Hello everyone! Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.
I found a show that I think everyone who thinks of a, living in the north come the apocalypse. and or b, raising cattle-living off the land. Discovery Channel's "Alaska The Last Frontier". Its about a family unit who has lived in Alaska for around 80 years, living off of hunting, fishing, ranching. They have multiple generations living there, and would be reminiscent of a group of survivors come zombie apocalypse. It has alot of good info and techniques about living on your own, with little contact with society, and surviving in a harsh environment that has terrible winters. I have been able to catch it on the tv, but also on PutLocker.com. Enjoy!

We have all seen a zombie movie or played a zombie game where there is a designated sniper, shotgun guy, leader, technician, etc. In the event of a zombie apocalypse, is this necessary, or are jobs given on the fly?

If I knew a zombie outbreak, or something similar, was prone to happening soon and I had enough time to order a few things online, what should I consider when ordering gas masks?
I figure that the virus may be airborne so I would want to have protection. The virus wouldn't be something strong so the filters should last a while, right? But what happens when the military uses chemicals to wipe out the infected? I would need a really strong filter and possibly full body protection to survive, right? I also don't have a ton of money, so I can't buy fifty filters of the best brand. Can someone throw me some ideas?

When someone mentions zombies, you think of a decomposing human wanting to bite you. But there are other zombies out there. More dangerous than human zombies. Think of a Zombie ant. It can creep through your defences and bite you. Not much, you wouldn't ever notice. Then you turn into a zombie, killing your allies. You wouldn't be by yourself, because, lets face it, Last human on earth is for the movies. Mosquitoes, too. Imagine all those bugs out there. Bug Spray wouldn't work, because they are already dead. Will they die from the virus? Or will they mutate and try to kill you? Post what you think and any solutions to this. We cannot escape the zombies forever. It is only a matter of time before they rise.
Any plans would be appreciated also.

I see I'm the first to post in this section, also this is my first post on the forum. Been reading off and on for a few months now. Anyways, short history bout me. I'm goin on 6 year of being in a wheelchair.. T8/9 para, so nothing really from my belly button down...
Anyways, live in the Midwest, out in the country. Grew up on a farm and still farm. So I definately have a skill set many others I know that do not... I have a pretty good plan, and am plenty prepared compared to most people. Already have a few BOL's in mind. Although I do live about 15-20 miles away from a city pop. ~125,000... So that might kinda suck as the already "citiots" venture out into the country...lol Already have plenty of medical supplies. Can get by without any prescriptions if needed. Family is close, have a diesel pickup I can be in/out of in less than 2 minutes (chair loaded and ready to go mind you) Big shop with welder, lots of steel, bulk fuel, grow own food, can, etc... Guns/bullets... Got that covered, although there are a few more I'd like to invest in... :) Any suggestions, comments? I'm ready for the flaming!!

I have already organized a team of friends to plan against the zombie invasion and outbreak. I'm the Leader because im the one who has all the skills, brains, speed, will, compromising, tactics and plans. i will do anything i can to kill all the zombies and stop the outbreak, i will also do anything i can to keep my team safe and healthy. They follow my orders out of respect, not fear. Do you think I deserve to be the Leader of my team?

Most people have something wrong with their body from terrible eye sight, to Asthma, or being a ginger
The idea is to come up with ways to fix the problems in the Apocalyptic world especially when you depend on medicine, or your eyesight is always changing, the things you just can't plan for So post your disabilities or possible health problems and solutions for other peoples problems

TR and his gun thread got my gears turning on going back to basics.
Post a method of starting a fire other than lighters matches or flint and steel. Steel wool and a battery. Touching the steel wool to the battery contacts causes the steel wool to burn rapidly. Easily starting a fire.
