below 14. Jerzy Knetig and the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra - Ave Maria 15. R.E.M. - It's the End of the World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine) 16. Richard Cheese and Lounge Against the Machine - Down With the Sickness My Zombie Plan: First, I made my own Zombie Threat Level Chart, because I don't agree with the default Max Brooks configuration. Second, I don't have my planned equipment yet, but I'll still type this as though I did actually have it at the time of the outbreak. *Note: I know some of the items in the list may not seem... realistic... but really, I know of legit places I can get whatever I'll need. Except for the silencers. I'm not quite sure how I'd manage that. But, as long as it works, then why not?* Trancecore's ZTLC: L1- Standard; Zero threat. L2- Standby; Unconfirmed report(s) of possible infection. L3- Low; Infection(s) confirmed. Standard SDC procedure ["Sweep, Dispose, Cover"]. L4- Moderate; Medium threat. Media involvement. Containment of affected areas, and evacuation of unaffected surrounding areas. L5- High; Infection has spread over large area. Military involvement. Travel [domestic and foreign] restricted to authorized personnel. L6- Severe; National threat. Full military activation. L7- Extreme; Infection has gone global. Survive. L8- Apoc; You're probably not reading this one... Trancecore's Carrying Equipment: I'm sort of the unconventional type. I have a preference for heavy armor [for example, I regularly choose steel-toes over slip ons or tennis shoes]. If it's an odd method, I'll probably like it. Which explains a lot about why I chose the items on my list below to be carried with me at all times. Clothing/armor: -Thin, long-sleeved undershirt -Long-sleeve ringmail cuirass -Thin, long-sleeved overshirt -3/4-length duster -Knuckle gloves -Carpenter jeans -Steel-toed boots -Dog tags Weapons: -2 pistols, 5 clips each -2 trench knives -2 hatchets -2 combat knives -1 full length long staff or halberd -1 War Hammer Tools/supplies: -1 Backpack -1 Carpenter hammer -1 Philips screwdriver -1 Flathead screwdriver -1 7-day rations kit -1 Med kit -2 20 ounce plastic bottles -3 Handheld radio devices -3 Flashlights -2 Silencers for the pistols -? Decent supply of compatible batteries -1 Crowbar -? Small supply of desalinizing tablets -1 USB storage device -1 Camera/video + sound recording device Area Of Operations: Since the plan will be covering such a large area, I will be adding screens from Google Maps as a visual aide. I plan on posting images regarding terrain, roads, landmarks, and locations of particular interest. Phase One Now, let's see. Where to begin... My residence is a 2-story townhouse building of an apartment complex, living with my parents, so... Assuming default conditions, I wake up at 0500 Sunday. After a typical morning routine, I turn the TV onto CNN. My mind goes right to L2 as odd events are happening in the NE. Unsettled as I am, I remain skeptic as I fire up my comp to see if I can confirm what is going on. Pictures, audio/video captures... too quality to be some hoax. It's real. L4. I immediately turn off all lights, charge up phones, rechargeable batteries, etc., and clean out the tubs and sinks to begin filling them with water. My parents would be wondering what in the name of Bob I'm doing. I would've had their computer's on by then, so I'd load up whatever I found on their comps and turned the TVs onto whatever channels were broadcasting the events. After gathering up all the necessary research/maps/etc. and allowing my parents a moment to take in the situation, I'd set them down and give them instructions [they'd be freaking out and wanting to take charge, but I'd have them in their places soon enough]. My mom would keep watch from her bedroom window [2nd floor] while my dad grabs his Pathfinder from the parking lot and backs it up to the entryway [It's a small cutout from the front face of the building, and you have to enter and turn right to face the door], crawling out the hatch to come back in [to keep any zombies from impeding our path to the vehicle, also having the bonus of not having zeds trying to knock down my door]. The backyard is fenced in [tall wooden], but the back door is a sliding glass, so my dad would need to block and cover that and the windows while my mom took inventory of what consumables [food, beverages, vitamins, etc] we have. Once we know what all we have and all ground level entrypoints are secured, I can get started with adjusting my plans based on any variables and move on to Phase Two. Phase Two Now that the basics are out of the way, it's time to get ready to work. Contact needs to be made with various individuals, so I'd start getting messages out, hoping they'd all receive them in time. Internet groups and sites [like this one] would be next, along with whoever else I could think of. My parents would be told to alert family members and whoever they could think of, as well.
