Medals: When I started thinking way too much about zombies: After buying The Zombie Survival Guide and World War Zby Max Brooks What started my zombie fixation:Night of the Living Dead Favorite zombie book:World War Z Favorite zombie movie: Shawn of the Dead Favorite quote in any zombie movie:I have come to kick ass and chew bubble gum. And guess who just ran out of bubble gum? My score and score summary on the non-lame zombie survival test: My Plan for Z-Day I live in a fairly low key suburban area of Long Island. Look it up if you want, its near Glen Cove. I'm right on the water and i have easy access to my own sailboat and several friends' boats as well. Me and my friend are both members of the site and have a decent way of making our way through survival come Z-Day. As such, we have three possible plans. A quick thing to point out is that there is NO WAY we will be approaching New York City. A large-scale infection in New York would be too dangerous, and there are better ways of committing suicide. Our first plan is escape. We are going to take one of our boats from harbor and hit the ocean, sailing along Long Island's coast until we can determine the size of the infection. My friend and I (Who I trust with my life in this kind of situation) would then either head either to a designated safe zone (With caution as the Military may be scattered and safe zones may be overrun) or sail back along the coastline until we reach a colder climate up North. If the ZSDW base has been built, Then we are going to determine where is the best place to make landfall and travel by any means necessary to it. If it's on the sea, then we'll sail there along the coast. We are both experienced shots and have frequented shooting ranges. I also have good skills for staying alive off of the ocean until we need to dock for supplies, such as fishing, water purification techniques, and several others. Our second plan is merely to survive the initial outbreak, if it is on LI, then we have something to fear unless we get our boat. If we can, we'll get as far away from LI as possible and warn other people along the coast. If possible, we may head to land, and move west, towards the heartland. We could then go north or escape to the south, into Central and South America. Our third plan is rally a group of other people who have survived the initial outbreak in the school not a block from my house. These people will be thoroughly searched for any bite wounds or other such problems and will be quarantined in their own classrooms. After a waiting period of just over a day, the Zombies in the rooms will be dispatched and the survivors let out. The gym area has a double door entrance that should hold well, and is the only entrance of the building not sealed magnetically. This should give us some time to barricade the entrances until the generator runs out of fuel. The roof is easily accessible and has a retractable ladder. I have a homemade water purification system that works very efficiently and once again we would use combined stores of food and loot a few supermarkets before we get settled in. My friend and other survivors will clear the building before any effort is made to stay in it. As for a renewable food supply, we have the situation worked out using the courtyards of the school, which Ilaiddown originally with some other volunteers, so i know that there are at least six feet of useable soil in each of them. We would use signs, flares, flags, and signal mirrors to contact the rest of the world and any survivors we're in contact with. Bug out Bag I have just updated my bug out bag and I think it is sufficient for basically every zombie scenario. It contains: 1) Matches, lots of them, in a waterproof container 2) LeathermanMulti-tool 3) Mini Mag Lite and batteries 4) Small Hand Axe (sharpened) 5) Extensive first aid kit 6) 50' of nylon climbing rope 7) Homemade flares and backup fireworks 8) 6" Hunting knife 9) Whetstone for knife 10) Sleeping bag 11) Homemade water purification set 12) signal mirror 13) 5-years of wilderness survival training 14) A .22 rimshot with 50 rounds 15) Mess kit 16) duct tape 17) camel pack 18) MREs 19) survivor spirit
