well you'll definitely want to head north... if you are heading north... what would be your ideal thought of direction? into the desert, south towards mexico, or north to canada?let me know what you are considering and i can start discussing that |

"well you'll definitely want to head north... if you are heading north... what would be your ideal thought of direction? into the desert, south towards mexico, or north to canada?Well north would take a while and through quite a few people but my aunt and uncle live north ward and my sister as well my aunt and uncle would be useful as they live ranch like places. South on the other hand is a shorter distance and could be at the border with in a day. Also they have a ton of guns down there that i could scavenge. The problem i see is that there are high amount of gangs and such that would probably turn raider. So North is were i am going well because of family and once things settle down we can head toward your party. |

okay. especially since the farther south (you said north cali you lived, correct?)you go, the more hostile it could become. well north of ya is oregon and washington, heavy forest areas. youd be safe out there. i suggest the next thought out of sheer curiosity. . . the northward cities may be untouched by infection, however... british columbia, just north of washington, has a large commune of asian populations... its practically an international hub, similar to san fransisco (or as far as i know) if so... you may wish to proceed a bit eastward, but id advise staying in the cooler climates. i dont suggest you going into desert terrain at all unless its the only way to a target location |

"okay. especially since the farther south (you said north cali you lived, correct?)Yep North Cali once the Sierras are out of my way i should be able to move east a bit. Really on the British Columbia i will give it a bit of a berth so that just in case the infection spread there. |

Hey so i plan on hugging the mountains because the Capital is North of me and beyond that Sacramento. So the mountains are more viable because i am not getting near oakland or San Francisco.

As long as you can get to the rocky mountains, you should be alright. If I lived anywhere near the west cost that's exactly where I'd be heading. If the terrain is difficult for you, imagine how tough it would be for infected or bands of raiders to get through. Especially of they're fixed to somthing like a convoy. Head north to the mountains. Even if you get to Washington state, you'd be just fine. Lots of lumber. Water is pleantiful land is furtile fish are close mountains = protection. |

there are so many natural features on that end of the states that i sometimes envy that wild landscape. one can live out there and never be bothered for years. heck a community could possibly sprout up in the mountains and never see a zombie. on a negative... besides the fact that heavy snows do occur, one such negative of the isolation is the lack of ACTUAL targets. even if a community or group were to keep the mentality to always be on the lookout, lack of seeing even one zombie for a lengthy period of time could weaken the skills of a shooter. and i dont think said shooter(s) would be taking target practice either... limited ammunition. without even a minor refresh of ammo from some sort of trade or what not, a group could not train on current stockpiles unless their original ammo count numbered in the thousands, if not higher. up there, its years of isolation. and id welcome it, but before i seal myself off from the chaos of this world and postzday world, id make sure i was packing plenty of ammo as well as a few unused weapons that can replace others for whatever reason... for that to work, one needs to be prepared... i think if i get enough money, my ultimate goal is a couple kalashnikovs, and 3 ARs, one of which id hope be automatic.. just for "kicks" |

"As long as you can get to the rocky mountains, you should be alright.True but the problem is i live in the valley so everyone is going to try and get out of there. So unless i am the first there it would take a while to get out. |

hey, if worst comes worst... if your valley has only limited exits, and the one you get to is clogged, you can go pyro and throw molotovs to clear your way... bad idea.but i mean, something that will make people get the f*CK OUT of your way. youd need a team my friend. a couple rifles or even a couple sharp deadly objects will scare most people sh*tless. then they will really feel fear when the zombies show =] wait, why did i put a smiley? |

Hey how long do you think satellites would last? five years. If so we coordinate what we are doing and share better ways to survive that way when contact dies we have better chance of surviving it.

On the part i can't drive yet let alone get a gun other then some knifes i have hid around the house just in case my gear is limited. |

you need not worry... you have close friends and family?if so.. well, you ever heard the phrase 'be a leader not a follower"? in this 'normal' world, you can act like a leader.. make your own choices.. i dont mean offense by this line... but if yur plannin on being a man, you gotta take charge. but i have faith you're like that =] just dont be a d*ck, and people will respect you and what you say. if you tell them what to do ON ZDAY then they'll listen. sometimes its best not to teach people directly about zombies in this time.. sometimes it backfires and people youve known five years call you a paranoid gun freak... sorry flashback lol. btw nice job with the hidden blades. i make my own out of gardening tools and the like.. just recently i finished a saw like piece... i looked for a place and tossed it behind a shelf in the living room... just close enough that i can grab it and pull it out. stashing weapons is damn smart. good job |

"thats something i wanna know..most satellites are controlled by govt and they have to occasionally maneuver them due to space debris... it wont last forever, but just enough for everyone to set up shopin their BOLs, and record their lives and shoot it across the web.. diary of the dead was a good example |

Hey but i figured out a back up plan in case i can't make it North i going to head through the mountains and head to the Midwest then North. Not as much population and probably less rules on guns so = more guns to find also seeds from the farmers stashes i can take.

true, but the isolation of people out there does mean more guns. it also means you wont be taking from the few houses you find because they are still occupied. be careful about that. some of those places could have a family or two holed up with automatics... ya never know
