1FutureMarine1 Plan
The Plan: My group is located in alaska 3-5 miles outside anchorage. There are six members and we all own small to medium sized cabins and houses. If signs of a disaster start to arise I will pack up my B.O.B and my dog into my vehicle and head 20 miles north to our meeting location.
Most of my group will be heading there to but in different vehicles. Once we get there we are going to asses the situation and re-group. We are going to stay here for about 3 - 4 days to get outfitted then we see what we will do from there. if nuclear tensions or a zed attacks grow even more we will take our gear and begin our convoy out side the area of effect for a nuclear bomb on achorage. I believe it is roughly 100 miles but I will have to check. After the bombs have been dropped we will avoid the large cities and begin raiding the small towns of alaska.

The vehicles: Once our group gets to our location we will have these vehicles:
Lifted Toyota Tacoma- off road armor and extensive capabilities. (mine)
Lifted ford f150- extensive off road capabilities and off road armor.
Dodge dakota -minor off road capabilities
Chevy tahoe - minor off road capabilities
Chevy colorado
We plan to stay in a convoy until our numbers grow to about 14 - 20. Once we get to that point we will hopefully up a small colony. The convoy will still be used but mostly for defensive and raiding situations.
Defenses:
1) Small group attack:
You must have people who are good shots for this to work.
You simply dig a ditch about 25 - 35 yards away from your colony. It should be about 5 feet deep and 10 feet wide. It should be able to be seen from a building inside your compound.
As the raiders get closer you start giving suppresive fire at about 25 - 40 yards away. They should run straight into the ditch for cover. This is where 2 or 3 snipers will take them out from the building with a clear shot into the ditch.
This will leave the group in a panic or dead. (This would only work on a small group of 6 - 7 raiders.)
2) Mid sized attack:

These are the guns that we are brining to the meeting house.
Rock river ar15 6.8 spc mid length rifle, Ruger mini 14 .223, usp .40, usp .45 acp, colt .45, mossberg 930 12 gauge, POF 415 6.8 spc....

Trading:
My thought of trading is not using currency because unless you have gold to back up you money it's worthless. And whose to say the traders will even use or take you currency. It may work inside the colony but outside it's worthless. And because your currency isn't backed up by anything you can just keep making money and you'll be a billionaire.
Items:
Chevy colorado: The chevy will be traded for more supplies because every other vehicle has a diesel engine that will run on bio diesel except this one. So it will be useless within a couple months of a disaster. Better trade it for more supplies.
