Why not add a garden area, maybe an animal pen, you could even put fish in the water surrounding the fence

Nice, good find!
I like the fact that it can be fully submerged in water, and then be flexible for 2 hours alloing you to nail it to other constructions for added protection. This would be useful if you placed it over a weatherboard house, as it would absorb the impact of minor calibre bullets, offering some increased protection from bandits.

I recommend getting this as the headquarters for Z.S.D.W. http://www.bomb-shelter.net/earthcom-70-128-condo-shelter . At just under $3.3 mil it can house 200 people comfortably and can run on a gas generator for a month and a half without refueling. hooki it up to several heavy duty solar panels and power becomes irrelevant.. It is completely underground, almost impeneratrable, and has all the perks of home running water, electricity, etc. PLUS these guys will install it for you wherever you want!

This is a really good shelter, but how do you plan on building this during a Z-day outbreak... you probally dont have acces to that kind of equipment and land right now. if you do, give me your address and ill join your, lol. But seriously, do you actually have a .50 call MMG sitting in your garage?

this is retarded how exactally do u plan on doing this when the whole world is in chaos??? you need to think about long term survival gasoline for the helicopter and ammo for your weapons and a steady water/food supply you cant count on M.R.E's and rain water also propane for your "grill" .....so basically if u build a model like this kid did u need to make it realistic something that a group of 1-12 could build

¿Out of curiosity, what kind of ground space are you planning on here? ¿A couple of feet, or a few million?

1. There's a lot of wasted space on the roof. If you put a little wall around the roof, you could have greenhouses, weapons + ammo storage, a library, a weapons workshop, laboratories, sharpshooters, etc.
2. While having a lot of greenspace is good, I think that one side should have blocked visibility to the outside of the fort - it'd be nice to think for a second that there isn't a ruined, smoking, zombie infested world out there. 3. Interior design - with your permission, I'd like to design the inside. While it has to be practical and use space well, you could make the inside feel really nice, comfortable and cosy, with only a little effort. This would also help with morale, although the courtyard is a stroke of genius. 4. Position of the courtyard - It seems that as soon as you enter the complex, you end up in the courtyard. Or when you go in the entrance, do you go left or right into the building?

As Much as i like your design i've got another idea that we could think about.
During the 50's and 60's the U.S. built hundreds of missile silos though out the continental U.S. to fight communist Russia. There was a class of missiles called the titan Missiles and there were 3 silos to an underground base. In the 90's when the cold war was over both U.S and russia emptied out their silos and left them to sit. now you can buy these properties for civilian use in the U.S. So what i was thinking was to use the already exiting underground base and with a few modifications it could act as the Z.S.D.W base. Now at the moment i don't have my own computer because i'm getting it upraded but as soon as i get it back i will draw up the possible plans based on modifications to existing blueprints. but for now there is a drawing of the lay out of these bases at this website. http://thinkorthwim.com/2007/10/08/for-sale-by-owner-titan-missile-silo/ Just take a look and tell me what you think and your ideas for modifications and i will take everyones ideas and draw one set of plans which uses the best ideas. |

While I am aware of the almighty zombie-destroying powers of the hot tub, I'd like to ask how I get to the helipad on the top.
And is it possible you could send me the file? I have Sketchup and I'd like to take a closer look.

Only one problem the chain link fence, good against a couple of zeds. But if there are a crap load the amount of force from all of them may be enough to take down the fence. I an in college for engineering, if you want the most cost effective method use the same set up as above an in place of the the chain link use sheets of corrugated metal and shore up the posts that hold up the fence to give them greater lateral force ( the side to side strength of something). This in turn might cost a little more but it is a very good investment. If you have the ability to get alot of concrete then use it along with rebar to make a hell of a good wall.
Hope this helps. "Better to have a stronger wall on the day the undead return, then to meat them face to face."

What will be in the outside area of the courtyards a few greenhouses are needed one for medicial a few for food and a medical sealed room for diseases beside the zombie virus better to lose one sick person with a bad case of the flu than all of your party. Also I think the hot tube is a waste of resources
