Dependent on my home town Will I be staying in my home or headed somewhere else? I will bug in for a while. If I'm heading out, how do I plan to get there? Back roads Got anyone I want to take with me? My wife and son, and my approved Bug Out buddies(and their families) How will I communicate with the outside world, or do I plan to go the hermit route? I will use ham radios, and cb radios. How am I planning to get food and water? I have a fresh water stream on my property, and I am looking into drilling wells. I have enough land to grow crops, and raise livestock. I will have enough food in storage to survive for a year or two, until the crops begin to produce. What’s my weapon of choice? Crowbars(easy to get) with 6 guns to use initially Do you need to reload that thing? Yes I am learning to reload shells, and acquiring a large cache of ammo Gotta plan for that? I plan on acquiring supplies slowly, and only buying if it is a really great deal. I use Craigslist(especially the free section.), and freecycle groups extensively, so I don't have a lot of capital tied up in supplies. Got a survival philosophy? Anyone who comes to the gate Post ZPOC, risks getting shot. Am I willing to hook up with other survivors? I am willing to hook up with other survivors, but only after 18 months. anyone after that time would have to go through quarantine for two weeks at least. Is my plan based on a book/movie/blog/scientist other survivors may have heard of? NO, I am looking for real world solutions. My experience: 7 years, US Army Medic, served in artillery units, MP units, and Special Forces reserve units(National Guard) 30 years training in martial arts(Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Aikido) Fencing training, and Fencing club member in college Iaido and Kendo Training Lived through the Hurricane season of 2005(Hurricanes Katrina, and Rita), which included the nightmare evacuation of Hurricane Rita. Also sheltered in place for Hurricane Ike,(My dumb assed quote for IKE, "it is only a category 1 when it will hit land, lets stay where we are. It can't be that bad. Let's not go through that evac crap again!") Two and a half weeks later, we finally get power and water services!!!!!!
