Everybody knows that Z-day is going to happen. And as long as we prepare ahead of time and avoid being bitten, this will only take 4-8 years to blow over. But 4-8 years is a long time and after our supplies run out how will we survive. Well, as long as we can organize ourselves i propose a solution. We could set up a network of outposts for different needs, such as: farming, ranching, powerplants, manufacturing plants, ect. These outposts would have to be located along railways for easy transportation and because zombies cant stop trains. with this system we could live through world war z by just letting them rot away. Now im not saying that we should sit around the whole time. there would be outposts for extermination to. As long as the outposts are defended and secured properly this plan couldn't fail.

Nice idea and I think it would work if zombies were the only threat.
But with a breakdown in society comes lawlessness and violence.
I say it wouldn't be anytime at all bewe see the return of bandits and trainrobbers.
Simply removing a peice of track would totally disable if not destroy the train and everyone inside, or at very least make the train have to stop for an extended period of time until the rail could be replaced or if it cannot then the train would have to reverse itself. This would make the train vulnerable to ambush.

All im saying is with zombies only trains would rule but when other humans are put in the mix.
Not to mention organizing trains is very difficult and today is done with censors and gps to avoid trains running into one another.
Who knows how that would work out in a world of zombies.

this is true but every plan and/or idea has weak points.
