About Me:
When I started thinking way too much about zombies: After i read Max Brooks Survival Guide (Purely for the comical nature)

What started my zombie fixation: The zombie movies in Hollywood

Favorite zombie book: ZOMPOC: How to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse by Michael and Nick Thomas

Favorite zombie movie: tie between Night of the Living Dead (original) and Zombieland

Favorite quote in any zombie movie: "OH GOD, PLEASE DON'T KILL ME WITH MY OWN GUN!"- Tallahasse in Zombieland.

My Survival Plan:
My “handle” should you look for you on the radio waves or web: Raptor 1

My location: Tennessee

Is my plan dependent on zombies in your home town, or anywhere? I have a plan for both.

Will I be staying in my home or headed somewhere else? I will try to fortify my house since I live in a less populated location, unless the need to flee to a predetermined location arises. I believe that the best thing I can do is to stay put. I live in a small rural area where most of my neighbors are family or close friends. We help each other out daily and I beleive that we would be well equipped to ride out a disaster if the time come. Besides, in an area that I know well such as the inside of my home I will have the tactical advantage, plus I will have the advantage of cover and the protection of the home. With that being said, I will not make the fatal mistake of being too attached to my physical property either. Like with natural disasters people are sometimes killed or at the very least cut off from society because they held on to "stuff" too long and did not Bug Out when it was still possible.

If I'm heading out, how do I plan to get there? Car/Truck, horseback, or walking.

Got anyone I want to take with me? my wife and kid, extended family, and battle buddies in my unit that have the same feeling about Zeds as me.

How will I communicate with the outside world, or do I plan to go the hermit route? I don't plan on communicating much due to the fact you never know who you let in your group. But, in the select few times I may need to communicate it will be via CB radio or two-way radio. In the future I plan on getting my HAM license and buying a HAM radio.

How am I planning to get food and water?I have some stores set up that would last my family and I about 6 months. This should give me time to scavenge until supplies run low, all the time hunting, fishing, and growing food since I am a down home country boy :-) I have some seeds that I save from my previous years garden, but it is not much. I am going to look into a seed bank soon so I can prepare a garden. I have done summer gardening for years but am wanting to experiment with fall and winter crops to supplement my summer crops. I also want to build a small green house for winter gardening.

I have several gallons of store bought water stored with my preps, and I will fill every pot, sink and tub in my house to take advantage of every bit of space I can if I have a warning. My house has a well that I plan to put a hand pump on for water in the future. Also, I will catch rainwater and use the lake near my house. I will use boiling, filtration systems and purification tablets as need to make water potable. I am looking into investing in 4 or 5 rain barrels also.

What’s my weapon of choice? Do you need to reload that thing? Gotta plan for that? Ok, my weapon of choice will be a combination of my Bushmaster Carbon-15, my XD 45 ACP and a melee weapon such as a warhammer or other blunt objects.. not a fan of bladed weapons for Zeds. Also, my dad has a reloading press to reload , but I plan on buying one for myself soon to keep my stock pile up and running. I have a ton of different firearms, but those are my favorite.

Got a survival philosophy? my survival philosophy is to remain unnoticed, stock pile and ration food and water, hold up in a well fortified house, and evade and avoid when outside of the base.

Am I willing to hook up with other survivors? Unless it is someone I know or have observed several times from a distance probably going to stick to my tight little group and fend for ourselves. Once the panic is over and there is a little bit of order I would not be opposed to trading and communicating with other small groups.

Is my plan based on a book/movie/blog/scientist other survivors may have heard of? it is a combination of all of them. My plan is the same as many books and movies make famous and several people on here share. I know some people would say, "it never works in the movies!" And I would reply, "There is always some fatal mistake that the writers add for a plot twist to make that happen." I believe that by being careful and avoiding other survivors as well as Zeds that I will have a much better chance of survival. My small team is a well rounded group that has many skills that will be very useful and I believe that if we remaintacticallyand technically proficient and keep our heads down we will be fine.
