Ok guys, its time to start another community story, so those that missed out on starting the last one can add onto this one.

The Rules are simple, post an addition to the story that does not have continuity errors. Also you must read everything before posting.

These are the Guidelines:

Clearly state what person is speaking(please refrain from 3rd person, it gets confusing), try not to use a name more then once (don't use 2 different Davids), or names that are too similar(like Jack and Jake). AND make sure its at least semi realistic, no butterfly knives in school or guns that are impossible to get (sorry Teddy).

At least try to have decent grammar, and break the text into paragraphs; it really helps legibility.

Otherwise, just have fun with the story.

If you want to start the story, go right ahead. If not I'll be starting later tonight.

Great here I am in the middle of the biggest Halloween party in the town, and I'm the only one not drunk. Just my luck. Not like I chose to try to get drunk, I've just never been a big drinker now its 3:00 AM and I'm the only one who can drive everybody home.
"T.J. gimme a ride home man." Damon says. I look at him and reluctantly let him in the car.
He opens the door and as he turns, I notice a bite on his arm.
"What's that from?"
"Huh, oh its nothing, just got in a little fight some guy bit me so I busted him right in the nose. It was weird though he didn't start bleeding." Damon says looking a little unnerved.
I push the shifter to first gear as we pull away from screaming party members. Just my luck everything gets another jump start and I'm driving my drunk friend home. As I fly by the scenery I wished my radio would work Damon stirs a little in his sleep. I pull into his drive way he snaps alert.

"Damon, man you got impeccable timing." his head turns to me he opens his mouth as if to yawn but a eerie moan fills the air.
I tense up and he lunges towards me. I grab the door handle and fall hard on my back into his drive way.
He struggles in his seat belt still trying to lunge at me i kick the door shut from the ground, and stand up.
cupping my hands over my eyes i look into the window he is still struggling. I run into the house and grab the phone. I dial 911 and get no reply i try again same luck. I pull out my cell phone and panic grips me as i see the low battery signal fade to a black screen.
"OK,umm." I repeated it again and again I heard glass shatter.

****, that's my car! I ran outside to see some older kid with a baseball bat beating Damon's head in.
" What the hell are you doing?" I yelled the kid looked around and took off running I checked Damon's wounds his head was completely caved in I sighed and a tear slid down my face. I looked around and as I did it hit me that this can't be a single incident. gazing off in the direction of town i saw a cloud of black smoke rising over the town i hopped in my truck and raced towards the fire.
Damon's body shifted with every bump I hit, as i pulled into town several cop cars blockaded the church and people were running towards them i pulled up and the cop with a Fu Manchu mustache directs me behind the car while he holds up a black shotgun in the other hand.
"Get inside get food and a weapon then get your ass back out here." he barked at me.
I casually strolled inside to a scene of total anarchy; people from all over town were here; there was that cute girl from the party nursing what looked like a broken leg, Jane, my next door neighbor. A retired farmhand held a shotgun and was yelling for everyone to calm down, and finally I found James. He was tucked away under a sheet in the corner a doctor was checking his eyes. I looked and saw that his cheek and been torn by some creature.

A female swat officer walked up to me and tells me to grab a gun and get back to the front of the church.
"But I don't have a gun." I say she looks around and i follow suit then she hands me the Beretta she had tucked in her holster. I quietly take the gun she turns and walks away I make sure no one is looking and I rack the slide. Looking to my left I spot an open window. I step towards it and make sure theirs nothing near it. Good, I think. Here goes nothing... I hit the ground and take off as fast as i can. The last thing I hear is gunfire coming from the front of the church. I can only hope somebody survived.

“The hypotenuse of this triangle is = to Y to the 3rd power minus X.” As I listen to my math teacher ramble on about triangles, X’s, and Y’s I think a little about the return of the swine flu outbreak. While it continued all summer, it seemed to change strains in October with strange symptoms. I would know what these symptoms are, but there were some “technical difficulties” and the news was cut off. Luckily the internet was up, but I have to wait until next period to check that out. And if by magic, people start to pack up and the bell rings.

I head down to the computer lab to check the news. It’s a large room, with a large ceiling and tiered levels. Each row of tables with computers were on the same level as a step. I was near the top, along with 4 other people. One is a slacker who doesn’t say much, another is an annoying slacker who refuses to move from my left. On my right are two friends who like to have a bit of fun sometimes. Anyway, so I log into my computer and just as I get on msn.com a bloodied student runs in.
He starts yelling something about zombies and brains, and he freaks out the whole room.

Normally such a thing would be ignored, especially on Halloween. But alas, 3 things were different that day.
1) the outbreak of the new more powerful 2009 swine flu just started,
2) it was obviously someone else’s real blood covering the student, and
3) a senior walks in and tackles the poor kid who is quickly being eaten.
Now I’m never one to just watch something like this happen, so I take my hard cover super sized bio book and chuck it at the senior. Did I mention I’m the only one in the school who carries all his books all day, and that the seniors neck was already partially eaten? Lets just say the book beheaded the senior, and a chair from a nearby frightened student finished off his victim.

Now this really freaks out the class. After blocking off the exits, and some yelling, me and the teacher get them back in order.
“Alright, we have to decide what to do, before those things come back” says Mr. Bostrand, the teacher,
“ I got an idea, how about we head to the auto shop?” I say to the class. We all agree, because with the nearby woods room that area has metal, wood, cars, tools, weapons, and wire windows it makes a great holdup area.
After grabbing some books form the nearby bookroom, and some chairs we head out into the hallways. We started running towards the back of the building, hoping that our group of 20 isn’t spotted. We were just at the east end in the back of the school when we see 15 zombies. Sadly this isn’t some story in which 20 people can fend off 15 infectious zombies with only books and chairs, so we run back the way we came and head further east. There are some scattered zombies here, but after some chair tackles and book throws it is a clear shot to the auditorium.

Just as we get near the auditorium side doors, some infected band players attack us. We manage to get inside the auditorium, but we lose 5 people. I run nearby to use some plastic chains to lock up the double door. Inside the auditorium we find 5 tech crew members. They are: Will a 300 pound giant who can lift things through hell or high water, Keith a get up and go kind of guy who is good at building things, Victor a klutz whose dad lets him practice with the family rifle, and Trotter who is kind of the Chuck Norris of north high school. If something goes wrong, Trotter can always find a way to fix it. And lastly Mr. Pietri, a 300 pound man who can work for days without eating(and has, which is unhealthy BTW) and knows how to make anything on the fly.

So along with the survivors, me and the tech crew start using the nearby lumber rack to barricade the doors. We screw in some planks across the double doors, use Mr. Pietris' god key to lock all the exits up, and find weapons such as crowbars for just in case. We are all tired and in shock, so we call it a day and head up to the balcony(only accessible from backstage stairs) and set up a watch to guard the stairs. As I drift of into the comforting embrace of sleep, I think about how the heck we are going to get food and guns to properly defend ourselves with.

I keep the 9mm trained in front of me as I follow the winding street through town. News papers kick up and I smell smoke on the wind. God, I wish I knew what was happening. As I approach main street I see a man staggering towards me. He is obviously drunk; the slow shuffle of a drunk where one leg steps and the other drags. He then steps into the light of a new dawn; his side is bleeding it and looks like a dog torn it out. His hazy, white eyes lock with mine and I point the gun at his chest.

"Sir, please take a step back." He staggers forward, opens his mouth and lets out a low moan. I hear a staggering step behind me.
I quickly turn around and a women steps forward, missing half of her scalp and cheek. I flip the safety off the weapon and unload two 9mms' into her chest. The rounds cause her to stagger but she doesn't slow down in the least. I let loose 3 more bullets; by now she is close enough to grab me. Her cold hands wrap around my wrist and she brings her head in to bite me. Shoving the gun barrel to her head I plaster her brain against the brick walls around me. Gray and red brain matter splatter the ground and she falls forward, pinning me.

The man kneels over me and is about to bite when I grab his throat and push him to the side. Then, rolling out from under the woman I kick the man in the head and leap to my feet. I run towards the highschool and see whatever the creatures are staggering around the road ways.

The highschool is in view and it looks safe. As I approach I see a broken out window. By examining the glass I can tell that some thing wanted out not in. I climb through the school window and shut the classroom door behind me.
"HELLO!?" I call out down the hall way. I hear an echo of something that sounds like nails being pounded into wood. Cautiously I step towards it. I stop, then release the clip on the 9 mm to count my bullets. 4 left with one in the chamber. I hope that their are people here.

I guess I can leave you guys with that feel free to use my character. He's 17, can shoot a gun, is a smoker, rubs snuff, and doesn't let anybody know what he is thinking seems like a hard ass but is actually effected by everything. Also pay attention to detail as to save his life as well as other lives.

I walk along the alleyway behind my street, the slow drizzle of rain pouring from the grey skies is comforting, it makes me feel more at home. I kick a stone and it makes a series of loud hollow clunks. I wish I could be back home, I snap of some 'Hersheys Chocolate', I still miss Cadburies. I turn as I reach my new back gate and open it, trudge up the garden to the french doors and into my new American home that smells of new carpet and pine fresh.
I walk into the living room and sprawl on the sofa. I sigh and the front door slams, my dad walks into the room, still wearing his lab coat, he smelled of pine fresh like always, he'd been decontaminated again, he worked with different strains of swine flu, trying to find vaccines, he'd been mumbling yesterday about some colombian strain that restarted your cardiovascular system, I didn't pay much attention, I just asked him if he would be done so we could fly home soon.
" I hate it here!" I tell him,"I wish we'd never come, please take me home!"
"That's where I wish we were too right now son." My dad sighed.
"Well what the ****! You brought us here Dad, this was your golden opportunity, America was supposed to be your big break, and it's also my big break, my big break from life!" I shouted, pissed off to the core.
"NOT NOW SON!" He glared at me, "We need to leave, right now!"
I had not even started at High School yet, we've lived here a week and my dad wants to leave, this makes so much sense!
My dad looked at me blankly and ordered me to grab a few belongings.
I walked upstairs,
"QUICKLY!" he shouted,
I ran upstairs, stuffed a few clothes into my bag, threw a battered picture of my old friends in and then a picture of me, my mum, my sister and my dad. I didn't care about the clothes they were all new, Dad wanted us to start 'afresh' as he put it.
I came downstairs with my bag and he honked the horn, I ran outside and climbed into the black dodge, a company car, we'd never've afforded it otherwise, and again that constant smell of pine fresh. He turned to me,
"Whatever happens, I want you to promise me something, promise me whatever happens you'll get home to your mother?"
"I.. I.. I"
"PROMISE!"
"Ok, I will." and with that he reversed out of the drive and swung out onto the wide road, he pushed hard down on the accelerator and we drove north through the town, passed the high school, some kids were messing about because it was halloween, pretending to bite each other, I laughed but I had to double take, must've been fake blood I thought. He took one look and sped up he took us further and further out of the town, he turned left toward the road out of town, passed the church and BANG, he smashed into a man, the man slid up onto the bonnet and my dad swerved to the right, the man rolled off the car and onto the road, my dad again sped up,
"DAD What are you doing, you just ran a person over! Even in the US that's illegal!"
"THAT WASN'T A PERSON!"
"What?" I questioned him. He didn't reply just looked on, he turned right so hard that the car nearly spun, again we headed north, he turned slightly to the right on to the road towards Chicago, he forgot to check what was coming and a huge haulage truck slammed into the side of the car, it felt as though a giant picked up and threw the car along the road, we tumbled and rolled and bounced, halfway to Canada and came to a rest infront of the Welcome to [Insert town name here, I was thinking something like Green Oaks or Amity Cover etc] sign. I rubbed the back of my neck, the car was upside down and i was hanging, suspended by my seatbelt, I released the mechanism and plummeted to the floor, hitting my head on the deflated air bag,
"SO MUCH FOR I LIFE SAVING DEVICE!" I kicked the door open, I climbed out and peered in at my dad, expecting him to get out any moment, any moment now, he's just unconcsious i'll give him a minute,
"Dad, dad, wake up!" I spoke, the fear in my voice obvious. I ran to the otherside of the car, shook him
"Dad get up come on. DAD WILL YOU WAKE UP!" I shouted at him, scared because of the truth, angry because he would just leave me here. His head lulled straight down and his eyelids fluttered open, the light gone from his eyes, the vacant expression, the empty euphoria of death filled his eyes. I had to give him some dignity.
I unbuckled his belt, and dragged him out of the car, I placed him on the grass verge lay him face up, closed his eyes and placed his palms, crossed, against his chest. I kissed him on the forehead, crying, and realising for the first time in a long time, I loved my dad, but I'd never said it, I was too much of a man too love anyone.
"Goodbye Dad." I whispered, it felt rushed but he was scared of something, and he wanted me to leave immediately, there was no way out of town without walking so I decided to go back into town and try and hitch a lift to chicago, I quickly checked my Dads pockets, i took his wallet and two tickets to London Heathrow, 7pm on November 1st. I needed to get to O'Hare Airport by 7pm the next day, shouldn't have been to hard.
I swivelled on my heels and headed back into town.
I walked slowly into town, confused, bewildered and scared. I walked past WalMart and down the high street, there weren't many shops open, I decided to go to the Police Station, I was walking down the road, slowly, looking at my feet, focusing on putting one foot in front of the other when i heard a grunt
"euuugh ech" I looked up an old women looked at me,
"probably 'scaped from an old peoples home." I mumbled, I carried on and she grunted again
"eugh eugh euuuuugh" she looked at me and the right side of her face collapsed she looked at me and coughed, blood started to dribble down her chin. She staggered toward me, she lunged, it felt wrong but I slyly side stepped and she fell onto the 'sidewalk'
"What the **** old lady!" I turned and started to walk away but a cold hard vice gripped my foot , I looked down and a grey hand gripped my ankle, blood was pouring from under the old ladies fingernails, I wriggled my foot to no avail then the woman tried to bite me,
"Sorry *****!" I said, fiercely then i nudged her head with my foot and with an evil instinctive look in here eyes she tried to sink in her teeth so then I stamped on her face, and I stamped, and I stamped, quite a lot actually. Her Brains dribbled onto the pavement and into the cracks between the concrete slabs, I looked down horrified as her hand went limp, I tugged my foot out, pulling off her ring finger, with a tiny squirt of blood, blood continued to run down the small hill toward the police station, I turned and ran, my leg covered in blood, I ran faster than I'd ever run before full with fear I ran superhumanly, I charged up the stairs to the police station and burst through the door,
"SHOOT IT NOW!"...
"NO WAIT!" Shots pounded the wall next to me and i jumped to the floor,
" STOOOP!" Someone shouted, the bullets ceased,
"We got a live one Sheriff!" A man shouted,
"Bring him to me." Another man summoned.
I was stuck to the floor, Step, step, step, someone walked over and picked me up by my collar, they thrust me into his office and sat me on a chair.
"Hello son, what's your name?" He said calmly,
"It's my dad he's been in a crash, I think he's dead and this old woman attacked me and tried to bight me and I think I killed her and I didn't mean to I was just scared and I ran hear," I blurted out,
"Calm down son, don't worry from what we can tell the whole counties gone to the dogs, or more the undead..." he responded,
"undead WHAT!" I though April fools day was for joking around.
"There's been an outbreak of some virus, it escaped from the Hick Medical Facility, they were testing strains of virus or something." he broke off when he realised he'd said to much but he looked up and saw a look on my face as pieces clicked into place, my dad's mumblings, his need to get away, the fear he expressed.
"I think my dad was working on the 'virus'." I said, distantly
"Hmm, we may need to speak to him.", he replied
" WEREN'T YOU LISTENING, he's dead, we had a crash as he tried to flee to London!" I shouted, but emphasized the coldness in my voice.
Suddenly there was the sound of gunfire, then an officer ran in,
"Sherr..." he was tackled by a 'zombie' and I stood up, the sheriff turned and picked up his Berretta,
"GET OUT OF HERE!" the sheriff shouted, I ran out the fire exit and bumped into a female SWAT officer,
"follow me" she whispered, we ran down the backstreets, or up. We ran to the church and she called for me to go inside but I couldn't the graveyard was full of them, I didn't want to so I kept on running.
I ran right down the road and ran toward the High School, there were people outside eating each other! There was a broken window and I ran toward it, one of them seemed to be doing the same, the window had been blown outwards, I hope what needed to leave had left.
I climb in and approach the door, I hear a distant shout of hello, the door to the hallway is shut and I slowly open the door there's a boy just down the hallway, I'm not sure if he's one of them, I observe and creep toward him, he has guns and looks clean,
"Oi." I whisper, he turns around and I feel a burning pain on my face, all goes black and I fall against the wall.
I wake up next to a 18 year old possibly, maybe younger, I sit up and he exclaims
"Now that you're awake I can leave,"
"Wait!" , I call as he turns to leave
"First let's go to the Auditorium there must be some survivors listen it sounds like someone barricading themselves in." We listen to the dull THUD THUD THUD, Ching, THUD THUD THUD,
"You're right." He stands up and pushes open the fire exit into the auditorium expecting it to be barricaded he chares it and falls straight through, trying to maintain the 'hard white guy' look he stands brushes himself off and declares
"You forgot to barricade that door you *********!", I try hard to stifle a laugh as the seriousness of the situation is completely ******* mental. I guess I have to admit it now, zombies, real zombies are lose. ******************! They Barricade up the auditorium then everyone climbs onto the balcony via the backstage stairs giving us a bit more vital protection, the boy who seemingly punched me in the face turns and speaks to me
"I'm T.J sorry for your face, I just never seen you 'round before." He told me,
"Don't worry I hadn't even started this place yet, name's Joe." A voice behind us makes T.J jump,
"Well now we're on introductions, sorry did I make you jump?, I'm Erdab," We all shook hands it seemed very cordial and almost fake, I guess we all had our minds on what lay, waiting, outside the hall.

one of many nameless apartment buildings in Mountbatten Row IL...

I pumped the shotgun one last time and fired straight into the limping figure. it stumbled, but ultimately kept coming towards me.
"What the **** is up with this guy?" I asked my buddy Ozzy, who stood next to me with his 19111 pistol trained on the being.
"I dont know, but its freaking me out, should I put him down?"
"No, I want to try this." I brought the shotgun to my shoulder and aimed, then, when I was sure I would hit, I pumped and fired, sending a slug straight through the persons skull. this time, it fell over.
"Hows that? wasting three slugs into the guys gut and he still comes to us?" Ozzy asked, lowering his pistol. "Whats going on here?"
"I dont know," I answered "But I dont want to find out."

at one hundred and fifty six pounds, people often think they can take me, but more then often, I show them their wrong, by hurling them over my shoulder, or dropping them in two hits. I had worked on a farm for my whole life and am used to lifting. because of that, you'd probably think that I wouldn't need to drag Ozzy around, and that he's just dead weight, but I was never more glad to have him around then on that day. He has been around guns longer then I have, and knows more about them. he could easily pick up an M4 carbine and fire it like a BB gun. together, we made a pretty good team. he was an awesome shot, and at close range, I was devastating. so he could cover me while I went down and delt with what needed to be delt with. he was also pretty knowledgeable when it came to making explosives, such as Molotov cocktails. more or less, he was a pretty good guy to have around in the situation i was in.

we made our way down the hallway of the deserted apartment building making sure to quiet our steps as to not wake up any of the weird zombie creatures that might have been sleeping in any of the rooms. when we made it to the ground floor, a sweet, disgusting smell filled our noses. when we opened the door, I saw something that almost made me throw up. blood was splattered all over the walls, dead bodies, decapetated torsos, and severed limbs were strewn about everywhere.
"Jesus Christ." Ozzy said, stepping over the bodies, making his way to the doors. "What happened?" but I wasn't paying attention. I was looking at a severed head that lay at my feet.
"Do you recognize him?" I asked. Ozzy looked at the head and stopped dead in his tracks. it was his brother, David. "****, I'm sorry man." i said. but Ozzy didn't respond, and turned and strode out of the building. I held the Shotgun with one hand and ran after him.
"Look man, I'm sorry, but this isn't the time, or the place to be upset." I said grabbing him by the shoulder and turning him around. "We can mourn later." he nodded and holstered his pistol.
"I saw on the news that the coast guard was on their way. we could go find them, see if they can get us out of here." I nodded, but at the same time disagreed. deep down, I had the feeling that there were still more people in Mountbatten Row that we could save. I loaded a few shells into my shotgun as we started to Ozzy's car. I figured that we stood a better chance of rescuing people if we were with the millitary. I sat down in the drivers seat and gripped the steering wheel. I figured Ozzy could take out his fury on some zombies and passed him my shotgun.

after about fifteen minutes we found what we were looking for. kind of. all of the signs that the coast guard was here, Fortified hummers, enough millitary issue weapons for a small squad and supplies, but no coast guard. we both got out of Ozzy's Grand am and walked to the caravan bewildered and amazed.
"Ozzy, do you know what a vigillante is?" I asked. he shook his head no.
"Thats what we are now. want to go zombie hunting?" I picked an M16 rifle off the ground and checked its clip. then I picked up a berretta pistol and holstered it in my belt. "suit up buddy, were gonna go save some survivors."

At the moment, I had never felt more powerfull. I was behind the wheel of one of the biggest vehicles I'd ever been behind, had a millitary M16 at my side, and my best freind was manning a mounted browning machine gun on our truck. our first target, a High school not too far from here. we planned to go in, save who we could and get out of there. as we neared the school, some zombies came into veiw, and Ozzy fired, the heavy caliber machinegun thundering, drowning out all other sound. I drove forward and ran over some of the zombies, crushing them under the massive weight of the hummer. but suddenly, before we knew it, we were surrounded. the zombies came from all directions and quickly crowded hummer. I stomped on the gas, but there was nothing I could do. they had the vehicle pinned. some crawled ontop of the vehicle, but were quickly gunned down by the machine gun. one of the zombies punched in the window, but I quickly grabbed my rifle and fired, dropping the zombie in only a few shots. that was when a group of people darted from inside the school, brandishing makeshift weapons. the attacked at close range, dropping alot of the zombies in one hit from behind. a grin stretched across my face and I kicked open the door and opened fire. Ozzy did the same. he grabbed his rifle and fired, preffering the accurate rifle over the inaccurate and confined machine gun. it was a quick fight, and the zombies were quickly killed. I hopped down from the drivers seat and quickly went to check the damage done to the truck. I popped open the hood, and was greated with a puff of smoke. with no further information needed, I closed the hood and went back to the group of survivors.
"Alright, the hummer broke down, so all we can do now is get back inside and defend ourselves." I said. "We brought weapons, and supplies, so lets get this back inside before more zombies show up." everyone answered with a dissatisfied grunt of dissapointment. I looked to the closest person. "Whats your name?" I asked
"T.J." was the response.
"Can you fire a gun?" I asked.
"I'd blast you to hell" I smiled.
"Would you now?" I asked
"Not now guys." Ozzy said and passed an M16 to this "T.J." kid. "We need to get this stuff inside."

From the eyes of Gabriel Forrester
Oct. 31
10:22 A.M.
Mountbatten Row, IL

I awoke with a start, to the sound of more people fighting on Jerry Springer's stage. I rubbed my eyes and focused on my mother sitting in her chair piecing together a jigsaw puzzle, as she usually does.

"Morning," she said without looking up.
"Ughh," I groaned, swinging my feet off of the smal loveseat and onto the floor. I struggled to my feet and ambled to the bathroom. As I stood, relieving my bladder, I realized that today was Halloween. I had plans with my girlfriend to go Trick-Or-Treating. That should be fun. I always love spending time with her, and maybe tonight I'll get lucky, if you know what I mean.

I flushed the toilet, quickly washed my hands and made my way back to the living room.

"I have plans with Jessica tonight, Ma."
"Well be careful."
"Always am, Mom."

I showered and got into my costume. I was going to be a zombie emo kid. Back in the living room, i found that I ws alone. Mom had gone somewhere without telling me. Like she ever does. I made a small breakfast and waited for Jessica to show up. A short while later, I heard a knock on the front door. That must be her. As I made my way to the door, another knock rang out.

"I'm coming baby," I called as I put my hand on the knob and turned. I smiled at the thought of seeing her beautiful face, but when I opened the door what I saw was a totally different story. She was pale white, whiter than normal. She was all ruffled up and her hair was a mess.

"What are you supposed to be?"
"I'm a hobo," she laughed. "Good to see you, sugar."
"Always good to see you," I said and hugged her lovingly. "I'm gonna turn on the news to see what the weather is going to be like tonight real quick. Do you mind?"
"Nah," she answered, taking a seat on the couch.

I switched over to CNN and what I saw horrified us both. Death, destruction, and havok everywhere. What the hell was going on? The anchor went on about how riots had broken out everywhere, and that people were advised to stay indoors. Why would we be advised to stay indoors? What would people be rioting for? Is there some new protest goi-

I stopped mid-thought as a battered and bloodied man grabbed the news anchor and bit his Adam's Apple out. I looked to Jessica in bewilderment. Neither of us said a thing as the bloody man ripped that poor guy to shreds. I didn't know what to think. I had seen enough movies to know what was happening. I knew who George A. Romero was. I knew what the gore splattered guy was.

"...zombies..." I said breathlessly.
"I'm scared. We need to get out of here. Do you have a gun," Jessica was having one of her infamous panic attacks. Of course I had a gun, though I hadn't really used it much. On occasion I had taken my small .22 pistol out in the backyard to shoot cans. I was an alright shot, I guess, but I didn't know if I was going to survive. Of course, I couldn't let Jessica know that. I vowed, right then, that I was going to do whatever it took to get her to saftey.

I ran and grabbed my gun from my duffel bag and packed up a few things that we may need. Flashlights, batteries, a few canned goods and some water, and extra ammunition. I didn't know if this little gun would do the job, but I wasn't going to take the risk of running out of bullets. Better safe than a zombie. That's what mom always....MOM!! I rememered she went out! We HAD to makesure she was safe!

"Baby! Give me your phone! NOW," I yelled, the terror obvious in my shaky voice.I dialed my mom's phone number after a couple of tries and jammed the phone to my ear. Ring..Ring..Ring..."I'm on my way home," my mom said as she answered.

"No mom. Jessica'a here and were going to find somewhere safe. You get yourself out. Help whoever you can, but stay on guard.I love you, mom."
"I love you, too, son."

I hung up the phone, shouldered the duffel bag, and peeked outside. All clear. I snatched Jessica's car keys and ushered her out the door. I got her in and locked the doors, going around back to put the supplies in the trunk. I hurriedly crammed the bag in and racked the slide on my gun. I unlocked the doors and jumped into the car, putting the keys in the ignition before I closed my door. Jessica screamed and I lifted my gun. I looked up just in time to see a rot lunging for the open car door. I emptied three shots into the thing's face and it dropped like a rock. Good.At least I know my gun will do the job.

I slammed the door and locked it, starting the engine simultaneoulsy. Tires screeched as I backed out of the driveway and took off in search of somewhere to hole up for a while.

"I'm gonna get you out of this, baby. I promise. Everything is going to be ok," I repeated over and over as Jessica sobbed uncontrollably. As much as I said those words for her comfort, I said for my own as well. I didn't know what was going to happen. I just didn't want Jessica hurt. I wanted her safe.

We drove on and came to a highschool with a brokendown hummer out front and some people carrying things inside. The road was littered with the bodies of the undead army that was encroaching on all of mankind. It seems as though a battle was fought here recently. I screeched to a halt and honked the horn. Instantly all guns in presence were trained on me.

"Holy **** they can DRIVE now," someone said. I rolled down my window and raised my hands above my head.
"NO, NO, NO!! I'M HUMAN!"

All of the guns lowered and a man with an assault rifle greeted me.

"You and the girl need somwhere to stay?"
"Yes sir. I just want her safe I'll go somewhere els-"
"You can both stay"

We got out of the car and I grabbed the supplies we brought. We went into the school without incident and went straight to the auditorium.I guess we can stay here for now. But if anything happens, we're out of here. I AM going to keep my promise.

a whole day. god I was glad I had survived that long. now we were in good shape. good weapons, about twenty people to man 'em. of course there was that T.J kid. pissing me off. we hadn't made the best first impression I guess. suddenly, two quick bleats drew everyone outside the highschool's attention to a small Saturn, and I began to wonder if fatigue was starting to get the better of all of us. thats when Ozzy decided to yell out

"Holy ****, they can drive now!" and everyone raised their guns to meet with the heads of the two in the car. at the moment, I was carrying two bags holding hand grenades and C4's, and wasnt about to drop them so I could raise a rifle just in time to watch everyone else blow their brains out.
"NO, NO, NO!! I'M HUMAN!" said the one at the wheel, and I nodded.
"You and the girl need some where to stay?" I asked. mostly I just imagined that the guys might appreciate a girl who was actually living. the driver nodded, obviously shaken from almost being shot.
"Yes sir. I just want her safe I'll go somewhere els-"
I interupted. "You can both stay." I knew the saturn couldn't fit all of us, and I wasn't about to leave anyone behind, so I didn't bring up the fact that we had a working vehicle now.

fifteen minutes later.

after everything was set up, I gave two of the biggest guys there a grenade and an M4 each and told them to keep guard by the first door. that left Ozzy and I, T.J., Gabriel and Jessica, Keith, victor and the fourteen other surviving highschool students in the cafeteria. and there was shorty. a brit. I thought, but it was hard to tell, because the kid didn't say a damn thing. he just sat and stared at the ceiling.

"Hey, Joe." I said, and the kid looked at me. "Come here." the kid walked over and sat next to me. "Wanna play a game?" The kid nodded. he looked like he needed a little fun. "Your pick."

a few minutes later, the two of us had just got done playing a game of Tick tac toe, and I started to feel a head ache roll in. as the minutes passed by it got worse and worse. soon, it was a migrain.
"I will never drink again." I said, to no one in particular. it got a few smiles on peoples faces but nothing major.
"Hey guys, we got zombies!" yelled Trotter over a walkie talkie that laid on the table, and then in the back ground. "Heads up!" I figured that was will. suddenly, a few gunshots went off, followed by some un earthly screams.
"Whoa, Trotter, you allright down there?" I asked, Concerened.
"Did you hear that?" he asked.
"Yea, We heard it, what was it?"
"I dont know." he said, but suddenly, the ground started to shake."Holy ****." Trotter gasped. "Its huge! I need some back up. Now!"
"On our way." I said. I turned to the rest of them. "T.J. Kieth, Victor, I need you guy's to follow me. Ozzy, you stay here and try to keep everyone safe. distribute the guns evenly." I looked at one of the new guys. Gabe was it? "Hey, toss me that bag next to you." I said, and stretched my arm out. he grabbed the duffel next to him and tossed it to me. I caught it and strapped it over my back and signaled for the group to follow me.

the four of us ran as fast as we could, craddling the M16s. finnaly we reached the door, and saw Trotter and Will staring out the door in awe and fear.
"What is it?" T.J. asked, but all Will could manage was raise finger and point. we looked out the glass double doors and saw the biggest, ugliest and downright most fearsome creature we had probably ever laid our eyes on. it was atleast eight feet tall, bulging with muscle. its pale gray skin held many scars and bullet holes, but it didn't look like they were slowing it down. I was just about to tell everyone to hide when Will and trotter opened fire. what the hell? I asked my self and fired as well. the brutish creature didnt take kindly to our combined fire and quickly averted its course to Ozzy and I's Hummer. it picked it up with ease and raised it above its head.
"Cover!" I yelled and jumped behind the brick wall keeping my distance from the door. everyone else followed my example and took cover. well, everyone tried. will was still in the process of strafing out of the path of the door when the hummer crashed through the door and smashed him against the wall.
"Dammit!" T.J. yelled. "Any more wonderful Ideas Dempster? why dont we just let it in the cafeteria!" I didn't answer. honestly, I knew his death was my fault, but alot more people would die if we didn't get rid of this thing now. I took a look out of the door. or what was the door, and saw the creature barrelling at me at full speed. I raised my M16 and fired, but it seemed to have no effect on him. he crashed through the door way and brushed me aside, knocking my M16 free from my hands. what happened next was something straight from the movies. the creature tossed trotter over his shoulder and swept T.J off the ground. Keith and victor began to fire as I made my way to my rifle. the creature ignored the bullets like they were spit wads, and threw T.J. down the hall. He was still alive when he landed, and he quickly grabbed the Berretta from his holster and opened fire. the giant zombie grabbed the unconcious trotter and ripped him in half, spraying blood everywhere. I grabbed my M16 and fired into the zombies gut, but I knew it was too weak. I needed something more powerful. suddenly, I was reminded of the duffel strapped to my side. I unzipped it and reached inside, I felt the cold metal cylinder that was a fragmentation grenade and raised it.
"Everyone get clear, grenade!" I yelled, and I pulled the pin and threw it. I wasn't sure if Keith and victor were clear when the grenade went off, but I knew that the giant beast was blown to peices, splattering its blood every where and slabs of its rough hide were thrown every where.

It turned out that niether Kieth nor Victor had gotten clear, T.J. wasn't to happy about that. neither of us talked as we walked back to the cafeteria. when we got back we were greated by a british kid, who was about T.J.'s hight, but a few years younger. he looked past the two of us looking as if he was expecting someone else. then it occured to me that he probably was.
"where are the others?" he asked.
"They didn't make it." I said.
"Yea, ******** here made sure of that." T.J. added.
"Hey, whoa, Its not my fault." I argued.
"No, you just threw a highly explosive device at them."
"Look its no ones fault," Said the brit. "They died trying to protect us, they deserve respect for that."
I nodded and T.J. didn't say anything, but then he turned to me. "I'm not following your orders. No one here should. what makes you so special? Why do you get to barge in here and start bossing everyone around? If it werent for you," he pointed out towards the door. "they would still be alive."
"How do you know?" I snapped. "Even if they did how many others would be dead? if it weren't for them being there, that thing would have caught us off guard and killed twice as many people."

Great we get a few new guys who think their Rambo and the world goes to hell. 6 killed in one fire fight and a third of them were friendly fire.
It's not his fault I should'nt have let them stay their I watched the grenade arc down the hall whatever that was it was my responsibilty to bring down
I'm not going to let this happen again. I slump aimlessly into a wall with my weapon cradled between my legs. My head hangs and a tear drips down as i light up my last ciggerate. "Welcome to the end of the world." I mutter before i crush out my ciggerate and fall to sleep. I awaken and the highschool seems dead everybody must be asleep I walk to the second floor balcony and see several guys have taken post at the destroyed wall. I quickly dismiss them to go get some food and sleep. I can't help but wonder why us and why now. 3 hours pass before somebody checks to see if the door is guarded they slowly walk towards it and leans his head against whats left of a metal beam.
A moan splits the night air I raise my rifle as a creature files through the door to grab the lone sentry by his hair as his neck is pulled towards the zombies jaws I settle my sights in between its eyes. No one else is dying because of me. The M-16 finds its way to the pocket of my shoulder and reflex removes the safety. One lone report echoes the emptyness and the zombie dies.
looking around as if for some savior the former victim is dazed. several others rush into the room guns drawn, and whomever was by the door points to where I am standing I slink back into the shadows and hear footsteps to my left. Its demp he looks at me before continueing to walk past. I know that he doesnt like me, But I may be the survivors one shot at redamption. I will give my my last breath for them. Little did I know several hours later I would be asked to do just that. As the survivors spread out through the room I leave my post and go to the roof. Feeling as though I am drunk I lay down and nap.
I wake up and walk towards the low wall that seperates the roof from the wall and relieve myself thats when I see it.
Hundreds if not thousands an endless army of the dead. I grab my rifle and run towards the survivors in the building.

"Time to Go, Lock em and **** em boys, cafeteria anything you can carry now now now!" I yell everybody stirs and jumps to their feet. I race down the hall.
As i slide to my knees the first wave walks through the door safety off i take as many headshots as I can No use! Their still coming then I see it I single block of c4 with a green fuse sticking out of it. 30 seconds tops I reach for it as one of the corpses falls towards me. I snatch it just in time Grabbing my lighter I run towards the support beams holding up the second story. I watch as fellow survivors take up firing positions. Slamming the C4 against the wall I yell at them "GET OUTTA HERE NOW!" Demp looks at me as the others flee. His eyes locked to mine before continueing to fire into the crown."DEMP I SAID GO NOW." "Im not letting you die here!" he yells' "Now!" I yell firing three shots above is head. He takes off down the hall, I feel the undead bodies near me now my lighter touches the fuse. I throw my body into a corner and lay against the wall. A roar fills my ears then nothing. Im knocked out.

I don't know how long its been I'm covered in debris and in pain but not dead. I hope that it blowing up the balcony worked. My hand is free and I reach for my pistol to end my life. but my legs are covered in rubble. Then I hear it the slow methodic working of something clawing at me god I hope I starve to death before they eat me.

(" I'm really looking to become a part of the group again. so feel free to dig me outta the rubble. DEMP. LOL." crazyteddy36)(Hey, why not. but just promise me one thing. if we ever make this into a movie, we need to a fight song to come on feel the noize by quiet riot. as my dust covered form enters the cafeteria, gunshots booming from M16 automatic rifles picking off the last of the zombie survivors pounding against my eardrums. I am quickly surrounded by survivors. their sensless chatter almost drowned the zombies moaning. but one question seemed to be popular among the group.
"Where's T.J.?" asked one of them.
"He didn't make it."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean he didn't ******* make it!" everyone stopped clamoring. "Now were getting out of this school, whether you guys like it or not. there has to be a boat or helicopter or something left in this town."
"Hey buddy!" yelled Erdrab from behind his rifle, taking a break from firing into the burned out remains of the east wing of the school. "Wheres Joe?" I was suddenly aware that the small kid was no where to be found. and I wasn't about to leave him here.
"Anyone have any idea?"
"I saw him walk out of the cafeteria before the C4 went off." said Ozzy, pointing out the door into the burning hallway.
"oh for ***** sake!" I yelled to no one in particular. "Ozzy, Erdrab, you guys are with me." I said and started off to the door with the two following closely.

we were instantly into combat, zombies coming from all directions, only to be gunned down by one of our hot barrels.
"Was that him?" Ozzy asked gunning down a zombie.
"No."
"How about that one."
"No."
"This one?"
"Shut up, Ozzy." Erdrab said, obviously getting tired of the riflemans bitching.
After about fifteen minutes, we arrived to where T.J. set off the bomb. but, of course the room was flooded.

Four hours or so after the blast the scratching ceases and is replaced by gun fire. I reach franticlly at all of the rubble i can then my hand finds my rifle. Slowly I pry it from under debris my finger finds the trigger I cant see more then a half foot in front of me then I pull the trigger of my rifle a bright flash and am blinded the bullet richochets around my little room and hits my just above the thigh. "Jesus H Christ!" I scream warm blood gushes from my wound great now its a race what will kill me first the dehydration, my bullet wound, lack of air, or the zombies. Then I hear rocks being pushed away from me a hand shoots in and i cautiosly grip the fingers and the wrap around my arm. "I found him guys I found him" Someone yells as im pulled out of the hole I pass out.

(thats all I got for the time being.)

Here I am missing everything else in the wide world because of a zombie outbreak. I trained with Marines, Green Berets, Navy Seals, and the Airforce and now the world is going to hell. I abandon the coast guards hummer after I was swarmed, our bio weapon failed almost 4 hours ago a bunch of survivors must have destroyed it. I hated that thing a big ugly brute thank god that was the only one we had. No more biomorphed zombies.

The street stretches out ahead of me as my M4 illuminates an erie path with its flashlight. Command fell under zombie attack 3 days ago and I havent heard from them since. A group of zombies sit slowly munching on what looks like the carcess of a dead dog. I slip into a gas station as they devour the animal the door closes behind me then i trip on something slick and sticky. My rifle fires the silinced rounds punch a hole through the ceiling and the tile falls a lone zombie shuffles from behind the cases of food I drop it with a single head shot slowly clearing the room i realize it is safe. I settle in for the night as i drift into sleep i hear several gunshots in the distance. Then silence i'm not a guardian angel im alone and so is everyone else in the world nothing can stop it now I just hope i survive.

It was about forty five minutes ago, when Me and Erdrab walked in with T.J. draped over our shoulders and Ozzy with Joes hand in his, walked in the cafeteria. Some people cheered, but others stayed dead silent. That was when the full effect of the whole last battle hit me. about ten of the original twenty teenagers, gone. Gabriel and his girlfreind (What was her name?Nikki?) were among them. there were a few more highschoolers, and then us. We couldn't stay here. we'd be dead by noon. Me and Erdrab laid T.J. down on a table and leaned our M16's against the cold brick wall.
"We need to find a way out of here." I said to Erdrab as we walked back to the crowd.
"I know. I knew that as soon as we decided to hold ourselves up in here." Erdrab was younger than I was, but it didn't matter. he acted as if he were a long lost freind that I knew since Kindergarten. His once teenage features had been turned into the cold features of a war veteran. hell, we could be veterans of a new kind of war. even so, this was our war. our mission, Extract freindly civilians and get our asses out of here.
"You know Demp," Said the Brit. Great. now my nickname was going around. "I didn't used to be like this." it took me a minute before I could utter the few words "What do you mean?"
"Back in Britain, I set a building on fire. It was a Molotov Cocktail that me and a few of my buddies made just incase we ever had to defend ourselves. then my dad died. I was so angry. I couldn't think strait, and I just threw it. next thing I know, sirens are going off, people are screaming. then I found out that someone got hurt. She was a thirteen year old. home babysitting for her parents. Then we moved here." I nodded. I didn't exactly have a clean record myself.
"Thats the good thing about the world ending. It doesn't matter what you did before it happened, Just what you do now. Now, its up to me you and Ozzy. T.J.'s got a bullet wound and is scratched up enough for all of us. We need to get them out of here before we all die."

It took a screw driver and a few seconds of intense tugging, but we finnaly got the Browning off of the Hummer. I Carried the heavy weight over the working car were Gabriel was cutting a hole in the windsheild with a cutter from the metals room. We woudn't be able to mount it, but we could definitly move it around if we braced it on something. of course we coudn't fet everyone in the small car, but if we worked fast, we might be able to get to the convoy and bring back a few of the bad boys. then, we'd go from there. find a boat or something. I assembled a small fire team consisting of me, Gabriel, and two other highschoolers and got the car ready. Convoy wasn't far from here, we could get there in about fifteen minutes. that would be the easy part. the hard part would be finding one with enough gas to get back to the school and then a gas station. then we'd have to fight off the horde to get back to the school, and then we'd take our small convoy to a gas station and then look for a helicopter or something. as the fire team stood, weapons at ready, they chatted nervously. I had to explain to Ozzy and Erdrab that someone needed to stay at the school incase the horde came to them.
"I think were good." Gabriel said, and I nodded. I didn't need to tell the others; they quickly jumped inside the vehicle and prepared there weapons. I gave one last look over my shoulder at the school and nodded. I knew that the two would be watching. Jessica would probably be watching also. One look at her boy freind that may be her last. The two had shared a passionate kiss when he volunteered to come with us. I told him I would find someone else, but he was determined. I had to give it to him, he was quite the knight in shining armor.

It was the quietest fifteen minutes of my life, and also the quickest. we arrived before six o'clock and there sat the hummers, completely untoutched since we me and Ozzy blew through last time.
"No signs of the zombies." Said one of the highschoolers, Reily.
"Yea, don't jynx it." Said the other, Frank.
The two highschoolers and I had quickly ditched Gabes saturn and ran to the Hummers. My first one was a fail. not enough gas to get to the school and back.
Reily and Frank had the same report. Unfortuntly, there weren't enough Hummers to pick another three, so we had to take them to the nearest gas station. Our small convoy would have looked funny to any onlookers. Four large fortified Hummers with Machine guns following a small purple saturn. But we were to worried about surviving the day then looking cool. we arrived at the Gas station in only a few minutes. it was Reily first. In mean time, me and Frank went into the store to get what ever food we could. I walked in first, pushing the door open and meeting resistance. It was a dead body laying in a pool of blood. suddenly, its head snapped up, its eyes met mine. I jumped back along with Frank, but we stopped the guy seemed to be raising his hands. This was a survivor! I opened the door and helped him up, my hand grabbing onto his blood covered and slippery fingers. It was a coast guards men carrying a cut down version of me and Franks M16 rifles.
"I'm Sergeant Major Nathan Winters." He said, happily shaking my hand.
"Ellis Dempster." I said.
"Frank O'Conell." said Frank.
suddenly he noticed our Convoy.
"Are you guys stealing U.S. Property?"
"Well." I said looking over my shoulder at them. "You gonna stop us?" He stuffed the shortened barrel of his Carbine in my gut.
"I Protect America no matter the circumstance."
Frank shoved the carbine away, a stupid move, as Winters punched the kid in the nose, sending him sprawling to the floor.
"A fine job your doing buddy." I said. "Taking those things away would be killing what may be left of this town." Winters eyes diverted from mine to past mine. I was suddenly aware of some one yelling.
"Come one guys!" Yelled Gabriel. "We gotta move!" I turned and saw that a rather large sized horde was sprinting to us."
"Oh ****!" I gasped and grabbed Frank. "You just knocked out one of our drivers. I dont suppose you can't drive one of these things. lets go!" The Coastguardsmen didn't argue. he jumped in the last Hummer as I threw Frank in my passenger seat and jumped behind the wheel. Gabe and Reily were already gone by the time I started pulling out of the Gas station with Winters in tow.

When we arrived at the school, Erdrab and Ozzy were already covering the highschoolers so they could get into the hummers. the fired bursts from there assault rifles and waved them to move forward. I crawled over the seats and into the back to the machinegun. I got behind the gun and spun it around to the oncoming horde.
"Where did these guys come from ?" I heard Erdrab yell before I started to fire. that was when I started to wonder the same thing. Why did the always come out for one big finale? The gun kicked against my chest as the doors of the hummer were thrown open and people started pulling themselves in. Ozzy was the last one in, firing out of the window. Crawled under the gun and over the seats back to my spot behind the wheel. T.J. was in the back, and he was in rough shape. I took his rifle and told him to jump on the gun. then I handed his rifle to Frank, who had just woken up. I picked up the comm and called Gabe. we had put in a comm system that we had salvaged from the highschool office.
"You lead the way!" I shouted to him and he pulled out of the drive way. we all followed. suddenly, a loud ghastly roar that made the hair on the back of my neck stand up. I recognized this roar. "Are you kidding me?" I asked.
"I thought we only had one!" Winters yelled over the comm.
"You did this?" T.J. asked, from behind me. I repeated for him.
"Yea, well, not me but technically we made it."
Suddenly, Ozzy and whoever was on Winters gun opened up. I looked in the mirror and saw it. It was the large behemoth. large and muscular, about the size of an elephant.
"****!" I yelled. "Big boys back." I noticed a large burn mark on its shoulder that told me this was the same one that killed Trotter and Will. That was when I realized that me and T.J. were probably the only two here who ever saw one of these things. It crouched and jumped, clearing our whole convoy, except for Gabes saturn. it hit the car on the hood, sending the vehicle flipping through the air.
"Gabe!" Yelled Jessica's unique feminine voice.
"****!" Yelled Winters. "Its got the road blocked!"
"Heads down!" yelled Reily from the first Hummer. He tried to stop the vehicle, but it was no use. the behemoth grabbed the vehicle's bumper and threw it like a beach ball threw the air. I skidded to a stop and Thomas opened up, riddling the beast with fifty caliber bullets, but it was no use.
"Every one get out of the hummer!" I yelled and swung open the door, jumping head first out of the vehicle. my example was followed by everyone, except for T.J., who couldn't move very quickly and required help getting out of the vehicle. The behemoth hit the vehicle with a massive arm and sent it flipping down into a ditch. I looked to Winters, who had Erdrab on gun. I nodded and started firing at the beast. the last vehicle was quickly abandon and Winters and Erdrab ran to me and Ozzy. "can you guys buy me some time to get T.J. out of the vehicle?"

(Alright guys, here comes the big finale, but I need you bear with me. I cant do it in first person. I need to switch to third.)

Winters, Erdrab and Ozzy ran back to the vehicle. Erdrab crawled through the vehicle doors and jumped on gun. Thomas got in the passenger seat and started firing from his M16. Winters waited for the beast to stop and look at them. its grotesque and scarred head turned and looked at them. "Guys, get down!" he yelled, and stepped on the gas, sending the vehicle jolting towards the beast. he hit it in the gut and it toppeled over the vehicle, leaving a good sized dent in the hood and top of the vehicle and a large crack in the windsheild. Winters hit his head hard on the steering wheel and felt a small stream of blood trickle down his forhead and off his brow.
"Is everyone okay?" He asked.
"I'm good." Ozzy said.
"Peachy." said Erdrab, who had to quickly duck to avoid getting smashed by the creatures body. slowley, the behemoth began to rise from behind them.

Eli had to kick in the window of the vehicle to get to T.J. He was still consious, but he was cradeling his arm, being particuly careful not to hit the exposed bone coming from the elbow. he was blinded by pain.
"My arms broken!" He said. "God it hurts!"
"Hold on, buddy! I'll get you out of this!" I pleaded. I carefully helped him out of the vehicle. he heard gunshots all around him. th hoard threat was obviously not gone. with one hand, I put the stock of the M16 on my shoulders and did my best to aim it properly. I handed him my Berretta pistol and told him to shoot anything that came from behind us. he carefully put his broken arm on his lap and held the pistol with one hand. with my free hand, I grabbed him by the collar and started pulling him to the nearest place of cover.

His vision was coming back, and so was his memory. he didn't remember much, but he remembered seeing a large creature fly through the air and hit him, sending his car flying through the air. he looked behind him. the bloody messes of everyone elses corpses were scattered all over the car. he undid his seat belt and fell the the roof. Okay, now were upside down, he told himself as he crawled from the vehicle. the first thing he saw, was the oncoming horde. he drew his pistol from his belt loop and fired onto the nearest zombie, turning to run. Atleast he wasn't dead already. Mabye he could atleast see Jessica's face one last time.

"Guys." Erdrab said to the others. "I have a plan. Who here can make IED's?" He asked. Ozzy spoke up first. "I need you to make me a Molotov, and then get out." Ozzy got to work, first finding a beer bottle in the back of the vehicle. "Winters, can you charge that thing again?" The coastguardsmen nodded.
"Yea. What are you going to do."
"The right thing."
with in five minutes (Ozzy had worked incredibly fast) the team was ready. Winters backed the car up while Ozzy finished up the molotov and Erdrab prepared himself. Ozzy handed the kid the bomb and jumped out. by now the Behemoth was up and ready for another go at the vehicle. Erdrab jumped onto the roof and braced himself against the Machine gun.
"Go ahead!" He yelled. "Jump out on three! ONE!" Winters charged the beast, they were slowely building up speed. "TWO!" Erdrab lit the molotov.
"THREE! JUMP" He yelled and watched Winters jump from the cab. as soon as the hummer got close enough, he threw the molotove straight at the beast and jumped off himself. The molotov hit its target, filling the three with a quick sense of fleeting hope as its body was burned to a crisp and flattened by the hummer. Erdrab rewarded himself with a victory smile. but suddenly, the vehicle blew, sending shotgun blasts of molten metal and flames everywhere. Winters and Erdrab covered their heads and felt the burning heat of the flames as the shot over their exposed selves.
Winters got to his knees and fired a burst from his carbine, and then passed an M16 to Erdrab. Quickly joined by Ozzy, they were subject to watch as many of the remaining highschoolers were tackled, and eaten. suddenly, a peircing, almost leafblower like sound and the many of the zombies fell. Winters remembered that sound from Iraq when he trained with the berets. GAU-19. firing the fifty BMG. it was a fifty caliber minigun. missiles flew over their heads, their trails sizzling out in seconds and displaying a spectacular show of gore and flying zombies.
"Helicopters!" Winters exclaimed and turned to see the two coast guard helicopters and thier Minigun gunners.

"Helicopters!" Eli shouted to Jessica and T.J. the two were overjoyed, and they gave a "whoop!" of cheer. Eli and Jessica draped T.J. over their shoulders and carried him to the choppers. once inside the cargo area of the choppers, they met up with the remnants of the survivors. just Erdrab, Winters and Ozzy remained. That was when sadness overcame jessica, and she fell to the ground, weeping. T.J. put a hand on her shoulder. The gunner turned to him.
"You guys are damn lucky. anymore survivors?" He asked.
"Target in sight!" yelled the gunner in the second chopper. their gunner spun around and grabbed the handle preparing to shoot.
"WAIT!" I yelled.
"HOLD YOUR FIRE!" Yelled the pilot to the two gunners, and through the gunsmoke, walked a bloodstained Gabriel Forrester, with the small and cowering Joe in his arms.

(Back to first person)
When they finnaly loaded Gabe and Joe in the chopper, and Gabe and Jessica shared one more Passionate kiss, they asked us "Where to?" I looked to T.J., who was still in pain, and Gabe and Jessica who were locked in the most compasionate hug i'd ever seen. I looked to Ozzy, who was never happier to off of the ground. Erdrab had taken the opportunity and started sniping out zombies on the ground with his M16, and Winters had taken up position as his spotter.
Then I looked to Joe. he was the only one who was paying attention.
"any were you gotta go?" I asked him. "Hot date or something?"
"I promised my dad that I'd go back to London and find my mum." He said. I nodded.
"The nearest freighter. take him back to London, and make sure he finds his mom." I said.

Epilogue

I imagined that there was one happy person in london, overjoyed to have found her son. I couldn't even describe how happy i'd be.
"You think he ever found her?" Ozzy asked.
"No doubt." Erdrab said. "I can't imagine that they couldn't."
T.J. was at a hospital, having his wounds treated to, but no one knew if he was going to make it or not. no one asked. just hoped.
"I hope so." Said Gabe, sitting next to Jessica. "If not, what do you think they'd do with him? send him back to us?"
"No," I said. "They found her." the Tank beneath us lurched and shuddered, almost knocking me off. Once I regained my balance, I patted its armor plating. "Hold together old girl. We got zombies to kill."
"Hey!" Yelled a voice from inside the tank. "Targets spotted." Suddenly, the weary face of Sergeant Major Nathan Winters revealed itself from the inside of the tank. "We're going in hot." He said.
Erdrab pulled the charging lever back on an M4 Carbine. "No other way to go in." He said. I myself shoved a few shells into my SPAS-12.
"Lets rock!" Ozzy said. and everyone picked a target.
"Fire on three!" Winters said. "One!" I picked a target and aimed, puting its head in my iron sights. "Two!"
"Welcome to the end of the world." I recited the saying from an old freind.
"Three!" we all pulled the trigger.
